Relax and Enjoy Keys Style 3BR /3 B W/ Heated Pool and Canal

Bring your boat to this 3 bedroom / 3 bath recently updated home with 50 ft of deep water dockage and a custom HEATED swimming pool (small pool is not). House will comfortably sleep 8 with 1 king bed, 2 queens and two sleeper sofas. Each bedroom has it's own private attached bathroom. You will love waking up or relaxing on the water as the only thing that separates the house from the water is the dock. Master suite has been completely updated with new tile, finishes and standing tub. Boot Key harbor is only 3 houses down the canal. The home is very peaceful and has very private tropical spa like pool in the front with a beautiful flagstone wall. You will instantly feel on vacation as you sit by the pool, kayak or paddle board in the harbor, fish in the canal, go for a bike ride, or take the short 3.5 mile drive to Sombrero beach. We are also minutes from 7 mile bridge if you want to visit Bahia Honda park or take the short 45-50 minute drive to Key West. Sorry no RV parking. There are no bridges and no limits to open water based on low tide.

Please call or e-mail me if you have additional questions. (I usually respond within the hour). Please notice the water outside of the sliding glass doors in both the family room and the bedroom. You are literally right on the water! We catch jacks, mangrove snappers, chubs, barracudas and grunts off the dock for a quick lunch and the pelicans and herons always join you when you are cleaning fish on the concrete fish cleaning station. There is a fishing kayak, a ocean kayak, a 2 man ocean kayak, 3 paddle boards and 4 bicycles included with the rental. The heated spa like pool located in the front of the house is awesome with a bench running the length of it and a separate smaller pool that is great if you want to get away from the splashing kids. All new furniture, AC unit downstairs and appliances.

Saturday to Saturday rentals only from January - August. Please email me if you are looking for alternative dates in September through December.

Family trip

This was a sibling trip, all adults. It was perfect for us because there are two living areas so if you want space it available. The canal in back was fun. We watched manatee several days. We would rent this again.

Excellent relaxating retreat from the cold

We enjoyed the private pool most of our trip. The highlight for me was the manatees that were in the channel every day! The beds are comfortable, the water pressure good, the locale was ideal and the roosters we the ideal alarm clock. We used the 2 person kayak most days. Dave responded any time we had a question.

Family Getaway

Great location, great neighborhood, loved having a pool, bikes, kayaks and paddle boards to use!! Would definitely stay there again. Close to a great beach, grocery stores and restaurants.

Very Nice

Beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath house. 2 living rooms, full kitchen, dinning room, inground pool with easy access canal docking for boat. Owner put some thought into this place as a rental. Kyaks, paddle boards and bikes to use. Super quiet at night and the neighbors are really decent.

New Years trip

This place was amazing! Enjoyed our entire week! Marathon gives you many options for restaurants and grocery stores. Short drive(about an hour) for day trip to Key West! We enjoyed morning coffee on back dock, pool time early afternoon and back to the dock for late afternoons! Owner was super helpful with questions we had!

Great Property!

Nice house, great location close to everything! Tons of space and nice bathrooms. Kids loved the pool and fishing off the dock. Quiet neighborhood. Overall very happy with our christmas vacation in Marathon.

Good stay, bad winds for fishing

Stayed with a group of older guys for fishing. David was very responsive to the few questions we had. Best of all, he delayed the cleaners coming in, so we could leave at our leisure on Saturday which was greatly appreciated. Dock had everything needed, fishing cleaning table; water, even a little float to launch provided kayaks. Kitchen had everything needed. Brand new grill outside. Beds were comfortable, plenty of seating in various places throughout the house. The only negative was 20+ winds all week. So we were forced to relax more, which was okay for some of us. Thanks David, hope to rent there again.

Marathon Get Away

The owner of this VRBO was very accommodating with booking our last minute vacation. We had A/C issues due to dirty filters, but he was very quick on getting a vendor out in an attempt to resolve the matter. Turns out there were deeper issues than just dirty filters. The property itself would be a very nice place to stay if the caretaker did that, took care of the property. There was a lot of shotty work done and cut corners on projects, leaving the overall experience much to be desired. Make sure you bring all paper products, as there isn't even one roll of toilet paper and/or paper towel available upon arrival. I feel for anyone who comes in late on their arrival and has to use the restroom ASAP. This place has a ton of potential, if just a little more time and effort was put into the care and maintenance of this vacation rental and if a little bit more comfort features were available to the guest.

Vacation Dream

Loved this house! Pictures compared to in person experience was very close in comparison. All 3 rooms were spacious and comfortable as well as bathrooms. We enjoyed all parts of the home, the pool was excellent in size and temperature, my kiddos even learned how to swim, barbecue area was very convenient, and dock was great for relaxing and seeing manatees pass by. We didn’t bring a boat but the dock was big, my husband fished everyday off the 7 mile bridge and used the cleaning station which was very convenient. We had an excellent time and wish we could have stayed longer! The host was readily available and answered all my questions while at the property and always helped me with my concerns.

Wonderful for our multigenerational family

The property is spacious and nicely decorated. The appliances and fixtures were top of the line. I wish I had those bathrooms at home and the refrigerator amazed everyone! The pool seemed to be in use all the time. We saw manatees from our dock daily. We caught a variety of fish from the dock, too. The only thing that was bad for our group was the height of the dock. My dad is 81 and couldn’t get down into the boat unless close to high tide. The ladder is not sturdy and the area is very tidal. This would not be a problem for most groups who travel though. We really loved the property. One other thing to note is that being located behind Boot Key makes it a no wake zone for 15+ minutes until you are in open water. Sombrero Beach is right at the end of the no wake if you go left and 7 Mile is right there if you go right. It is an awesome fishing location.

