Newly renovated 2 bedroom, 2 bath resort condo. 150' giant waterslide!

Welcome to “A Place At The Beach III”, Atlantic Beach’s premier vacation resort! In addition to the beautiful, wide, white sand beach and gorgeous views, enjoy numerous amenities (outlined below) included at no additional charge at this family-friendly complex.
'Lorna Dune' is a third floor 2 BR/2 BA unit with ocean and sound views from the deck. The master bedroom features a queen bed, a private bathroom and private entrance to the balcony. The second (front) bedroom has large, sturdy bunk beds (full over queen with stairs instead of a ladder). Six can sleep comfortably in this unit.

A fully-equipped kitchen has a full-size washer and dryer, new cabinets and quartz countertops. The former wet bar in the living area is now a workstation with new cabinet, quartz countertop and electrical outlets with USB ports. Free wireless broadband internet is provided.

A Place At The Beach III offers more amenities than any other resort on the Crystal Coast. The oceanfront location of the resort allows immediate access to the beach without crossing any streets. The large outdoor pool offers a wade-in area for toddlers as well as the only giant water slide in Atlantic Beach. A central courtyard also features an updated kid's playground and a large grassy area as well as outdoor charcoal grills. An indoor pool with hot tub and a deck with gas grills are only a few steps from this unit. The resort also includes lighted tennis courts, cornhole, shuffleboard, 9-hole mini-golf course, ping-pong table (all necessary sports equipment included), and an outdoor hot tub. An on-site store offers beach bicycles and movies for rent, as well as convenience items. Knowledgeable resort staff are on the premises to help with any questions you may have.

The surrounding area offers lots of additional attractions. Morehead City and Beaufort are a short drive away, and beautiful, historic Fort Macon State Park is within walking distance. The beautiful NC aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is about a 15 minute drive. Surf, pier, and charter fishing (inlet and deep sea) is available year round. Fresh local seafood is served at many nearby restaurants and fish markets. Grocery stores, shopping centers and a movie cinema are all within a few minutes drive.

Weekend fishing trip

The place was great. My son and I stayed there while away for a weekend fishing trip. We had to change weekends at the last minute and Victoria was very accommodating and flexible. Condo was clean, easy to access and perfect for our needs.

Relaxing Beautiful Condo

Once you walk into Victoria's condo you feel calm and relaxed. You can tell by all the personal touches she has added that she cares about her guests and wants them to have an enjoyable vacation. Staying here with my family has always been a wonderful time and when vacation is over no one wants to leave!! Awesome Getaway!

Owner communicated clearly well in advance so we knew what to expect on our arrival! Our stay exceeded our expectations. The amenities of this resort provided much fun and relaxation - which was needed beyond words. We enjoyed relaxing on-site but took a quick ride into Beaufort for some amazing dining, and of course a ferry trip to see the Shackleford Ponies. We will definitely consider renting this particular unit again! The condo was well stocked and comfortable!!

Nice condo but uncomfortable sleeping conditions, bring sleep mask!!

The morning of our arrival I contacted owner via email and text asking about a late check out of noon. Got not response. Upon arrival at condo at 4 arrived to find the condo not cleaned at all beds not changed and made etc. Texted owner pics of the situation and no response. Called and she finally answered. Owner was upset and apologetic. At this point I offered to change and make the beds myself. She refused and said housekeeper was on her way. Wanted my husband and to go out to dinner on the housekeeper to make up for it at 4 pm while they cleaned. We did not want to do this because we were waiting on the other couple staying with us and my husband couldn't even eat at that time cause we were in town for a power lifting competition in which he had to weigh in. She asked what she could do to make it right and I said a monetary refund but she refused that and wanted the housekeeper to pay for dinner. I also told her I would think about it. That evening finally get a text from her stating we don't have to check out till 1pm. Not what I asked for! I sent her receipts for dinner and told her that a late check out was no longer necessary. I STILL haven't heard from her. Texted as instructed upon departure and still no acknowledgement. The bunk bed room desperately needs a blackout curtain! Its like a torture chamber with the lights from the condo hallway flooding through the blinds. The master bedroom bed squeaks every time you make a move.

A mini vacation at Atlantic Beach

This property was exactly as described online. It was clean and comfortable, and perfectly arranged for our family of four. The mattresses were super comfortable. Both the pool and the beach were just a short walk away. The best part was how well stocked the rental was. Linens, coffee filters, soaps and detergents- everything was provided and we just needed to show up. Made our mini vacation super easy!

