CEDAR CREST CABIN NEAR DOUGLAS LAKE. 30 MILES AWAY FROM GATLIN BURG.

We are excited to have the opportunity to help you experience the beautiful Tennessee mountain views that we have grown to love. Our quaint “hillbilly” cabin is an older fixture of the area and no-one is sure exactly when it was built. Over the years there have been numerous modifications and updates. We have recently expanded the size of the cabin and also added a 12'x16' deck on the west side so that you may view the gorgeous sunsets at the end of your day while grilling your favorite meal on the new gas grill. Sit under the umbrella and enjoy! The roof has been completely replaced and the whole inside has been refurbished. Great care was taken to maintain the country feel. Through dedication to detail and lots of hard work the cabin is now up to rental standards and we hope that your visit will be both comfortable and memorable!
The cabin offers two bedrooms, each with its own queen size bed. The master bedroom is next to the full bathroom and a full vanity/mirror has been added to the second bedroom for your convenience, as well as a full size washer and dryer. The kitchen has been expanded and is fully equipped. The living room is newly furnished and offers a 50” HDTV, DVD, and free WIFI.
Additional parking available for camper,boat and trailer.

Only a quarter of a mile from Douglas Lake and one mile from a good size, well maintained, public boat launch.

Approximately 30 minutes from the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. This community is known world wide for its beautiful Smokey Mountain National Park. Also home to Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium, Ogle's Water Park, numerous theaters, museums, restaurants, and shopping outlets.
Located centrally between the towns of Newport and White Pine. Newport is the bigger of the two towns and offers plenty of restaurants, stores, and medical facilities for your convenience. White Pine is home to the White Pine Golf Club!
Located on a good solid black top road . Property has additional parking for boat and/or camper. This cabin is not in a “cabin city” but on its own piece of private property on one wooded acre and offers seclusion from neighbors. Property is located so that you can enjoy yourself and not fight summer traffic! Beautiful country roads take you where you want to go and the driving time to any and all tourist attractions is cut in half.

Great cabin

Great little cabin! It was perfect for our 3 night stay and commute to see family plus visit Pigeon Forge. The host was immediately available upon check-in to assure everything was in order for us, which it was. We didn't need for anything while we were there. We will book again when we come back.

Mountain cabin

We had a great vacation at this cabin. If you want to be away from commercialized areas this cabin is for you. But in a good location to drive 30- hour to get to everything you need or want to see. The owner was nice and personable and helpful. We’ll definitely be back to this cabin.

Nice cabin

Nice little cabin not to far from Gatlinburg. We had a nice stay in the cabin. Would definitely recommend staying here. Communication was great and everything was clean and well kept.

Beautiful cozy cabin

This was a wonderful property that was exactly as advertised, beautiful inside in a picturesque area. We arrived and had no problems checking into the property. The owner was responsive and extremely kind, offering a comprehensive list of resources for our stay and adventures in the area. I would gladly stay at this cabin again if in the area!

Lovely lake days!

We had a great experience at this cabin. It is small and cozy! It was perfect for our family of five. We enjoyed our days on Douglas Lake. The location was very convenient for the lake and there were stores and restaurants close by.

Little Cabin in The Hills

We have stayed in this cabin three times and each time is better than the last time. The beds are comfortable and it is in a quiet neighborhood. The cabin has been very nicely remodeled and it is a joy to stay in. Tom the caretaker is always there to help if you need anything.

Our stay

Pictures were deceiving and descriptions, driveway rough and parking with boat not good at all. Yard not well maintained. Just not what we expected with pictures and good ratings on website. We left a day early.

Perfect location, awesome property owner!

We use VRBO three or more times a year and we have visited Eastern Tennessee half a dozen times over the past five years. This cabin is perfect for a couple or family that want to enjoy the area as you are only minutes from the lake and mountains or if you need a central location to venture further as we did. We explored: Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, Newport, Cosby, Greeneville, and Johnson City all from this centrally located cabin. There are multiple wineries, restaurants and historic sites all within a 30 minute drive of the cabin. The lake has multiple boat ramps and a marina. We were even treated to deer sightings in the middle of the day. We will be back again soon.

Warm and cozy. Much love went into remodeling and decorating!

