We enjoyed staying at Casa Malibu. The bunk room is only accessible through the main floor bathroom. This wasn't a problem for us but I could see how it could be for some families. The location was great and just a quick walk to the beach.

Nice location. You might as well be out in the ocean to get a good internet signal. Host brought a hot spot...it was ineffective. If you care to watch tv it can be a challenge.Back door wouldn't lock and towel holder in bathroom is about to fall off.Not a teaspoon in the place.

Casa Malibu was cute, in a good location, and was well equipped. Unfortunately, the AC went out during our stay. The property manager did get a tech out, but wasn't able to get the AC fixed during our stay, so they installed two windows units in the common areas. The bedrooms unfortunately were uncomfortable, even at night with ceiling fans. If that hadn't happened however, we would have had a great stay!

Very convenient location to beach and perfect layout for our family and pet. Driveway access from front and back of the property allowed for flexibility when exiting with car or golf cart. House is far enough away from center Street and restaurants/bars such that traffic and crowds are not noticeable. Highly recommended.

Clean and very close to the beach! You can hear the ocean from the decks and you can see it from the master bedroom upstairs. This house is perfect for 4 people (2 couples) or a family with kids. I could not see 6 adults staying here comfortably though. The kitchen was well equipped. The grill was clean and working. The laundry room under the house was great. The beds were comfortable enough. Beware that the road in front of the home (Ashley) is busier than the road behind the home (Cooper) if you’re walking dogs. This house was perfect for us and we would consider staying here again

Nice Place in Folly Beach

The house was just like the pictures. Clean, modern, and located in a nice town. We would stay there again.

A perfect stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this house. It was perfectly situated between Center street where all the shops are located and a short walk to the beach. It was clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed for our short stay. We loved it!

Casa Malibu is Awesome

Casa Malibu has a great location, a very quiet beautiful area. Close to the beach. Plenty of space for parking. Nice decks, and a very nice house. We enjoyed our week at Folly Beach.

Perfect Getaway

My mother and i visited this property in May of 2024 and had an AMAZING time. The property is located in a perfect spot; only a block away from the beach and a short bike ride away from center street but still far enough that you have privacy and some peace and quiet. The house itself was spacious and beautifully designed, it felt like staying in a boutique hotel. I highly recommend not only this property but anything Carolina One owns, they were so helpful and responsive at all points in our trip. thanks yall for a great vacation!

The house was very clean and spacious. Seating space was very open and I would think would be well suited for families. As we were only two people, we didn't use the massive upstairs bedroom and attached bathroom. One thing that did stand out was the back room was attached to a "jack and jill" bathroom - but appeared that bunk style room those persons would need to walk through the other bedroom to get to the kitchen and living room unless they walked outside. All the usual kitchen amenities, massive refrigerator. It was unfortunately very rainy and windy the weekend we were there so unable to comment on exterior amenities. Restaurants and "downtown" Folly were just over a mile away. Would stay again.

Beach trip

Overall the trip was great and the location is really close to the beach. The only downsides were the lack of bathroom privacy, lack of ventilation in the downstairs bunk bedroom, and the bad WiFi. There were smart TVs in every room but unfortunately the wifi wasn’t good enough to watch anything for more than a few minutes. The bunk bedroom got pretty hot though because it has no vents and you need to walk through the bathroom and the other bedroom to get to the kitchen and living room which is a bit inconvenient. There is also very little privacy in the downstairs bathroom between the bedrooms because it has doors to the deck and both bedrooms. There could also be a bit more comfortable seating besides just the couch in the living room. It was very clean when we arrived and well stocked which was appreciated. There is also a very convenient outdoor shower which worked very well for us.

Needs Improvement

Only 1 closet, no drawer space. Water runs out onto floor while showering. Washer & Dryer not convenient, low head space & mouse droppings on shelf but did not see mouse. Ants in kitchen one day. Outdoor furnishings had mold on chairs and the light fixture outside of upstairs bedroom had wires exposed with a bird nest in fixture that was falling. And cookware needs upgraded. Ceiling fan upstairs bedroom was dirty with cobwebs in light fixtures.

