Elegant modern accommodations in the heart of Santa Fe's historic East Side. Secluded Studio Casita minutes from the Plaza and Canyon Road. This award winning studio, nestled among pinon and juniper, offers the unique experience of a relaxing get-away just minutes from fine dining, museums, galleries, shopping, cafes, hiking trails and much more.

Whether it's business, pleasure, a romantic getaway or a private retreat, Upper Canyon Studio provides the perfect setting with it's beautiful open plan and interplay of indoor-outdoor space. Open the 12 foot sliding glass doors and the living area seamlessly flows into an elegant, minimalist courtyard. Combining sophisticated design with simplicity and comfort, Upper Canyon Studio is perfect for singles and couples.

This beautiful private, studio has a working kitchen, full bath, living space, queen bed, walk-in closet, courtyard, security system, radiant floor heating, air conditioning, and off street parking.

Payment
Full payment and a signed lease are required. Your signed lease must be received within 24 hours of booking. Tenants pay all payment fees to be deducted from the damage deposit.

Short and long term stays are available. Weekly rates apply to stays of 7 nights or more. Monthly rates apply to stays of 30 consecutive nights or more. Rates and amenities are subject to change without notice, please inquire prior to making a reservation.

A 3 night minimum stay is required except during holidays when a 5 night minimum stay is required. Please contact the owner for more information.

Personal Retreat
Upper Canyon Studio is perfectly suited as a private and peaceful retreat space for creative inspiration, meditation and self-renewal. Resources for yoga, pilates, body work, hot springs, alternative practitioners and healthy food options are provided to make your visit more enjoyable.

Eco-Friendly
At Upper Canyon Studio we are committed to the environment and sustainability. We use and provide only non-toxic, ‘green’ cleaning product, toiletries and recycled paper products; we also recycle and offer (optional) composting for extended stays. This is a non-smoking property and pets are allowed on a case by case basis. We strive to provide a non-toxic, low-allergy environment. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate those with environmental sensitivities, please contact us for further details.

Perfect location, clean, quiet and comfortable

Perfect location, close to everything but off the beaten path so you can decompress. We walked our dog all around the neighborhood and found everything we needed within a 15 minute drive. The studio is very quiet and cozy. The heated floors and adjustable lighting makes everything feel comfortable and calm.

Great! (But with some minor issues)

The place was great, and the host was lovely. The space was clean, and peaceful. The radiant floor heating was perfect for my winter stay. The location was convenient and close to town. Just a couple unexpected issues. After booking, I received a separate lease from the host, which I understand protects the owner, but was surprised to have to read through a legal document for such a short stay. The lease mentioned I’d be responsible for credit card fees, which I agreed to, but assumed were included in what I paid while booking through the app. But after returning home, I was surprised to see an additional charge for 'damages'. The host clarified it wasn't for damages, but was the credit card fee. Even though I understood this, it just didn't feel great to get home and have an additional charge, especially after assuming I’d already paid in full. And honestly a little stressful to see a ‘damages’ message show up in my VRBO messages. But otherwise a pleasant stay.

Wonderful getaway

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay. It was a wonderful getaway tucked into the Santa Fe hillside. We will definitely rebook if we ever return to the area!

Impeccably clean and relaxing stay

The property was wonderful and the host was very helpful. The kitchen was well equipped, and had all that I needed. There was plenty of natural light and windows with beautiful views. It was a perfect distance from anything you’d want to do from the square, railyard district and canyon road. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Great place!

We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for three nights. The place was clean and well stocked. Good communication with the owner. She was there at check in for questions we had. Place is nestled in the mountain side surrounded by pines. Excellent place!

Nature refuge

This "refuge" was perfect for my wife.Susan and I. Waking up to the sounds of birds and sitting on the patio will stay in our memeries. Great Studio! Great location!

I stayed for the whole month of April and enjoyed every minute. It was a great location for me to walk, yet still close to groceries & restaurants. Everything I needed for my stay to be comfortable and I loved the courtyard! Lovely host, very attentive when I needed something yet gave me privacy.

Lovely Long Weekend in Santa Fe

We had a wonderful weekend at Tushita’s place. It’s well appointed and comfortable. Tucked away in a quiet spot in Upper Canyon, it’s very peaceful. She was there to great use when we got there and checkout was very simple. We will definite coming back to stay at the Upper Canyon Studio!

Cool retreat in Santa Fe

The Studio fits us perfect. All the amenities we needed. Comfortable bed. Natural light and quiet. Close to Santa Fe center. Just right amount of dishes, if we were to eat there. We ate out every meal. We would like to stay there again when we come back. Owner very gracious and available as needed.

Perfect Respite From Winter

The studio is small (as expected) but well designed and well appointed - lots of light and privacy. In fact, it’s quite ideal for a couple’s getaway. The location allows for convenient access to restaurants and museums as well as innumerable art galleries. The studio does not have a washer or dryer so packing well is important. We really enjoyed exploring the national parks as well as the local restaurants and would recommend Luminaria Restaurant for brunch as well as Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos, in particular. Market Street grocery store on N. Guadalupe St will have any items you may have forgotten to pack.

Christmas in Santa Fe 2022

I loved the property. It is perfect for one person however two people can be comfortable in the studio. My son (6 ft tall) slept comfortably on the fold down couch. The heating system works great. I loved the heated floors. If your looking for privacy, this is the place. I felt very safe staying there. Thank you!!!!

Ideal location

The host was very helpful and informative. The property had a beautiful view and wildlife, including deer. It was a quiet retreat, but within walking distance of galleries, parks, and restaurants, as well as several hiking trails. The studio was comfortable, clean, and pleasing. I would definitely stay there again.

Upper Canyon Studio is an owner-operated vacation rental, situated on 3/4 acres in the heart of Santa Fe, yet 5 minutes from restaurants, shopping, galleries, museums, and hiking. I purchased the property in 2007, designed, renovated, and began offering it as a vacation rental in 2008. Located off the road and surrounded by pinon and juniper, UCS offers the best of both worlds, a private getaway in the heart of the city.

As a designer, I wanted to create a modern environment, that still maintained a sense of place, which would give travelers a beautiful, peaceful, and unique Santa Fe experience.

Upper Canyon Studio offers an elegant, modern, Santa Fe experience. This private, 525 sq ft studio is both spacious and fully furnished. It has a kitchen, full bath, queen bed, living area, and private courtyard, which includes a café table, lounge chairs and a chiminea. There’s also off-street parking, a security system, air conditioning, and radiant in-floor heating.

We are committed to sustainability and use only natural cleaning products, offer composting, recycling, and provide organic coffee and teas. EV charging is also available for an additional fee. Only professional cleaners and maintenance workers are hired and UCS is certified in Covid safe cleaning practices.

The owner is available 24/7 to address any issues that may arise or to answer questions regarding your visit. A resource folder is provided with local restaurant suggestions, bike rentals, local activities, etc.

At Upper Canyon Studio, our intention is to provide a safe, beautiful and serene environment. A place to come back to and decompress at the end of a busy day or enjoy as a private retreat.
