BrookView is an aptly named, enchanting log cabin atop a lovely brook. Set in the woods in Fair Mountain Acres and surrounded by rhododendron, but less than 5 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. This large 2,400 square foot, air-conditioned home provides three outside porches (all furnished with comfortable seating and tables for dining). The top back porch is screened and overlooks the brook. Along with the brook, the secluded one acre lot includes a fire pit for cooking hot dogs or smores with the family.

As you enter BrookView you will find a great room with living area with a two story fireplace, a kitchen and dining area. The living area has a large stone 2-story fireplace with gas logs and a brand new 60” HDTV with a Blu-Ray player and surround sound. The master bedroom is on the main level and comes with a king bed, 50” HDTV, and private bathroom. Upstairs you have the open loft that has a queen bed and overlooks the great room. Also, you will find an upstairs bedroom with a king bed, TV, and another bathroom. Downstairs has four full size beds set up as bunks, a den area, Smart TV, foosball table and full bathroom

This is a perfect location with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Appalachian Ski Mountain, the town of Blowing Rock, the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve, Bass & Trout Lakes, Linville Caverns, Tweetsie Railroad, the Westglow Resort & Spa, the Tanger Shoppes on the Parkway, and much much more!

Loved the house, it was perfect for us. Kitchen had plenty of supplies. Lots of space to store items we brought. Living room was comfy and a great space to relax by the fire. Host responded quickly. Location was great for our weekend plans.

GREAT place - only one snag.

This place is CRAZY nice and CRAZY clean - well done! QUALITY furniture and dishes, etc... the only thing I would suggest is to take down the fire pit as an amenity. Is was completely unusable - and it was one of the things we planned to do every night - so this was a BIG BUMMER! Amenities are the reason we chose certain places, and part of the reason for cost of a rental, so I would at least update that it might not be available. This home was perfection otherwise.

Very nice!!

Our party of four adults really enjoyed the cabin. We mostly treated it like a motel room. No cooking or use of the jacuzzi. But the kitchen was set up well and seemed to have all the equipment and utensils necessary. The decor was rustic without going overboard. Beds were comfy.Great location, Easy access to property. We may certainly return if the need for a larger place arises again.

2025 Girls Trip

This cabin was perfect for a group of 8 women on their annual girls trip. There was plenty of room for all of us and the kitchen is very well equipped for all things cooking indoors. There is even a crockpot for cooking soups and stews to come home to.

Grateful for the fireplace

We had a short 2 day stay at your beautiful mountain property. It was exactly as listed. It was wonderful and spacious. We went to the mountains to be supportive of those who have lost so much to the flooding of Hurricane Helene. We were glad for the fireplace as most of our stay the temperature were cold and the wind blew 20-40 mph. Not the property’s fault. My only complaint was that the occupancy was to begin at 4:00. That is when we arrived and the cleaning lady was there and stayed until after 5:00. She should have been done long before 4:00.

Samaritan's Purse Mission Trip

After hard days giving to the community, it was great coming back to a relaxing environment. Everyone on our team loved the cabin; got a 10 from everyone. Hardest part was getting out of the neighborhood with snow on the road; little dicey. This is a cabin well worth the visit.

Wonderful stay

We traveled with some friends to Blowing Rock to celebrate my husband’s birthday. John was wonderful to work with! Very responsive and welcoming! We even had to go back to pick up an item we left behind and John was so easy to reach! The house was the perfect set up with plenty of space to spread out. The location was great. Very close to both Boone and Blowing Rock. I wish we could have stayed a few more days! We can’t wait to come back and visit again.

My wife and I are originally from Kingsport, TN and Winston-Salem, NC, respectively. I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville while my wife attended Appalachian State University right down the road in Boone, NC. I think we have always loved the mountains. Therefore, in 2004 we designed and built this authentic log cabin for not only our family, but for your family, to enjoy. We have made many great family memories in this cabin. We have also enjoyed bringing both friends and family to Brookview. There are so many wonderful and varied things to do in this area. This is also the place just to sit by the fire or sit out on the porch.

One of the reasons we selected this property is because of its great location. It is so easy to get to from any direction, rain or shine. Everything you wish to do in this area is in close proximity to our cabin. The property itself is beautiful with the stream, the woods, and the rhododendron.

This cabin has been professionally decorated to make you feel like you have stepped directly in a home, rather than a rental. Many of the headboards, tables, nightstands, etc. have been handcrafted with wood directly from the property.
Not only is the cozy inside of the cabin so appealing, but also everything that is available right outside the front door. You can relax in the hammock, sit around the fire pit, play in the brook, or adventure out through the woods. If this is too much activity for you, rest in one of the rockers or swings on the porches and watch everyone else enjoy their outside adventures.
