--PEPPERS COTTAGE--is located at Mile post 17.5 on the Beach Road. It is part of Laughing Gull Cottages, an Ocean Front community.

Peppers is a cozy cottage for 2 people that is located on the ocean side. Only about a 150 feet to the beach.

This cottage may look rustic on the outside but it is just right for a romantic getaway!
Pepper's has a queen bed and one full bathroom. There is an outside shower also.
The kitchen is fully equipped so dinner is a snap! We have updated the kitchen and added a dishwasher. We even have an air fryer and a crock pot.

The living area includes comfortable furnishings, SMART TV with DVD player and free WI-Fi Internet access.

The deck is spacious. Also provided is a deck furniture, a charcoal grill, and clothes line.

Did you know? When Peppers was first built, Dr. Forbes rented it to a Catholic Cardinal.
He liked it so much that before he left, he blessed the cottage.
It has been our most popular couples cottage ever since!

ALL of our houses are Privately owned by our company.

Booked Peppers cottage for my partner and I’s fourth Valentine’s Day together. This little cottage bungalow was perfect for what we were hoping! It’s small, intimate, and incredibly charming. The walk to the beach, both late at night under the stars or during the day, was easy and convenient. The amenities were wonderful, with the kitchen and bathrooms fully stocked. The WiFi was very good, as we were both able to game on the same connection. The proximity to all the wonderful attractions in Nags Head made this the perfect gateway! Check in and out was easy, and hosts were highly responsive and reliable.

Clean and cozy. Perfect for me. They were very accommodating, as well. Less than two weeks before my stay, one of my dogs passed away. Within minutes of me asking, they refunded the pet deposit. Would definitely recommend.

Everything stood out! It was a perfect weekend get away for me. The cottage was exactly as I expected…small but very comfortable and had everything I needed, especially a full kitchen. Compliments to the host for having a well maintained property but, more important to me, being friendly and helpful throughout the whole rental process. Final note, the property is in a fantastic location on the ocean side and just a couple minute walk over the dune to the beach and minutes (without traffic) to all shopping and attractions. It was a WOW weekend for me.

Wonderful week in Nags Head. Peppers was just right for the 2 of us, and our dog loved it as well. Comfortable, clean and a very short walk to a great beach. Patio is lovely for drinks and stars. So glad we found it, and fully intend to return in the Spring for a couple of weeks.

Perfect Cozy Cottage!

We loved our weeklong stay at Pepper's Cottage! The newly remodeled cottage was cute and well-stocked. We appreciated the new kitchen appliances and the convenient beach access. We'd definitely stay here again!

A favorite place to stay

I have stayed at this cottage before as well as other Rentals on the Ocean rentals and every stay has been exceptional. The houses are older but so well taken care of and seem to be consistently updated on the inside and out as well as all of the amenities.

Perfect for senior Couple

Property is perfect for2 and a pet. Well equipped cottage for a getaway to the beach. Near handicap beach access and has private beach access. Minimal steps a plus for us. We would rent again.

Great Get Away

We were looking for a quick weekend get away. We found this location online and the booking was easy. We arrived and such a cute place to stay. Will definitely book with this company in the future.

We stayed 4 nights and were only given one towel and washcloth each for our entire stay. We had to bring extra. We had to put the sheets on ourselves, were only given one trash bag, had to sweep up before we left and given a list of what had to be done before we left or we would be charged either an extra day stay or 75 if the furniture was moved and not put back in its original spot. Our question was, what does the cleaning crew actually do? It wasn't very relaxing knowing we could be charged if we forgot to do something on the checkout list.

Quiet Cabin Perfect for Two

Second time we've stayed there and enjoyed doing do again. Clean and comfortable. The recent remodel was great as well! Will look to stay again next time!

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
