Adorable Beachy Cottage in the heart of Mission Beach! Close To EVERYTHING!

The perfect place for your perfect beach vacation! This Mission Beach charmer is just 3 doors down from Mission Bay and just a minute's walk to the ocean, Belmont Park and the famous Big Dipper Roller Coaster, as well as many restaurants/activities. The location couldn't be more central!
Great for a family of 4 or two couples. The large patio allows for a great place to relax or have a BBQ! And the one-car garage is a commodity in Mission Beach. With hardwood floors, lots of light in the living room, a flat screen TV, fully stocked kitchen, free wi-fi, and all the beach equipment you will need (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach towels), this is a great place to spend your next vacation. Just bring your flip flops and sunscreen!
We have beach cruisers, a 2 person kayak and paddle boards available for a nominal rental fee, ready for your use when you arrive. Each unit has exclusive use of their own side of the patio with patio table and 4 chairs. Black out curtains in the bedroom are a plus for sleeping in or snoozing after a fun day in the sun.
And if you have a baby, we offer free use of our pack and play, umbrella stroller and portable high chair!

Great location, cute place!!

The location is great! Walking distance to the marina and beach, the park, coffee, food. Paddleboards at the rental were super convenient we were able to just pick up and go. The rental was clean and the patio was perfect.

Great Spot!

We really enjoyed our stay! It is walking distance from Belmont Park and the Bay. The park across the street is great for kids and the Italian restaurant across the street is very good. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely love to stay there again!

Central location- perfect for long weekend

We stayed on Mission Beach for a long weekend celebrating our anniversary. It was perfect. Easy access to everything. The house was very clean and perfect for the two of us. Great place!!

Wonderful cottage!

We had a great vacation! Karin was super responsive and a great host! We could walk or ride bikes most anywhere! She had everything we needed - beach chairs, towels, etc!

real close to the bay and mission beach

Had a nice stay there with a family of 4. the place was clean . probably best with just 2 adults even though my twenty something sons were ok with the futons. its a little tricky getting your car in & out of the garage if you have a car bigger than a midsize sedan. The location is perfect for both bay and beach activities

Perfect Beach Get Away

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary get away in Feb. We had such a wonderful time and the accommodations were perfect. Karin is a wonderful, friendly, organized and thoughtful property owner and very easy to work with. She thought of everything to make our stay here exceptional. The location is a good as it gets in Mission Beach, as it is perfectly situated between the beach and the bay with easy access to both. Starbucks is one block away, as well as downtown Mission Bay with all of the wonderful restaurants and activities. If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable place to enjoy your vacation, this is the place to be. We have stayed in countless vacation rentals and this is one of the best. I highly recommend it.

Garage space is extremely tight and should be mentioned if renting a vehicle. Ensuring the garage door opener or key pad work (key pad had dead batteries and door opener worked sporadically). Minimal to make your stay feel homie (I.e. extra blankets and pillows).

We stayed here for our 15th anniversary trip. The house was perfect for a couple and the location was fantastic, it was close enough to walk to the beach or the bay but be out of the way of heavy foot traffic. We enjoyed the front patio every morning and evening, shade and a nice breeze from the bay. The garage was a bit tight even for our smaller suv, but it did fit and we could still access the beach gear that was in there. The fact that there was AC was fantastic, after a day at the beach AC feels great. We were able to walk right over and eat something without driving anywhere, but the grocery was only 2 miles away if you like to cook in house. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at the cottage was everything we imagined it to be! Our expectations were exceeded & we cannot wait to stay again! The cottage is perfect for our small family, plus two dogs. The accommodations were very clean. The location was perfect for us to be able to walk along the bay or to the beach!

Close to beach

Weather was rainy and cool, but our cottage was cozy and warm! Location was good for beach walking and getting to places in San Diego, LaJolla, Pacific Beach and Ocean BeachWould recommend this host/property.

Amazing home!!

