Escape for the weekend to this serene, beautifully appointed 3-bedroom, 2-bath retreat just seconds from the shores of Sandusky Bay. Direct fishing access is available through the local bar at the end of the street for a small fee ($5). The property can accommodate up to 4 trucks with fishing boats. Thoughtfully designed and fully furnished, this spacious home comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests—perfect for family getaways, friend reunions, or a relaxing retreat.

Unwind under the stars in the new 6-person hot tub, gather around the outdoor fire ring, or cozy up by one of two fireplaces—a gas fireplace in the sun-drenched sunroom and a classic wood-burning fireplace in the living room. (Firewood is provided free of charge for your convenience.) For entertainment, enjoy an Xbox with a collection of games, making downtime just as fun as your adventures out and about.

Location is everything, and this home delivers. You’re within 15 minutes of Cedar Point, Cedar Point Sports Force Park, and the Port Clinton ferries to Kelleys Island, Put-in-Bay, and Middle Bass Island. A local tavern sits just a block away, and a nearby market is only five miles down the road—close enough for convenience, far enough for peace and quiet.

This was the worst place I’ve stayed at, while location was great the house was terrible and the pictures listed weren’t an accurate account of the property (I will be contacting Vrbo directly as I took lots of pictures). There were gnats and bugs everywhere, door frames missing, counters nailed down with nails, very shotty and likely unsafe conditions in the house.

Thank you for your feedback! As we appreciate the feedback and always looking to improve to property continuously, there are cosmetic improvements that will be made going into the off season. As far as the safety of the house, the house conditions are highly regarded in every aspect. As described to all guests, the house is located by the bay which has May Flies, gnats, and spiders due to the area is right near the water. As we always exterminate and spray the outside yard we exhaust every angle. Furthermore, if any guest has an issue regarding of the house please, reach out as our number is listed on the house rules, I can take care of the issue. This guest never did reach out about the issues that were stated.

Lots of room for a large group. We all even had our own recliners. The fridge had a fun white board built into it and we enjoyed leaving each other messages

Property was well described, very clean and well appointed. Super convenient location to area attractions and good food. Preston was great and quick to respond to any communication. If I’m in the area again I’m staying here!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The rooms were as pictured and clean. The living room was great with power recliners so that we could all enjoy watching TV and spending time together. Our adult son enjoyed the side rec room/TV room and spent most of his time there. It’s has a large sectional sofa and TV-a really nice room. The host contacted me several times to ensure everything was good with check in and our stay. We didn’t have any problems occur during our stay but I am sure that if we did, the problem would have been taken care of right away.We never got the chance to try out the hot tub unfortunately due to running out of time.

The Rainbow House is in an excellent location for exploring the shores and all that this area has to offer!We enjoyed this as our "home base" for our trip to Cedar Point. The house had everything we needed and served as a great spot to catch up, wind down, and enjoy our friends trip. The host was quick to respond and offered excellent communication, in general! There is a small bar about a 2-minute walk from the back door that has excellent sunset views right on the water.

The place was very nice and close to all the fun places in Sandusky. We enjoyed the hot tub and the host was great with communication. Theres also a bar / restaurant within walking distance from the place. We had a great time here! Thanks for having us!

Had a wonderful stay. We had our Xmas trip with our adult children. We loved everything about this home. Loved that there was a Xmas tree up. Preston was absolutely amazing with any concerns we had. Loved that he had snacks ready on the table. Definitely would recommend and stay again.

Very nice house in a nice quiet area but still close to Sandusky. We enjoyed the hot tub, and other amenities such as Xbox and board games. Would definitely recommend, it was so much better for our family than staying in separate hotel rooms.

The host went out of his way to communicate with us, answering questions through the vrbo app almost immediately. Once we had checked in, he even provided his cell number so that we could reach him even more quickly.

Girls Weekend

We loved our stay, the house was clean and the beds were comfy. Preston was there for us any time we had a question or needed anything. We will stay here again. The local watering hole was within walking distance and the sunset view from there was amazing!!

This property is located outside of the big city, which means no hearing/waking up to trains, planes, vehicles, loud music, etc. The neighborhood and property is secure and safe. This property may not be total waterfront, but the views within literally two minutes to the bay is spectacular, along with the little diner that is open all year round with a liquor license. This little “big” cottage will have you turning every corner with surprise and awe.