Cute beach cottage / spa retreat :)

This is a super cute and clean cottage! The decor is so nicely done I felt like I was at a spa retreat :) Everything felt new and modern and I can tell a lot of care is taken into running this rental. Love how close it is to the beach. Only thing I would recommend is adding more seating in the living room and a bigger table for eating. I couldn’t imagine a big family staying here. It was just me and my husband so it was fine for our trip but we did have friends over for dinner and we all had to sit on the one small couch and pull stools from the kitchen so that felt a little awkward :) Also the decking could use some better furniture and fresh paint. But I could imagine that is hard to keep up with being at the beach and all. Would have been nice to have a little bistro table on the upper deck because you can see the ocean and watch waves and have coffee or drinks up there! But was so nice to be able to lay in bed and see the ocean 10/10!I also loved the bathrooms! Felt like a little personal spa and the water pressure was like a massage. Made our little getaway so relaxing and just what we needed. Thank you for being awesome hosts we had really nice weekend 3

The location was great — close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood — and we appreciated being able to check in early after a long trip. However, the property needs significant maintenance. The exterior photo is outdated and doesn’t reflect the current condition. Boards are rotting, paint is peeling, decks need work, and outdoor lighting is minimal at night.Inside, the décor felt cozy and beachy, but cleanliness and upkeep were disappointing. The floors were sandy and dirty, especially on the stairs, and many tiles were cracked. In the back bedroom, the window AC was held in place with painter’s tape, the exterior door was poorly sealed (letting in light and bugs), there were cobwebs, and no bedside lamp. The bathroom window had noticeable mold.Small details were also lacking — minimal toilet paper and paper towels, only one dish towel, and a washer/dryer placed awkwardly in a small outdoor shed.While the cottage has potential and a lovely location, the current condition did not match expectations for the price. Regular maintenance and better attention to detail are needed to make this property truly enjoyable.

Regarding your specific notes: The bathroom does not have mold, but it can be prone to mildew; which is common in areas of high moisture. We will ask our housekeepers to immediately address it. We clarify that starter supplies (including minimal paper goods) are provided, and this information is shared with guests in the check-in email seven days prior to arrival. Additionally, the location of the washer/dryer in the detached building is disclosed in our listing description. Our team will make sure the A/C unit is property secured, thanks for pointing that out! The owner already has plans to address the deferred exterior maintenance, including renovating the siding and performing paint/pressure washing. We are taking your notes seriously and are working closely with our maintenance and cleaning teams to ensure everything is well-maintained for future guests. Let down

This was our 2nd family vacation, when we arrived we looked around the inside & fell in love, however when my husband looked outside he saw literal feces, toilet paper, and DIRTY TAMPONS on the ground from the sewage backing up. The property managers were very kind & helpful at getting the problem resolved, however it took a full day & 1/2 to fix & got a refund of maybe 2% at first. I spoke to the property manager & literally said that was a slap in the face & then they refunded 1/2 a days worth. That wasn’t even equal to what we paid for a full day. I was over it at that point & just wanted to have a good vacation so I left it alone. HOWEVER, WE THEN HAD AN ISSUE WITH ANTS! There is an infestation with ants at that house, AND BIG ONES! They were crawling the floors, walls, and ceilings, and had a huge amount inside the wood on the outside of the house. We had to spray ant killer when they kept dropping out of the side of the house! I’ll NEVER stay at that house again. We paid I believe $3200 for an aggravating vacation at that house. Vacation should be fun & stress free… ours was not.

Terra, we sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. This has never happened before at this property, and when made aware we sent out plumbers, a cleaning crew, and septic tank specialists immediately and the issue was resolved by 5pm that day. Additionally, we provided compensation multiple times that was confirmed to be satisfactory. We were never made aware of any presence of ants, and while this house is routinely treated for pest control, we would have happily addressed this had it been brought to our attention. While we value guest feedback, if we are not made aware of issues during the stay, we are unable to address it. We are happy to report that since this incident, no pest or septic issues have occurred. Thank you again for your business.

Perfect beach getaway. Home was clean and had the basics we needed. Loved all the decks and outdoor space. Less than 2 min walk to beach and short bike ride from Central ave bars and restaurants.
