Fabulous Ventura!

Inviting beautiful beach cottage with plenty of room for our party of 8. Beach was a 2 min walk down a quiet street. Mary Kay was a very attentive host. She made sure we had everything we needed. We took advantage of the 2 bikes that were included in the rental. So many things to do in spectacular Ventura including biking, kayaking the Channel Islands, seeing the theme parks, & of course just relaxing. The backyard was a perfect setting for hanging out and enjoying a home cooked meal. We had such a wonderful time and created so many precious memories. Thank you Orange Door for being the perfect setting for our get together by the ocean! Margaret (June 2018)

Such a perfect house for a family get-away. Comfy and well-equipped.

This lovely home was such a treat to visit. Great location, comfortable beds. Nicely furnished and decorated. We used the kitchen every day and never lacked a pan or dish. Fantastic host who was easy to communicate with. We will be back.

Absolute delight

2nd time renting this property. Homeowner very easy to work with. Great backyard to visit with friends and family in the evenings. Close to restaurants, grocery store, coffee/tea, doughnuts in the morning, harbor.

Charming beach cottage

We stayed for March and April at 1362 Camden Lane. We would loved to have spent the entire winter there, but this is a popular destination. The landlords are helpful and friendly. We never had any issues they didn't deal with immediately. They responded to all or our requests. We love winters in Ventura and this is a perfect place to call home.

Perfect Getaway Place

The Orange Door Bungalow was just perfect for a "Galifornia Getaway" for my daughter, two granddaughters, and me. The inside was just as welcoming as the outside and very comfortable. The lovely backyard was a welcome surprise. We loved our daily beach walks - so convenient - as well as visiting local sites. We're just looking for an excuse to return!

The house is adorable and very cozy. The owner is very thoughtful and communicated well with us.

The house contains everything you need . There were 5 of us all adults and we were very comfortable. The weather in winter is magical.

Beautiful home away from home!

Wonderful place to stay with all of the amenities. Right next to the beach which is clean and a nice stretch of beach. Very dog friendly. 2 blocks from the park and locals are friendly!

A bungalow near the beach

Usually when I hear the word "bungalow" I think of stripped down, surf locations, but this bungalow is really a fully outfitted little home. It has a really comfortable kitchen and sitting area with truly comfy sofas. The other rooms are small but equally comfortable for sleeping with REALLY GOOD beds, linens, pillows and the like. Mary Kay was lovely and went out of her way to greet us, answer questions and welcome us after a long ride up with banana nut bread and early access to the bungalow. The neighborhood is quiet and truly the beach is at the end of Camden lane. The yard is spacious and set up for sitting outside, showering off the beach and simply enjoying. We were five adults and the house was perfect for us, but with children there are other fun features like a separate sleeping outbuilding in a very safe yard. We will be back!

Perfect Stay

I've stayed in several rentals in Ventura County. This one was one of the best. Very cozy, great location, well decorated. The owner was great and easy to work with. I will definitely recommend to family and stay here again

Great place for a family to stay in Ventura!

The orange door bungalow is in a perfect place to enjoy Ventura. It's just a few steps from the beach and a short walk to stores. The house was very clean, decorated nicely, and though it's small was spacious enough for seven. We had a great stay and will stay here again when we come back to Ventura!

GREAT VACATION

this is a great get away place . from the time we got there there was this beachy feeling . the beach is a short walk and it is a great quiet beach. we felt like we had our own private beach. t he house was clean and updated with everything we needed I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great beach experience

Great Family Beach House

This beach house has everything a family needs to spend a very enjoyable week in Ventura. We have great memories of beach time in Ventura since our youth and specifically look for housing in the Pierpont area. For a small home, there is plenty of seating indoors and out. Very comfortable beds (king and queen) with twins in third bedroom and cabana more suited to children/teens. Nice backyard with outdoor shower. Small dog friendly. Be aware of the need to make time to launder all sheets and towels before checkout. Mary made sure we had everything we needed at check in and was very accessible for anything else that came up. We appreciated her attentiveness :) We love this neighborhood because of it's close proximity to the beach, local restaurants, and stores. We hope to be back next summer :)

Perfect for the whole family!

The Orange Door Bungalow should be the title of a book describing the perfect place to relax and connect with family and friends. I flew from Pennsylvania to see my grandchildren after over a year of battling cancer and couldn't have found a more perfect place to celebrate my victory over cancer with those I love! The bungalow is so cozy, clean and well stocked. The yard is beautiful and secure to allow the children and dog to play; the 2 bed studio in the back became my grandchildren's "club house"...they had so much fun playing while we relaxed at one of the 3 seating areas in the yard. The outdoor shower was so helpful for all of us, especially Barkley the dog! The short walk to the beautiful beach was heaven! Hearing the waves at night while we felt the gentle ocean breezes coming in the windows was the perfect way to fall asleep. We enjoyed having the Marina Park, Harbor and many restaurants so close by. The peace, quiet and beauty of our days here renewed and refreshed all of us, and we can't wait to return!

Great house that's really close to the beach!

we just got home from spending a week at Mary Kay's beach house and were very sad to leave. We had such a great time. The house is comfortable and well maintained. It had everything we needed, including all the kitchen essentials. We spent every day at the beach and quality family time together each evening, which is becoming more rare as the kids get older. We loved it! We hope to come back next year! Thank you Mary Kay!