This home was perfect! Had everything we needed for the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and futon. The owner left the cutest message on the kitchen board for our family and fur-babies. The owner made us feel welcomed. She also left my fur-babies treats and dog bowls. The home also had many usable items for the beach. It came with a washer and dryer which was very convenient. It was a perfect home close and walking distance to the beach, bay area, belmont park, shops and restaurants. The owner was also fast with communication and was very kind. I recommend this home 10/10.

Fabulous Stay

The cottage is in the perfect location! Steps from the bay, blocks from the beach and Belmont Park and close to so many restaurants. It had everything you would need including rentable bikes, SUPs and a kayak. Enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the front patio. Garage was a bonus. Karin and Mark were easy to work with and very accommodating. Easy check in and check out process.

Family Visit

We picked this property since it had a garage & our 2021 Ford Explorer fit! The kitchen was like I was at home - it had anything and everything a person could want! We loved the neighborhood.

Great space and access

The property was nicely appointed and provided plenty of room for us. We liked the quick access to the beach and fast path to get to the freeway. The area was largely very quiet day and night.

Great long term stay

Second time staying at this property for 2 months. It’s perfect for one person and could easily accommodate two and a dog (I brought my dog). Property is clean and close to everything I needed. The Fit Athletic club, ocean beach/riffs yoga studio, blue palm coffee shop and the beach and bay. I’ll definitely come back to spend time in the sun! Owner is incredibly responsive and kind as well :)

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!! Within 5 miles or 15 minutes of most attractions. Parking is limited and difficult. Street parking limited and more remote. Off-street parking inside the garage is difficult - Narrow alley-way must be clear and vehicle must be backed into the smaller, narrow garage. (Compact SUV, Toyota RAV4, difficult)

Wonderful!

We loved our stay at Karin's place. The location was awesome, easy access to everything. She was even kind enough to let us check in early so our baby could nap while the place was still being cleaned. We loved the outside porch area, it was perfect for our toddler. I also was very impressed with the kitchen pots/pans, dishes etc. You never know what you are going to get sometimes and we appreciate nice cookware! Thank you Karin for such an awesome stay for our famiy.

Cute, clean and great location

We enjoyed our stay, the cottage is in a great location, walkable to the beach, bay, restaurants and shops. I like that the extra beds are futons and not sofa beds with springs, those are never comfortable. The host was very organized, friendly and quick to respond to our needs. The only challenge for us was parking in the garage. It is narrow and the alley is not very deep. We had to move 5 or 6 yucky trash bins that are stored against the back alley wall in order for me to get in and out of the garage. I have a Ford Flex which was an exact fit. Overall, a great place and we would definitely rent it again.

Review Of Stay

Situated nicely between Mission Beach and Mission Bay. It is of our opinion that a VRBO/ Hotel etc.. should have a Quality bed and linen. This unit did not! Very uncomfortable. Parking was also limited.

My husband, Mark, and I are proud to be the owners of Island Court Cozy Cottage! We purchased this property in June of 2013 and have been enjoying our role as property managers and vacation hosts! We both grew up in San Diego and went to college here so we know the area well! We have 2 kids, ages 25 and 22 now, and have been creating many memories with them in our cottage, when it is not already reserved!

We chose this cottage because we love hanging out in Mission Beach! There seems to be something to do for everyone! We looked at properties for a year and half and knew this would be perfect for us the moment we saw it! We loved the front patio, just being able to relax there with a good book or BBQ with friends. We also felt the location was ideal, as it is within walking distance of everything we like to do ~ biking on the boardwalk, taking the kids to the roller coaster, swimming in the ocean or jogging along the bay... We've had a lot of fun remodeling and creating a comfortable, beachy home away from home, always looking for ways to make it even more perfect for our guests!

Beach rental shops on the same block (or if you don't want to pay the higher prices, we have 4 beach cruisers, a kayak and 2 paddle boards available to rent for next to nothing!!) We also have baby items for your use, including a pack and play, high chair, and umbrella stroller. Washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, garage, wi-fi, videos, AC, boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs and beach towels all included. And I am always available if you have any questions or need anything! It is my pleasure taking good care of my guests!!!