Wonderful stay

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Victoria’s place. I’ve stayed at many rentals at A Place at the Beach and this is by far the nicest one. Everything is so nice and you can clearly tell it has been recently renovated. All the beds were super comfortable and my kids LOVED the bunk beds. Condo is in a great location to the indoor/outdoor pool and you have a view from the ocean from the balcony. This quickly became our favorite unit to stay in. We will be back!

Wonderful Condo

We had a excellent vacation. Our girls loved the large bunk beds and the stairs had enough storage to put their things in. The fan in the room was nice since they are used to sleeping with one. Only wish was that there was a nightlight in that room. The bathrooms were great and a good amount of towels. We loved there were some card games, movies and sand toys. Very thankful for the washer and dryer and the patio furniture was really nice! Thank you for allowing us to stay !

The location is great, with easy beach and pool access. The unit was spacious and had everything we needed. We had plenty of room with four people. The host was responsive and communicated instructions well in advance. We were able to check-in easily after hours. This will be our go-to place for beach trips!

3rd year staying here and already booked for 4th

This is our 3rd year staying at Lorna Dune and I’ve already booked for next year too. When we walked in this time we were wowed! New paint colors, countertops, tile, and decor. The bathtub in the master room is now a walk in tiled shower. Mrs Benson is great with communication and we always have everything we need while we are there. The condo is always clean and the location is central to the elevator, both pools, and the beach. We travel with two small children and we have plenty of space for all of our things. The beds are super comfortable for our week long stays. This has easily become our place to vacation every year. Always a 5 star stay!

No personal space

The room was nice however, the master bed was awful. Everytime you moved it made loud noises to the the point where one of us couldn’t roll over without it waking the other. There’s also a dip in the center of the bed making it miserable to sleep on. The owner has gone out of the way to make the house feel like home but in doing so… there is basically no closet space and no where to put your suitcases. There are so many decorative pillows and extra bedding, plus a lockable storage closet inside BOTH of the closets that there was hardly room for our belongings. We had to constantly relocate our suitcases as there was no space to store them. The unit provides everything you could need in the kitchen including a drawer with sharp knives just floating around with the spatulas. The hall bathroom door lock was broken on our arrival but the owner said they would repair it between us and the next guest. Lastly we were required to put a load of towels in the washer before we left, isn’t that what a cleaning fee is for?

Amazing vacation

The condo was clean and nicely decorated. The updated bathrooms were nice. The kitchen was well stocked and the Keurig machine was a great amenity to have. The views of the ocean from the kitchen and deck were a plus. The check in and check out process was very easy. We have stayed at other condos at the resort previously and this was by far the best one of all. We would stay here again. The only small issue we had was the master bedroom cable box didn’t work.

We LOVE the Lorna Dune

Our family loves staying at Lorna Dune and APATB. No matter the weather, there is always something to do at the resort. My husband and I needed a cool and dreary day Sunday to just relax and chill in the condo and later in the hot tub. The rest of the week was amazing with weather so we enjoyed the entertainment at the outdoor pool and fun on the beach. We can't wait to be back next year!

Fantastic Unit

Victoria has put so much thought into creating a perfect beach vacation place. Every little detail made our stay just wonderful! The kitchen has everything you can think of to make meals and snacks etc! The beds are prob most comfortable I’ve ever slept in on a vacation! She’s an outstanding host as well❤️

Lorna Dune in the Fall

We rented Lorna Dune for 2 weeks. Had never been on this end of the island and the property was lovely, pool was still open and we were able to check in early! Victoria even left us champagne in the fridge as she knew we were celebrating a special occasion. Paper products were provided and ample for our stay. It is a bit dark if you like to read but all in all a great place!

Hi, my name is Victoria and this is my husband, Dennis! I'm from North Carolina and I've been vacationing in the Atlantic Beach area for all of my adult life. When my daughter, Lorna, was very young I decided to invest in a condo at our favorite resort, A Place At The Beach III. I have never regretted this decision; my family has enjoyed our home away from home so very much. Great memories, wonderful times!

A Place At The Beach III simply has the best amenities of any resort on the Crystal Coast. The grounds are beautifully kept and the beach is wide, white and all you could ask for. If you want something to do or see there are literally countless options, but there is still a hometown feel to the area, which is not as commercialized as some others are. This resort is family-friendly and I do feel very safe here, as the security on the property is vigilant but not overbearing.

The condo is my pride and joy! It is newly upgraded and completely renovated. There are many fine restaurants and things to do in the area. I particularly enjoy the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and visiting Fort Macon. Such beautiful views! My husband loves to fish in the surf at Fort Macon. Beaufort is a lovely little historic town to poke around in to see the sights and eat great seafood and ice cream. A chartered boat ride to Shackleford banks to see the wild ponies is always a highlight. The list goes on and on...