Marathon Key West, Florida.

The house was not very clean. Shower in bedrooms downstairs were sad. The spouts were falling off. Kitchen sink faucet was falling off. Couldn’t really use. I felt bad as I had reserved for a sibling vacation with spouses and everyone was very disappointed in the place. Fire alarm battery died and kept beeping so I replaced battery as it was very annoying. Landscape company came and trimmed palm trees while we’re there and my husband had a situation with some nasty talking from one of them. Was completely uncalled for. Electric went off we tried to cook breakfast one morning. We were using toaster, stove and oven. I guess too much for circuit breaker. Keep tripping them. So we had to reset twice. Will not use this owner again.

Wonderful!!!

Our "Framily" (friends & family) had the absolute best vacation last week! The house and pool were very clean. The house was equipped with everything that we needed and more. The property is very convenient to many restaurants, beaches, shops, grocery stores, etc. We loved fishing off the dock, nightly pool time, and enjoyed the beaches and things to do nearby! I didn't know there were so many chickens in the FL Keys, but we loved them! David was wonderful to work with and quick to answer any questions we had! Would defiantly recommend!

Upon arrival we realized the house did not contain basic supplies needed to meet the requirements of checkout and quality of stay for the price. There was no toilet paper, trash bags, spray cleaner, (so we purchased all for our stay), and most of the remotes did not have batteries. There were 8 bath towels for 8 people. When I reached out to David he was quick to respond, and someone dropped off more towels the next day. Nothing else was addressed. We changed the air filter that was so caked with dust and dirt. Many of the curtains, and fixtures such as bath faucet and toilet paper holder were falling off the wall. One bath tub had half a glass door and the curtain had to be rigged to keep from leaking water out while showering. The front yard had multiple trash cans and an old toilet sitting for pickup. We placed the trashcans on the road line for pickup per instructions and the toilet was still there when we left. I do not feel new renters should be dealing with previous renters trash. The location and neighbors were nice and the house had nice amenities such as dock, and pool. Overall we had a pleasant experience but there is some work to be done as well as management issues for the price paid.

Nice Family Vacay

We had a wonderful family vacation with our kids. Marathon is our go to spot for vacation every year and this year we decided to rent a house that we’d never rented before. It was very clean and check in was very easy. The house itself is located very conveniently on the island to all amenities. We have children with a very big age gap and there was something to do for all of them. The only issues that we had with the property was there was no door to the master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom, located on the first floor, didn’t have a properly fitting door to the bedroom so there wasn’t any privacy. Which, I didn’t even think to ask, but that’s my mistake. Otherwise, the pool is great for the kids and it was a breeze to access the ocean with our boat. The house was fully stocked with kitchenware and all appliances. I would recommend bringing a playpen if you have little ones. We had a great time and really enjoyed our week. There was room for everyone and different spots outside, if you needed a break. The neighborhood is very quiet with a police station and ER a couple of streets away. Everyone in Marathon is very friendly and helpful. It’s so beautiful and peaceful. We visit yearly to catch up with our adult kids and just have everyone together before school starts up again.

Very nice house. But a problem for large boats

The house is very nice and very comfortable. However there's a large hidden sandbar in the harbor just outside the canal that you have to turn into to get to the house. It is virtually unmarked and locals say boaters commonly run aground there. We ran aground and got stuck and incurred $2,000 in damage to our boat.

Home away from home!

Plenty of room with two living rooms and the bedrooms were spacious too! Enjoyed catching/releasing a 7 ft tarpon right off of the dock! The manatees visited us many times during our visit. Just a wonderful stay! We will be back!

Yes that is me with Jimmy Buffett in Chicago! We live a very busy life with 3 kids and a lot of working. There is no better place to enjoy our down time than in the Keys. We searched for the right house for nearly 2 years and we always came back to this house.

The pool and the dock are fantastic. You can walk to Cuba coffee, Overseas, FL Keys Steak and Lobster House, Keys Fisheries and many of our other favorite places. Your boat can be parked a few feet from you at the house and it can be up to 45 feet long. It is one of the few places where you can kayak to bars and restaurants as well. Plus if you want to paddleboard or kayak, you have more than just the canal. You have all of Boot Key harbor, Sister Creek, the mangrove creeks in Boot Key and 1.5 miles to Sombrero Beach and I believe 7 miles around Boot Key in the shallows. It is truly unmatched for kayaking.

We love the water. From sitting on the dock, snorkeling on the reefs, fishing, kayaking or just sitting at the pool, we have everything we need here. Unmatched for Kayaking, when the Atlantic is rough, you can easily get to the Gulf. You are 5 miles from Sombrero reef so you have some of the best snorkeling in the Keys and when you are not out and about, you have sun and shade on the property at all times so you can enjoy being outdoors all the time. With some luck and chum, you can even catch your limit on snappers off the dock. The entire property was given a face lift post Irma and looks amazing. The upstairs was painted and has new tile in 2023. Nothing is dated in this home. Large pool is always heated (small pool is not). The furniture, bikes, kayaks and SUPs (tried inflatables this time) are replaced regularly to keep everything fresh.