My husband and I wanted a nice place to relax off the beaten path. It is close enough to the main attractions of Gatlinberg if you care to and we actually contemplated going to Dollyworld on Sunday, but the reminants of Hurricane Nate kept us close to the cabin. After a little breakfast in a local deli/gas station we drove past the cabin up the mountain and saw beautiful landscapes and the change of seasons. Just breath taking!! We are from Miami, FL, so this was special for us. We saw some deer on the drive as well as in front of the cabin. Inside there is a huge TV, perfect for football watching! The caretaker, Tom was was very nice and accomating, gave us names of local places to eat. Yes, we would definitely book this cabin again!

Great Place for our getaway

Flat Creek has been completely updated with central AC, big screen TV and Dish TV, plus satellite wifi (limited bandwidth - of you super fast high-speed all the time, this is not for you). About the cabin: * Very clean and neat. Good size kitchen and bedrooms, washer and dryer. One bathroom with a neat sky light. * Back Deck with gas grill and nice patio set * The was plenty of room to park our 18ft boat and have room for our SUV. * This is an "old" cabin and the floors are uneven from room to room, but it is part of the charm. Not far from Douglas Lake and a TVA boat ramp with plenty of parking and no launch fees. We were there to fish and site see. Great base for heading to the Smokies and other attractions.

Peaceful property in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to touristy pursuits; fast return of deposit

I have rented through VRBO/Home Away three times this year. While I was satisfied with each rental, this rental was unique in that the property is so well maintained. Truly, the furnishings were as nice as those I have in my home, and nicer than most rentals. For example, the deck chairs are nice, comfy chairs, not the plastic chairs you find in some rentals, and the living room furniture and television are extremely nice. Moreover, there are extra touches that make this feel like a home, not a rental: cookbooks, beautiful decor (map and other items in living room), and everything you could possibly need to cook/clean/make your stay enjoyable. Also in relation to furnishings, sometimes VRBOs might not have enough furniture for the unit itself, meaning the place supposedly sleeps 6, but there are only 4 kitchen chairs, or inadequate seating in other areas. This rental is complete. Frankly, when you see how nice it is, you will understand the need for a damage deposit. If you are looking for a quiet place for family, the yard beneath the deck would provide space for kids to play outside. It is an appreciable distance from the road. The wi-fi is good, the TV in the living room is massive, and the owners even have some DVR movies. As far as touristy-type entertainment goes, it is about half an hour to Great Smokies Flea Market, and about an hour from Pigeon Forge & Johnson City. I wanted a peaceful area that was decently close to shopping and sight-seeing, and this rental exceeded expectations in that respect. As another reviewer said, the Brandywine Steakhouse (10 minutes away) is a fabulous place for good eats and family-friendly vibe. If you like Bluegrass/Country, go on Thursday evening for the live band. There is adequate parking for three vehicles right in front of the cabin. As far as owner responsiveness, they are just a call away. We could not figure out the TV remote, and within 15 minutes the owner coached me through the right buttons to push via phone. During the visit, the caretaker called to ask if everything was going okay, and did we need anything. Also, at the end of the rental, the owner phoned the next day to thank us for staying with them, and to inform me my deposit was refunded. My family and I sure hope this place is available next summer when we book our annual Tennessee trip. It's the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and have family time. This property was a very cozy and welcoming feel my boys and i liked it being close to a couple boat ramps the place was clean and had everything you needed,would definitely stay again.Also got to learn a little about owners and heritage and history of place.Worth staying Tku.

Our home is located in northern Wisconsin where winters are extremely cold. Our son lives in Tennessee near our cabin and after four visits to the area we made a decision to purchase a cabin and spend our winters here. The beauty of the area also played a major role in our decision. We have traveled extensively around the world and had the opportunity of living in Switzerland for five years while I was employed with Control Data Corporation. The mountains near our cabin remind us of the Jura Mountains in Switzerland.

We purchased the cabin in February of 2013 and commenced the major remodeling process starting 2014. Our traveling experiences have educated us in what is required for a comfortable stay in a place away from home. Hotels never gave us the feeling of tranquility. Our goal was to offer you a home style visit where you can enjoy yourself as though you were at your own house. If we have learned anything through the years it has been that there is nothing that beats winding down after a long day in a comfortable environment. Sit back, relax, and enjoy our home.
