This was an epic experience. We have stayed in many places in Acadia but this was an absolutely gorgeous property! The home owner was so quick to respond and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was the getaway we needed. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home & hospitality.

It's a beautiful and peaceful property. The listing description doesn't emphasize enough how wonderful the waterfront access is. The hosts were responsive, thoughtful, and respected our privacy. They provided coffee, milk, and a bottle of wine. Their restaurant is wonderful too.

The house was in a beautiful location. Quiet and spacious. Enjoyed proximity to the water and thegarden area was lovely. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Communication with the host was timely and very clear on directions and other info. Would love to come back again.

Great location away from the busy areas on the southwest side of the island. The back door walks right down to the bay, making for some nice views. Bedrooms were reasonably sized. The common area is pretty small for 4 people. We did have an issue with the water heater and were unable to reach the owner until the next morning when he came by to show us how to reset it, so most had cold showers after our first hiking day. We didn’t have any other issues with hot water beyond that day.

We stayed in the lower level of the hosts home. We had 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Exactly as they described. We didn’t spend much time there as we were in Acadia Park hiking for the 3 days we were there. It was about a 40-45 min drive to Acadia. There is no AC in the lower level but even in August we were comfortable as they left the windows open for fresh air. We didn’t cook there either but it had an apartment size kitchen. We would stay again. We were a family of four and it would be best if younger kids instead of our twenty something sons. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Very clean, well cared for, supplied very nicely (extra fluffy towels, toiletries, spices, bottle of wine, water). About 30 minutes to Hull Cove Visitor Center (easy drive). Owner lives above and has a dog, didn’t hear them at all.Would stay here again.

On the water

Well-done and nicely decorated space with few added thoughtful touches. Enjoyed the quietness, away from crowds but still easy enough to get into the park. Their restaurant was delicious, best in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean, tidy space. My only recommendation would be blinds in the front bedroom. We didnt mind it during the day but felt uncomfortable at night with no blinds.

We loved our stay! Pictures didn’t do it justice as indoor and outdoor spaces exceeded our expectations. Owners were accomodating, quick to respond, and made every effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Would absolutely stay here again.For those looking to explore Acadia National Park and sourrounding areas, this side of the island was more relaxed, more authentic, cooler in temp, and more laid back. The owners of this space also own a restaurant in Southwest Harbor called Eat -a - Pita, and the food was great. We also ate at Thurston's and would highly recommend both.

Wonderful prperty

The apartment though on the small side was extermely comfortable. We had lovely sunrises over the water. The owners respond quickly to questions. We had a wonderful time at a beautiful prperty. very quickly.

Perfect Acadia Getaway

The pictures do not do this place justice! It is immaculate and well stocked with plenty of towels, pillows and blankets. It is located right on Duck Bay which made it so peaceful. While it is a bit of a drive to Bar Harbor and some of the major Acadia attractions, it is well worth it! Not to mention the amazing restaurant the owners run in one of the nearby harbors. Also would highly recommend trying it out. Clinton and Margaret are top notch hosts!

This apartment is a walkout basement of the owner’s house, but it doesn’t feel like basement. It’s new, bright and warm. The owner is friendly. The place is spotless and well-decorated . It has very good lighting. The kitchen has no oven but there’s BBQ burner outdoor so we made a delicious firewood pizza. The kitchen and bathroom have everything we need. The waterfront view is amazing. The tidal water is shallow. It’s great for swimming kayaks and bird watching. We didn’t use the outside fireplace. The place has a very romantic setting. The seal harbor picnic area about 4mile away is a great place to watch sunset. We caught quite a few fish at dock. It’s definitely a beautiful place to stay for vacation.

The property was beautiful! On the water with an amazing view of the bay. It has a private entrance and we felt we were the only ones there for most of the time. Very comfortable with everything you need. On the Quiet side of the island which we preferred away from the intense crowds of Acadia. The owners have a lovely restaurant in Southwest Harbor that had excellent food! An excellent choice for a peaceful, convenient stay. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!
