Beautiful private home on the Boardman River with large yard, deck and hot tub.

This beautifully updated home has an open floor plan and vaulted ceiling. The entire back of the house has sliders that open to a large deck with beautiful views and access to the Boardman River. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and attached bathroom with tub and shower. There is also sliding door from the bedroom leading to the deck and 8 person hot tub. 2nd bedroom has queen bed with slider to the deck. 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. 2nd bath has a shower. Large combination living room/dining room with gas fireplace. Complete kitchen and laundry. Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the pond on the front of the house, and large lawn with fire pit in the back leading to the deck/dock on the river.

Perfect for kids!

This was everything the listing said it was! We weren’t sure if we wanted to stay in Traverse City or a bit outside, and we are so glad we chose this route. It’s easy access to Traverse City but tucked away with lots of fun things to do right at the house. We loved being right on the river to fish and the house was stacked with all the kids toys, games and books. The kids kept busy while we relaxed on the beautiful back deck and enjoyed the peace and quiet! The hot tub was clean and the perfect size for our family. We’ve already recommended this place to several friends and would definitely be back if we come back to this area!

What a magical little place

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the River House. Everything was exactly as pictured and described. The setting right on the river is magical. It is private and secluded but still close enough to downtown to easily go in for shopping, dinner, etc. Grocery store, gas and amenities are 5 minutes away. This southern family loved our time in Traverse City and would highly recommend the river house for a great getaway. We hope to go back.

Perfect!

Our stay at the property was absolutely perfect. The house was clean and spacious enough for 6 adults and our 3 year old granddaughter. Beautiful well stocked kitchen and open living space. The beds are so comfortable. I didn't use the outside shower, but my husband, adult son and father in law did and raved about it. The deck is amazing. We spent lots of time out in the yard and sitting by the river. So peaceful. There is a little town close by with a family fare, walgreens and a jets pizza. The property is also close to Traverse City and all the other fun things to do in the area. Thank you to our hosts! We loved our stay.

Beautiful Boardman River House

We spent a few days here while our kids played in the Cherry Cup. House is exactly as pictured. The property is awesome - secluded and quiet. We fished, swam in the river, and took advantage of the hot tub on cool nights. Bring bug spray - during the warmer days the mosquitoes were out. Definitely recommend this place!

Boardman River Paradise

Wonderful, private, rural, fully stocked riverside home, yet close to many outdoor activities and still just 15 minutes from Traverse City restaurants and shopping. Great, high-speed internet.

Weekend Trip

We had a lovely time at the river house. The home was clean and well appointed. The beds were extremely comfortable! We enjoyed sitting outside in the rocking chairs and going in the hot tub. And it's just a short drive to downtown Traverse City.

Perfect weekend getaway

The property and the house are beautiful. You can sit on the back deck and listen to the tranquil sounds of nature, the birds, and the river, very relaxing. Beautiful outdoor deck area with plenty of seating. Interior is just as lovely and has everything you will need. Definitely recommend this house.

Peaceful Property

The River House is beautiful. Peaceful setting on the river away from town. Plenty of room to be outside. Minor issues were handled by Alex immediately. Alex was just a text away. I loved their story.

Amazing riverfront home!

From the second we walked it we were amazed! It was very clean, beautiful, peaceful & secluded yet only 15 minutes from most everything. The home felt like we were truely staying at someone’s personal home vs a rental. High end finishings had absolutely anything you needed including kayaks to use & take off right from the house. Very roomy and comfortable. I communicated with the owner a few times and she was quick to respond and very helpful. We had no issues at all. You can see that they’re reinvesting and updating. We travel quite a bit and by far this has been the best property that we’ve stayed at. It was nice to wake up and have a cup of coffee looking at the river and watching deer and rabbits play. I would highly recommend this home to anyone that wants to stay in the traverse city area.

The VRBO listing is completely accurate - a beautiful, clean home in a peaceful setting on a river. We loved staying here and please, please give the outdoor shower a try. We all loved it, even our most skeptical group member. We never used the interior showers! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Alex for sharing your lovely home!

They needed a pry bar to get me out !

The house is exactly as described. Kitchen and linens /towels very well stocked. Beds are very comfortable. The host is close to immediately responsive. The hot tub and two separate fire pits worked like a charm. The outdoor shower was so comfortable over two weeks, I never used the indoor shower. A close drive to Traverse city, hiking, kayaking, we didn’t have time to use our bikes, so I can’t comment on that. There were many items for children. This NOT a disclaimer , just a comment… the Boardman River is colder, with a faster current than we anticipated. It did not get in our way, but might be a consideration for a family with small children. If that is a minor concern for you, I would contact the host who is sensitive to young children and I’m confident she would answer you honestly.

The Great Outdoors!

Wonderful house with mid century modern flavor. All the interior amenities you could need. The house is well kept with comfortable beds. Exterior has a nice grill in good working order with plenty of propane tanks, a gas fire table plus a fire pit for burning logs. The property is situated right on the Boardman River. The river is shallow and moves at a swift rate so it is great for kayaking, tubing and fly fishing. Or general splashing around and swimming. There is a really nice and well maintained hot tub to relax in outside. A short 10 min drive or less to grocery stores and restaurants. 20 min to Downtown TC. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake (and many others), vineyards, fruit orchards, great beaches all very close by. Overall a great house in a great location.

My parents bought this house in 1999 when I was in middle school. I grew up spending my entire summers at this house making so many memories! This house has become the landscape for many family gatherings, baby and wedding showers, and even my sisters wedding. I can't even express how much this property means to us! When the opportunity came for my husband and I to purchase the property from my parents we had to take it, and now we're so happy this house is still in our family!

This house was in my family for over 20 years when my husband and I bought it. We have spent countless hours kayaking, tubing, roasting marshmallows and making great memories on this beautiful river.

We love the peace and quiet of this location. We are at the end of a two track road so there is no traffic to worry about. We enjoy sitting on our deck watching the ducks, herons, deer, rabbits and many other kinds of wildlife. The river is very easily accessed off of our lawn for kayaking, tubing, fishing or swimming.
