Welcome to The Millstream Hideaway Cottage!

This newly renovated 1950s waterfront retreat offers the perfect balance of relaxation and Lancaster charm. Located just 1 mile from Tanger Outlets, Dutch Wonderland, and Sight & Sound Theatre, it’s close to everything yet feels a world away.

Enjoy your private creekside escape with stunning views of mature woodlands and open farmland. Spend your days fishing, kayaking, or paddle boating on the Mill Stream; unwind in the backyard or enjoy the indoor wood burning fireplace. Take a dip in your private hot tub or savor the shared backyard sauna, available to guests of our neighboring cottage.

Inside, The Hideaway Cottage has been thoughtfully restored with modern comfort and timeless style. The open-concept living area features floor-to-ceiling windows, cozy velvet chairs, and a cozy sectional overlooking the water. The custom kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, coffee makers, and everything you need for home-cooked meals.

The primary suite offers a king bed with luxury linens, robes, and a workspace. A second bedroom includes a bunk bed and trundle for a true summer-camp feel. The vintage-inspired bathroom features the original cast-iron tub and premium amenities.

From morning coffee on the front porch to s’mores by the fire pit under ancient sycamores, every detail invites rest and reconnection. Should you wish to travel with family or friends, the neighboring guest cottage can also be reserved.

Run, roam, fish, float, or simply rest — The Millstream Hideaway is where time slows and memories are made.

Beautiful property and home. We had family rent the pool house and the hideaway cottage for a family vacation and the kids utilized the pool all weekend. Had a great time and lots of things to do close by

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. I loved the two large windows in the front and back of the living room. Every time I sat in the living room I felt like I was sitting outside. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The location was really great as well. Thanks so much to our hosts for providing a wonderful place for us to stay.

Absolutely beautiful home that we really enjoyed with my husband and children and Mom. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the view of the creek and the sauna. Being able to use the wood burning fireplace and play provided games was nice too. Would love to come back.

The cottage was a perfect place to stay to celebrate our anniversary and our little girls 2nd birthday. Super close to everything and a cozy place to stay in the evenings. We will definitely be back!

The cottage was very clean and the property is well maintained. The hosts are very informative and check in and out was made easy. The view out the living room window overlooking the back yard and creek is absolutely beautiful. It has a nice stone fireplace and there is a hot tub on the front porch. This is a really nice property and everything you need for the stay is here. If its not it is just a short drive to get it because you are close to everything Lancaster has to offer.

Wonderful Place to Relax

This place was perfect for the small family trip over the weekend. Centrally located to the area while being nestled away from the busy hustle of the main strip. Clean place, very comfortable, and great host! Will definitely be back.

The place was just what we needed for our group including (2) adults and (3) kids. The space was conducive to family time and relaxation. Linens on the beds and towels were high quality and super comfortable. The view from the living room window of the creek in the back was peaceful to look over while having morning coffee. Location was far enough away to have minimal traffic and feel like you’re away from the busy areas, but everything in Lancaster was right around the corner. Communication/responsiveness from the owner was quick. We had a great stay!

What a great property in Lancaster. We come every year and this was a new rental property for us. Everything on the property was as expected and well equipped with the essentials. Excellent communication with the hosts and quick responses. We would be happy to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful cottage. It was tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with quality dishes, glassware and pots and pans. The beds were super comfortable. We loved sitting in the hot tub on the front porch and looking at the stars. The wood burning fireplace was a treat for us as it snowed while we were there and it added to the ambiance. Janelle was an excellent communicator. We can’t wait to return.

Kitchen had everything we needed for morning smoothies which we enjoyed sitting on the chairs overlooking the creek.Location was perfect for our visit to Sight & Sound Theatre.The hostess went above and beyond by helping us with detailed suggestions for dinner out and helping us when we accidentally locked the key in the house!Also, there was a terrible storm and the host cleaned up the downed branches right away.

This review is long overdue. My family stayed here for a weekend for our kids birthdays. We checked out some local attractions and had a great time. The home was very nice, very clean, and nicely decorated. The hot tub and sauna were a hit with the kids and walking along the stream was fun as well. The hosts were great. Great communication throughout. We had an issue with the internet that was resolved in less than 15 minutes while the hosts were out of town. We would definitely recommend!

We had such a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage! It was perfect for our family — my husband, our son, and our niece — and we instantly felt right at home. The hosts’ hospitality truly stood out, they were so welcoming and thoughtful! The cottage itself is beautifully maintained and has such a warm, inviting feel. We loved sitting outside and taking in the peaceful view of the stream — it made for such a relaxing and memorable getaway. Everything about our stay was comfortable and charming from start to finish. We’d absolutely love to return!

Home Away From Home

The house was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed! The location was absolutely perfect as well. Halfway between downtown Lancaster and all the Amish farm activities/Strasburg railroad. The view of the creek in the backyard was stunning, and gives you a perfect sunset view. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet and serene

The hideaway is a lovely house nestled on a shared property with a beautiful cottage. The view of the creek from the large picture window is beautiful and the perfect backdrop to sit and read. The house is immaculate and provides all the luxury needed for a short relaxing stay. The view of the cornfields across from the porch takes you back to days gone by.

Amazing location, beautiful cottage

We had the perfect stay - the cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. The fireplace, paired with the view of the creek (sorta river) was amazing. Host was amazing and we even got to take the row boat out. Location of the cottage is perfect. It was 3 minutes to Dutch wonderland, and 4 to American Movie Theatre. Loved it so much the wife and kids wanted to move in. Book the stay - you won’t regret it!
