This was a lovely weekend retreat - very clean and functional. Super convenient for a small family or couple looking for an escape to the beach and the perfect amount of cozy for a great stay!

Perfect Location, Just as Advertised!

This was the perfect spot for our family of 4 (with 2 young kids) to spend a few days close to the beach. We had everything we needed, and were close to restaurants, attractions, and only a block and half from the beach. We hope to be back for future stays!

We had a wonderful stay at The Surf Shack. Great house for small families…close to the beach, lots of dining options, and the 34th St. Playground.We’ll be back!!

Great location and everything we needed

This place was great! Very well equipped—we like to cook and this place had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, shower was great and I love the comfy porch furniture and pretty flowers. The location is perfect, quick walk to Acme, Wawa and restaurants. The beach is a quick block away.

It was our first time using VRBO to rent a house. The entire process was smooth from the very beginning. The house was spotless and had everything you would need for a week at the beach. I would definitely rent this house again from this host. Was incredibly responsive when I had any questions or concerns. Even left us a nice note and a box of Taffy from Shrivers! Super nice host, great location. Had coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening on the front porch.

Short family getaway

Joe & Holly were awesome host. The communication was great and check-in couldn't have been easier. The place was nicely updated and perfect size for my family of 4. You couldn't beat the location with 2 ice cream shops a 1/2 a block away. The walk to the beach was only 1 block. We would definitely stay again.

Ocean city NJ

Our family enjoyed our visit to ocean city. The apartment was very clean, the space was utilized extremely efficiently. I loved the outside patio. The plants made it feel private and cozy. Thank you for allowing us to stay

Perfect weekend

The Surf Shack was perfect. We were comfy for a short weekend, last minute trip to the beach. Close to everything we needed, within walking distance. We walked to the ACME to grab food supplies and made dinners and breakfasts at the house before 2 great days on the beach. Each room had plenty of space for what we needed, would stay here again in a heartbeat! Hosts are easy to reach if needed. Thank you for a very enjoyable weekend!

Joe and Holly were very good communicators from the start and answered any questions promptly. The Surf Shack is exactly as listed and very well organized. It was perfect for a long weekend getaway for me and my 2 sisters. We’ve stayed all over the island in the past 30 years, but these particular few blocks were new to us. So much within walking distance. The 34th beach access was so nice! We especially enjoyed coffee on the cozy porch and long talks in the kitchen. Don’t hesitate to stay in this cozybeach apt.!

OCNJ Beach trip

We had a terrific stay, home matched description and photos. Good communication with owner. Enjoyed walking to the beach and swimming in the ocean, warmer water than expected. Convenient to places to walk to for meals and treats like the Sandwich Bar (cash/venmo only) near 33rd street entrance and Dot’s, recommend both. Loved reading on the shaded porch. Can tell owners put pride and care in setting up their beach house for others to enjoy. Totally recommend.