Very clean, well maintained home with many personal touches.

Just returned home from a wonderful week at Mary Kay's beach house. Our group included grandparents, children and grandchildren and allowed us quality time together in a beautiful beach setting. What a treat for our grandsons to take an early morning walk on the beach with grandpa while mom and dad were still sleeping. Day excursions included Solvang and Santa Barbara Zoo. Evening walks on the beach and many games of UNO was great fun for our family. Thank you Mary Kay for a wonderful place to create wonderful memories!

It's all GOOD!!!!

There is NO WAY there could have been a better property for our trip to Ventura this past weekend! Mary Kay was so kind, and her home was so very perfect! We are two families of four plus one puppy, so the backyard with separate quarters made the space exactly what we needed! The VRBO pictures and descriptions are accurate. The home is absolutely spotless. The beds were comfortable with great linens. One thing I think she may have failed to mention is just how close the property is to the beach! It's maybe five houses away from the entrance to the beach; however, the home sits on a narrow, quiet street, so there is no vehicle or pedestrian traffic on the street other than those who reside there. Because Ventura's beachy restaurant row was only a half mile away, we walked to Kay's Coffee Shop (no relation) for coffee every morning, as well as lunch and dinner most days. The kids used the bikes Mary Kay provided to ride to the park and to the doughnut shop. Really...if we are in Ventura again for vacation, we'll be calling Mary Kay to rent from her!

Go orange!

The orange door is just the beginning of our special stay in Ventura, CA! I was visiting from Tennessee (Go Vols) and from that first wonderful touch to the charming decorating throughout, I was taken back to old summer days spent in Newport Beach. I am very familiar with beach rental bungalows and this one is top of my list. It was so clean, had wonderful little nooks for quiet reading under the palm trees out back and a few steps to watch waves at sunrise with coffee and then walks with family at sunset made it a special location. (Can you tell I miss the ocean!) Thanks a million to the owner, Mary, who obviously loves her wonderful town and has won me over to Ventura. Couldn't have been more memorable.

Charming lil beach house.

Great place on the beach. It was a spur of the moment trip, Mary's place is awesome. Close to the beach and super cozy and quaint. Will definitely be on first choice again when I am in Ventura

spur of the moment beach vacation

We had a excellent time in ventura, upon arrival everything was cozy and beautiful. The home was nicely decorated and the backyard was awesome, it is a great place to entertain at. The house was super close to the beach, and shopping, right off the 101 easy to find. I will definitely revisit this cozy place in the future. Thanks Mary!

Springbreak

Wonderful beach bungalow in a great little beach community. The only complaint I have is we weren't able to stay longer. Very cozy place had everything we needed and more. Just steps to the beach and a short walk to marina park. Awesome restaurants right in the community and just a short drive to historic downtown Venture. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Wonderful Christmas In Ventura! Dec. 21 to Jan. 4, 2016

Our two week stay was the best Christmas ever. Both my daughters live in Santa Barbara and Ventura, so we were able to spend lots of family time with our girls without having them traveling to Santa Cruz where we live. The house is so cozy and warm. Mary Kay had homemade Christmas cookies waiting for us and the best part was being able to bring our furry babies with us. Gidget and Chance loved the beach and the yard and had a great time being with the family. the house had all that was necessary and i highly recommend staying here to enjoy beach life. We hope to return for another holiday stay ver soon.

Family gathering in Ventura

Mary Kay's cottage has a wonderful location. Close to the beach. No traffic noise but we could here the surf at night. We were fortunate to see the "King" tides- huge waves pounding the beach- very exciting. Could walk to everything and loved sitting in the sun on the back patio. Everything was perfect during our visit.

Great Getaway for anyone

Mary Kay has such a great property with all the amenities. I have been at other VRBO properties and Mary Kay has everything needed for an extended stay!!! The neighborhood was great with great access to the beach and nearby park. The house is centrally located to downtown Ventura and the boardwalk. We were never bored! There was not one single problem. Mary Kay was a wonderful thoughtful owner who was very attentive to our needs! The property has a nice backyard that is perfect for a dog and the beach down the street was full of people walking/playing with a their dogs. It was a perfect doggie haven!! Thank you Mary Kay!!!!

We transplanted here 13 years ago from LA, which we loved, except for the density, traffic, and daily grind. Now we live just blocks from the vacation rental house and are delighted to share this special place with others.

We purchased the beach house from a friend who cherished it. She had a sterling reputation for gracious hospitality. We were honored that she offered the house to us when she decided to follow her dream to work as a full-time writer.

Our bungalow lets you experience classic SoCal small town beach living as it was 50 years ago. The Pierpont Lanes are relaxed, friendly, clean, safe, and quiet. Pierpont Beach is one of the very few in California where you are allowed to walk your dog, always on a leash. Many locals and visitors say our neighborhood is a throwback to simpler times, but in the very best way.

You can take a leisurely stroll along the sand while gazing at a majestic sunset, get a great meal on Seaward Avenue, and stop for Surfin' Yogurt on the way home. Shorts, tee shirts, and flip flops are the local uniform.

Our comfortable environment is suited for one to six people, plus up to two dogs under 25 lbs. Whether your objective is to build sandcastles with the kids, write the great American novel, or live like the locals while in Ventura on business, our beach bungalow half a block away from the beautiful Pacific, is just the ticket.
