Direct bay front home located in the quiet location of Slaughter Beach! Looking for an affordable water front vacation this year? This could be it! This pet friendly home is just steps away from the beach. Enjoy relaxing, swimming, and fishing right out your back door! The first floor consists of a bedroom with a queen bed, sitting area with TV, and a brand new bathroom (just finished April 2024). The garage area, also located on the first floor, is where you'll find the laundry area, and a few bikes that the owner is conveniently providing for guests to use. On the 2nd level you'll find gorgeous views of the bay off the living area, as well as, peaceful views of protected wetlands off the kitchen and dining room. There are also 3 bedrooms (2 of which have bay front views) and 1 full bath on this level. This home is pet friendly, so bring your dogs and enjoy walking and playing with them on the beach any time of day.

$200 non refundable pet fee, per pet. Dogs Only. (max 3 dogs)
A linen package can be purchased for your stay. The cost of the linen package for one week's stay is $245.40.
Guests who book will be required to purchase damage insurance, and that is included in the host fees.

Perfect!

Easy check in and check out process. Rental is furnished appropriately to make you feel like it’s your home away from home. Our dog loved walking the beach on every walk! Locals were super friendly! Will be back!

Lovely family vacation

Enjoyed a week at the bay in this home. Plenty of room for our family plus a kitchen table large enough for all. We had fun helping to save horseshoe crabs, fishing and relaxing. Owners were responsive to some minor things and knowledgeable about the area. The house was well stocked for our needs.

Well Stocked home on the beach

There are plenty of kitchen and beach silupolrs at the property the bedrooms are small but they made great use of the space and have large beds to accommodate multiple people.

Great Family Location

This house suited our mini family reunion perfectly! The street is extremely quiet and peaceful and it felt like we had our own private beach. The house had everything we needed with plenty of space for everyone. The only issue was the staircase down to the beach. Due to what looks like some damage, it was difficult to navigate with children and beach gear. Aside from that small issue, we very much enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning!

Absolutely beautiful veiw of the bay

This house was amazing. Very clean and has everything you need. We loved that the host left us with a thank you card and some special snacks on the kitchen counter. We also brought our dog with us and he loved it to. If your looking for a nice get away and private beach front this is the place to go.

Like going to your family's cottage

Great place to stay - we love Slaughter Beach as it is super dog friendly, and the house was great - everything you needed was provided, and then some. The house is cozy, with modern appliances, clean bathrooms, king size bed, amazing views, nothing to complain about really...although mosquitoes are terrible, but blaming that on the rental would be disingenuous :) 10/10

Relaxing

The house was amazing the beach was beautiful. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Two small repairs that we noticed. The door facing the road needs some repair - the door molding seemed very flimsy. The stairs going down to beach needed some repair. The last two steps were rocks and a cinderblock - potential hazard.

Beautiful property - new upgrades

Love this property. It is a great place to stay so close to the beach. The new upgrades to the ground floor are awesome (new bathroom is amazing). Bikes for kids and adults, beach playing toys and a lot of stuff are great additions. TV had YouTube (and other services) so the kids could take time off the beach easily. Kitchen has plenty stuff and was easy to use like previous times. We are repeat renters and will surely come back again!

Very quiet and peaceful

This house is located in a quiet and very little traffic area. Beach is nice except some horseshoe crabs. Beautiful sunrises and stones on beach. Dog friendly beach and home. Easy access to beach but little difficult going down steps to beach. Set up of house perfect. Weather was good..windy which kept bugs away. Some bugs. House supplied bikes, helmets and beach chairs. Very grateful for that. Agree not a place for teenagers as there is nothing to do there. Looking for no crowds and quiet. This is it! friendlyfriendltfriendly which is why

Quiet beach front home

Good location and nice and quiet. The house was clean enough. I found the Swiffer to take care of some bugs near the ceiling in the living room. Ceiling fans and TV area could have used some dusting. But overall ok. Tub area is a little slick and could use some grab bars and a mat. Views are beautiful. Access to the beach is a little challenging for someone like me. The steps down need a handrail and the sand is quite soft getting to it. As such I wasn't able to use it. But there is a safer access point down the road by the fire station. Overall nice house, dog friendly, with good views.

A quick getaway for some R&R

This home was well appointed for our stay, had everything we needed. It is in a safe, remote area, private and quiet, with direct access to the bay. 3 stars for booking. Reserved on VRBO and was told we would get confirmation within 24 hrs. We didn’t, so I made an inquiry with VRBO. 2 days later, I received a emailed response with a contract from a real estate company who apparently handle the rental. We were charged $200 from VRBO as well as $95 with real estate company for the reservation processing fee, along with the other expected fees…Not happy about that, never happened before w/vacation rentals, and came too late with their response (real estate co.) to my inquiry to cancel. 5 star Owners we accessible by phone resolving an issue. Very nice people who have provided a lovely home away from home to enjoy!

Slaughter beach

This is a beautiful house and the owners went out their way to make us feel welcome The house was very well stocked and all we needed was linens The only drawback was the insects which can’t be helped as this property is in a nature preserve If you have pets make sure they are on flea and tick prevention We pulled at least 20 ticks off our dog The beach was beautiful and relaxing There were many dead horseshoe crabs, but we expected that based on previous posts The beach is remote so not very many people to disturb your visit This is not the type of beach for swimming and you will need beach shoes due to the many shells and rocks. It was beautiful and peaceful none the less. We enjoyed our stay and loved the community The bicycles on the property were also a bonus and much appreciated.

lovely location and nice place

We had a wonderful time at this pet-friendly house. The house was clean, had all the items we wanted and the bikes were a bonus. Kids loved the easy access to the beach. We had a great time watching Horseshoe crabs & volunteering with Delaware's DNREC with bird counts. We did not use the rooms at the lower level & so had not found the second bathroom until we asked about it. It is in the area where the washer/dryer is and is not renovated. A railing for the wooden steps to access the beach would have been helpful. The property manager was responsive on weekends too. We did not take the linen package and so had brought all linens, towels etc. that we would need for the stay. We had a great time and look forward to staying here in the coming years.

Nice, peaceful spot

Overall, the house had a good set up, and the views from the windows were lovely! Beds were comfortable, and the main living areas worked really well for a comfy weekend. The second bathroom (with full shower) was in the garage (which was mentioned on the listing), and it was not clean. Despite keeping all doors and windows closed, we dealt with an abundance of mosquitos and (biting) flies in the house. The beach is right there! And a lovely strip, but we couldn’t lounge there because of the flies. Still recovering from the bites. We also couldn’t/wouldn’t swim for the majority of the trip. As soon as we checked in, we unpacked and got into the water. Two of us got stung by jellyfish. We realized there was probably a reason we didn’t see anyone else swimming. When we went for a walk the next AM, there were tons of dead jellies on the beach. (And biting flies that don’t respond to big spray.) You can’t control nature, so our rating is generally positive. But unfortunately, the conditions around the house made it difficult to take advantage of the best feature of the house: the beach and the water.

Great Vacation

Very relaxing vacation. Was nice and quiet! The beds were very comfortable, better than I have at home!! The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was perfect for the five of us and our pups. You can take your dogs into the beach which was a major plus!!!

House at slaughter beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My experience was excellent. It was clean and in a lovely location. I would go back the next time I travel to Delaware. I would rate all 5 for the questions asked.
