Another great trip!!

This was our families second time staying. The location is very peaceful and provides everything we need. There is an outdoor shower and foot wash area which is always helpful. There is a full kitchen with dishes available. The host left a nice care package with some goodies and extra supplies that all came in handy. Beach was just a few steps away and the house provides a comfortable area at the top of the dune with lounge seats and a hammock to watch your kids from and to view sunrises and sunsets!! The only problem we encountered was a slight pet urine smell in the living room area which was taken care of with some spray. Otherwise, the place was as perfect for our family this time as the first!! We look forward to more trips in the future! Thank you for a wonderful Nags Head getaway!!!

Great place with dog friendly environment

Great location right on the beach and dog friendly. Kitchen was stocked with cooking and eating utensils, a charcoal grill is also provided. Easy check in and check out process. Stores and things to do near by. Locals are friendly. Great beach get away. Looking forward to coming back again!

Excellent Location!

We enjoyed our stay with our 2 pups. The location and cost cannot be beat! The beach is literally steps away along with a nice seating area at the top of the dunes. The cottage itself was roomy and had everything you need from kitchen supplies to wifi. There are some things that could be better, like the furniture and beds weren’t the most comfortable, windows needed to be propped open, and the position of the toilet is pretty awkward with a wall right next to it and other one about a foot in front…but I do believe the price is fair when considering these things. There’s a public beach access right next door, and our reactive dog barked a lot at the activity over there. Something to consider if you have a “guard” dog. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would certainly consider staying here again.

Second time here

Great time as before. Location is wonderful. Property was not nearly as clean this time as last year. Amenities were great. Would love to stay again in the future.

Beach escape

Great location just steps from the ocean & pet friendly. Clean & close to restaurants, the pier & wright memorial. Only complaint we had was that after getting to the facility the instruction book tells you to keep the AC at 75degrees. We like it cooler than this. They should upgrade the AC so guests can adjust to their own liking. This should be disclosed prior to booking.

Great Place to enjoy OBX

The location is great, a few feet away from the beach and all kinds of restaurant and activities nearby. The guest is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Easy access to Beach

My sister and I had a great getaway at Whalen-N-Jennings. We really enjoyed the cottage and easy access to the beach. The wood lounge chairs at the top of the Dunes were a great place to relax and watch the surfers. We hope to stay there again.

Relaxing

The location of the cottage is ideal. The closeness to the beach is amazing. Although the weather was not good for most of our stay we still had a great time with our dog. The cottage is very well stocked and thankfully there was a great tv with many movie options as a nor’easter blew in and made it difficult to be outside during part of our stay. Cottage is a little out dated but you’re at the beach so was not a problem. The appliances looked pretty new and were nice. Property was clean and we were very comfortable there.

Comfy and Convenient

Comfy and cozy, steps from the beach and convenient to restaurants and sightseeing adventures. You can see dolphins while you are at the beach! Restaurants within walking distance, putt-putt golf and ice cream close by.

Great beach getaway

My husband, three sons and I stayed at the Whale-n-Jennings, and loved every minute of our first Outer Banks vacation. This little cottage was exactly what we expected. There was enough space for all five of us to sleep and enjoy meals together. The kitchen is very well stocked, though there are plenty of restaurants nearby if cooking isn't your thing. We brought enough towels and sheets/bedding for everyone. The clothesline outside was perfect. The beach access was amazing! We spent most of our first day at the beach, there's nothing like building sandcastles at 6 am😄 The outdoor shower came in handy, I was hosing of little sand monsters everyday. Thanks for a lovely stay at 2 Fish Cay - we hope to be back in the future.

5th year memorial weekend tradition

5th year returning to these little cottages by the sea and we had a great time. It was extra special this year with our 8 month old daughter. The weather was perfect and David the host is always so friendly and kind and made us feel at home. Went to a new restaurant to us, called the Blue Water Grill just over the bridge and it was exceptional! Until next year…✌🏼
