Lord of the Flies
We stayed at Cozy Kure and we were so excited when we arrived. The home and outdoor area looked beautiful. Looks can be deceiving. We had a fly infestation that was so bad, we could not even sit on the 2 porches and could not sit on the pool deck unless we were submerged in water. I contacted Carolina Beach Realty, who services this property and was told that it is just nature. We spoke to neighbors, who mentioned not having this issue at all. We bought fly traps, and sprayed (with our own money) and that made it so by the final night we were able to sit on the decks. All of these things should have been done by the realty agency when we reached out to them on day 1. I will post the response I got from them about this issue. I can actually say the flies ruined our trip, and made the investment in renting a property like this similar to flushing money down a toilet.
We had other issues with this home, the only light source for the winding stairway did not work for our entire stay. We were told they were waiting on approval to fix it, but I can tell you that it was very dangerous with small kids in a pitch black stairwell and they never got approval the whole week we were here.
While all of this was inconvenient, it was amplified by the lack of action by Carolina Beach Realty. This was a truly disappointing trip. We will not be staying at this home again.
