Experience this charming vacation or business executive private studio apartment in our 1880's restored Victorian home. Our location for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest is IDEAL - 5 block walk to Jazz Fest at the Fair Grounds Race Track - most venues are within walking distance. Walk to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, pharmacy, City electric pedal assist bicycle rental kiosk, Bayou St. John & City Park. Relax and BBQ in the completely landscaped lush and tropical backyard with a goldfish and water lilly pond. Ample street parking directly in front. All the comforts of home, just pack your bags and make your way over!

When it's time to take a break, this studio comes complete with a 49" flat-screen smart HDTV to keep you amused and informed during your stay. A galley kitchen includes a gas range and oven, microwave, full size refrigerator with ice maker, 5-cup coffee maker and pots, pans, dishes and utensils - all the basics for snacking or cooking a full meal. There is a pull out twin-size couch with linens provided for a third guest at a nominal additional daily fee.

Little comfy slice of heaven!

This rental unit is in a historic home and it's pretty much an efficiency apartment. Herb had it fully stocked for our stay and greeted us warmly as we arrived after a long drive. You can tell he's done this for a while because he had everything we could've wanted: coffee, creamer, sugar, lots of ice, lots of clean towels, extra toilet paper, large TV with cable, wifi, shampoo, soap, adequate dinnerware, cookware, great heating/cooling system, and even a bluetooth speaker and nice hidden little patio area--along with a nice bottle of wine. This was classic New Orleans and we were within walking distance of some great restaurants and not far from the Quarter. Initial entry and exit were both smooth as silk; and we would highly recommend a stay at this charming little apartment the next time you're in Nola.

Wonderful location with safe parking.

Unfortunately, the day after we arrived, I came down with bronchitis and spent nearly the entire week in bed. Herb, our host, was great. He brought some fresh fruit for me and asked if there was anything he could do to help. He gave my wife a ride to the Quarter where she went to a cajun cooking school. I hope to return to New Orleans in 2025 and would definitely stay at Herb's rental again.

Great Mid City Studio

Handsome well-furnished and comfortable studio space in a great spot just off Esplanade and very near the Racetrack. Host was helpful and hospitable. There was indeed ample parking out front and virtually no noise from the host’s home above.

Wonderful stay in magical NOLA.

Fantastic stay! The property was clean, cozy, and conveniently located near many attractions in New Orleans. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay!

We had the best time! The house was so charming and relaxing. I really enjoyed the backyard with all the plants and pond. Herb was super nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in New Orleans.

Great location, food, and fun

Our host was amazing and had all kinds of great recommendations for food, basic supplies, etc. Five star quality bed and other amenities. We slept like babies in amazing comfort.

Great overall experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief overnight stay at the Lagniappe Suite. Rarely will you find a place that exceeds all expectations, but this is certainly one that we will hope to book in the future. Host was great and thought of every little detail to make sure the suite has every comfort needed to make this place a true home away from home. Beautiful furnishing & and a lush garden complete the vibe making this a true New Orleans getaway spot.

Mr. Herb is a great host and made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The property was clean, stocked with all necessities and the location is better than what is in the listing description. There is plenty of parking on the street with no restrictions. Highly recommended.

Backyard Oasis

The host was very knowledgeable of good spots to eat and museums to see. He left out a beautiful basket of snacks and a bottle of wine. Softer bath robes that have ever touched my skin and yet none of this touch the beauty of the backyard with chairs and tables to sit at close to the house or out by the gold fish pond. Fans to keep you cool and beautiful string lights to show you the way at night. I started every morning by the pond and finished every night on the swing.

Above and Beyond

The Lagniappe studio apartment was absolutely perfect for us! It had all the charm of New Orleans and everything we needed. Herb goes above and beyond in making you feel welcome with a complimentary bottle of wine, snacks, and bottles of chilled water. He is a treasure trove of information on the city and its sights and willing to help in any way. The location is ideal - quiet, yet not far from any of the sights. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Wonderful visit

Beautiful property. Really got a feel for what it would be like to live in this area. Weather was perfect in March and Herb was a great host! Best ever visit to New Orleans .

Great location, great host

We only stayed one night, but Herb was a perfect host. The apartment was clean with lots of nice details- snacks, amazing garden out back…. We would definitely recommend staying here.

The best place to take it easy in The Big Easy

Herb was a great, knowledgeable host with a beautiful historic property featuring the most amazing backyard. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay that meet our needs. The neighborhood, close proximity to many great restaurants, history, charm*...We will return.

Wonderful Experience and an Excellent Host

From the moment we arrived we knew we had found a great place. Our host Herb greeted us and took us to our Lagniappe Suite, located in a 2-story historic building, and we walked into an air-conditioned venue with WWOZ radio on playing jazz! There were snacks and a bottle of wine and a wonderful conversation with Herb about the building, the neighborhood, New Orleans history and more. Herb was thoughtful, helpful and what southern charm is all about! Would highly recommend this venue, it’s location and host!

Loved our stay!!!

Great property, location and host! The very best of New Orleans. Property had everything needed, is wonderfully decorated/appointed and comfortable. Herb is gracious and knowledgable. One of the best (if not the best) rental experience we have had. Will definitely stay again!

Great place for a long weekend

Host was very nice, super personable, and quick to answer any questions. He even gave a good tip about cabs to and from the airport, they were actually cheaper than a ride share. He offered some great suggestions for restaurants and good coffee. The place is about a 10 min ride to Bourbon St, in a quite neighborhood which was nice to come back to after a busy day. The bed slept great! The place offered everything we needed for the long weekend. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Hidden gem

Our Host Herb was great. We never had to ask for anything because it was provided. The location was wonderful and was in walking distance to many restaurants and coffee shops. Finding Leo's Bread was worth the trip. Thanks Herb, We'll be back

My friend and I had the BEST time staying in the Lagniappe Suite!!!! It was comfy and cozy, with a backyard/garden room that was utterly charming. And the bed slept wonderful!!! Wonderful!

A very nice, cozy, nostalgically furnished apartment. The garden can be used and is so beautiful. Herb is a very friendly host, he gave us a warm welcome and told us a lot of interesting things about the house, the surrounding area and New Orleans. There are good restaurants and the New Orleans City Park nearby (the Sculpture Garden is highly recommended). Unfortunately the time was too short, we would love to come back! Best wishes to Herb! I stayed in Dec 2023. Host Herb was so nice and accommodating. The place is everything you want in NOLA. So charming and cozy. I loved my stay and will recommend to anyone heading to NOLA. It is away from the hustle of the Quarter which was exactly what I was looking for.
