Sunset Cove was absolutely gorgeousEven with the low Water this summer, we were able to bring our boat and parallel park at the edge of the dock had great front reuniting with family

We found the house to be very accessible for elderly family members. The kitchen was well supplied with all pots and pans you may need. The house was the cleanest we have ever been in in our stays at Smith Mountain Lake. The host was excellent to work with. Answering all our questions in a short response time. Shan even checked with us to be sure everything was going good. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for a quiet time at the lake. We are definitely going to return.

The house was fantastic!! Great location and plenty of room for our family. The Owner was phenomenal and communication was flawless. We will be booking this house again when we come back!

Our group of 10 (7 adults, 3 kids age 10/10/7) had an amazing lake vacation here. House had everything we needed and was comfy and cozy. We used the paddle boards and canoe just about daily. Lots of fishing. Rented a boat from a marina nearby with a tube. House supplied waterskiing equipment. Enjoyed evenings in the hot tub and fire pit. Very peaceful. Would come back. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Long Weekend Getaway

Short summer getaway with some close family and friends. House was perfect with plenty of room for everyone. Lake was beautiful and easily accessible for everyone. Host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend and use for future stays!

Fantastic Vacation!

We had a fabulous time and stunning is an understatement for this home. The weather was hot allowing us to spend many hours in the water and enjoying the spacious dock. The cove is in a great location with less boat traffic. The firepit and dock offer a fantastic view of the sunset. The home was very comfortable with a warm, cozy atmosphere. Plenty of room for our family and provided plenty of amenities.

The house was beautiful! There were 10 of us and everyone slept comfortably. The living areas were very spacious and we especially enjoyed the screened in porch as we sat in rocking chairs and listened to the rain each afternoon. We spent a fair amount of time cooking and found the kitchen to be well stocked. The walking path down to the water was perfect as we had several members in our group that struggle with stairs. The swing on the boat dock was also a big hit. The fire pit was was a perfect way to end the day, watching the sun set over the water and eating s'mores. We brought with us a jet ski and spent a lot of time just floating and swimming down at the dock. We also rented a pontoon boat while we were at the lake. We were there on a family vacation to celebrate our parents' 60th Wedding Anniversary. We have so many special memories from our trip that we will cherish for a lifetime.

We had an excellent experience at Sunset Cove. As a large group of adult friends who vacation together, it can be hard to find a house with enough beds that aren't bunk beds, so this house was great for us. The "work space" with the full bed on the main level functioned as a private bedroom, just doesn't have a closet. Check in was easy, communication with the host was quick and helpful. The house is very spacious and the great room windows face the sunset over the lake. We noticed how exceptionally accessible the property is - wide doorways, roll in shower, stairless outdoor access to both house floors, ramp access to dock, fire pit and beach areas. We enjoyed how shaded the whole property is, as well as how private the dock felt. Kitchen was stocked pretty well, and I'm not sure the listing mentions the wet bar in the great room. With the lake level down 4' during our stay, the ramp to the floating dock was very steep, a bit treacherous even with the hand rail, and the protected beach area was dry, but we were still able to easily dock a pontoon boat and swim very comfortably. There were three sups, two kayaks, and a canoe available. Overall a great house and we hope to be back.

We had a wonderful week at the lake! The house had plenty of room for our group of 5 adults and 5 teenagers, so everyone had space to spread out and relax.The outdoor amenities really made our stay. The dock was stocked with kayaks, multiple paddleboards, and plenty of chairs for relaxing by the water. The firepit was perfectly located, and we spent several evenings there watching some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve seen. The hot tub was another favorite—it was perfect for winding down after a day on the lake or relaxing in the early evening before dinner.The screened-in porch was also a nice bonus. It was great being able to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs. It was a little musty at times, but we lit a candle and used the fans, which made it much more comfortable.A couple of things to keep in mind: the upstairs stayed quite warm, even with the small fans that were provided, and the house is a bit dated. Neither issue took away from our overall experience, but they’re worth mentioning for future guests.Overall, this was a great place for a large family gathering, and we made so many wonderful memories here. We’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious lake house with fantastic outdoor spaces and unforgettable sunsets.
