Our cozy Cadillac Mtn Yurt sleeps up to four guests and offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Yurts are circular, tent-like structures with a wood lattice frame and sturdy canvas exterior-an ancient design originating from the nomadic tribes of Asia. Today, modern yurts have become a popular vacation experience from coast to coast, offering a memorable alternative to traditional lodging.
Inside, you'll find a warm, inviting space thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials. The yurt features a comfortable queen bed and a queen-size sleeper sofa, making it ideal for couples, friends, or small families. The kitchenette is equipped with a ¾ refrigerator, apartment-size stove and oven, sink, and all necessary cookware and dishware for simple meal prep.
A full bathroom with a stand-up shower adds everyday comfort, while the efficient heat pump and air conditioning keep the space cozy year-round. All linens are provided for your convenience.
Whether you're exploring Acadia National Park, relaxing on Mount Desert Island, or simply looking to try something new, this yurt offers a peaceful and distinctive home base for your Maine adventure.

Our yurt was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of space to spread out and the grounds were wonderful. A great place to come "home" to after being out hiking and biking. So peaceful in Southwest Harbor. Our only complaint was the small shower and limited number of towels for 5 days. On site laundry was great too.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the shower and towels. The shower is a standard stall shower, which is shown in our listing photos, and as an eco-friendly property, we encourage guests to reuse towels and linens throughout their stay since we do not provide daily housekeeping. We truly appreciate your understanding and are so happy you enjoyed your time with us!

Highly recommend this Yurt experience! Fantastic accommodations and hosts were super responsive! Perfect way to experience Acadia on the quiet side of the park and stay close to nature with the amenities of a flush toilet and shower. Beautifully decorated with everything you need!

Had such a a great time and the yurts are on the quiet side of Acadia. It lets you do some exploring on other parts of MDI and you don't need to go to Bar Harbor for everything. Loved it!

A great week in an exquisite setting. Enjoyed exploring Acadia National Park and surrounding area. It was wonderful to return each evening to this delightful retreat space in the woods.

Excellent Retreat
Wonderful stay on the quiet side of MDI. Enjoyed Acadia and relaxing in the yurt after active days outside. Highly recommend, plan to visit again!

Wonderful Place
We absolutely loved our stay at Acadia Yurts! The location was great.The yurt is beautiful and everything was very clean and organized. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, quiet forest retreat
We loved Acadia Yurts! Our yurt was clean and well-stocked. We were able to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. It was great being so close to the park, as we spent our days hiking. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, unique place to stay!

We loved our stay!
The way the property was setup was absolutely perfect. Beautiful natural landscape setting. Peaceful and relaxing. The yurt was spectacular!

Little Yurt in the Big Woods
What a charming, cute, comfortable place!! We loved our stay near beautiful Acadia National Park in this cozy and unique setting and would absolutely come again. Quiet and pretty, offered everything we needed, and the hosts were so nice!

The best managed property I have ever stayed at. Superb communication with Aaron and Karen. We cooked in every night and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The pots and pans and dishes and glassware were high quality and the kitchen was spotless.

Yurt in Acadia
It was our first time staying in a Yurt and we LOVED it ! So spacious, owners thought of everything, very clean and close to Acadia . We will definitely be coming back .

Anfitrión: Karen Roper
Aaron is a Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.
Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite (pending availability).
As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home; running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We truly hope you enjoy our property and your time here as much as we do.
