Delightful Historic Cottage Steps from Poipu Beach A/C. No hurricane damage!


Just steps from Poipu Beach Park, this is an original plantation-style cottage, lovingly renovated and beautifully appointed. It features a new fully-equipped kitchen, an outdoor shower, two bedrooms, screened lanai, and landscaped garden. Its high ceilings, giant airy windows, island furnishings and tropical ceiling fans in each room give you the feeling of 'paradise of old.'

The home is in a charming beachfront neighborhood on a quiet street. Stroll to Brennecke’s Beach, famous for its perfect boogie boarding waves, or Poipu Beach, which, with calmer water and beautiful snorkeling, is always rated one of the top ten Hawaii beaches. Everything Poipu has to offer is a beautiful walk away on either the Koloa Heritage Trial or the Poipu Kai Greenbelt. This is includes restaurants, shopping, adventure outfitters, tennis courts, pickle courts, playground, and, of course, those beautiful beaches. Two great golf courses are just a mile’s drive.

A PERFECT POIPU DAY

Awake to the sounds of palm fronds and waves, and enjoy coffee on the screened lanai.

Grab your snorkel and walk to Poipu Beach to enjoy the morning fish in the warm calm waters.

Play a round of golf or join in a tennis clinic at one of the beautiful facilities near the cottage. Then sit down for a patio lunch at a local cafe.

Walk to Nukomoi’s to rent stand-up paddleboards and try this new favorite sport. Or take boogie boards from the cottage to try the waves at Brennecke’s.

Crawl onto a chaise in the garden for a few pages of your book and a nap.

Prepare a tropical salad in the fully-equipped gourment kitchen, grill fish from the Koloa Fish Market under the pergola, and relax on the garden patio with wine from The Wine Shop in Koloa.

Sleep peacefully in your Tommy Bahama king bed with luxurious sheets, while dreaming of the next day's adventures.

Accessibility to the beach is incredible! It is very warm in the rooms without access to window AC, but I feel like the owners were transparent about that. Communication and the check in process were well organized!

Thanks so much for staying, Anna. To clarify for readers, our bedrooms have A/C for guests who enjoy that. But this single family home (not a condo) is filled with giant airy windows and plantation ceiling fans to take advantage of our ocean breezes.

The cottage is in a great location in Poipu and was super clean. It's perfect to relax in the lanai after a day of exploring the island. The outside shower was great to wash off after beach days.

This is a charming little cottage that was very thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The location is perfect- beaches and restaurants within walking distance. We also enjoyed access to The athletic club that came with.

This was our family's second time staying here -- we love the size of the home (just right for a family of 4!), the amazing proximity to swim-able beaches, and the breezy lanai! Pam responded quickly when I had a question. We would love to stay here again next time we visit Kauai!

Cutest cottage! Loved the kitchen, the screened Lanai and the bbq grill in the cozy/private back yard. We loved being within walking of the beach and restaurants.

It was great. House is 80 yards from the beach in a fantastic location. It’s a very cute large 2 bedroom cottage with a screened in porch and a full kitchen. It was furnished in eclectic Hawaiian decor with great books and everything was comfortable. We were there 10 days, and had breakfast there everyday but one, some lunches and barbecued 3 times. There is a great local fish market . There are many good local restaurants in walking distance or a short drive. Closest restaurant is Brennecke’s (ahi tuna sandwich 4 star) and our favorite was Living Foods. 3 young woman’s open a bakery from 7 to 10 in front of Brennecke’s and at first I balked at 10 a pastry until my wife and I shared it and it was incredible. Walking east towards the grand Hyatt is a good walk, 3 mile round trip, walking west towards spouting horn is 6 mile round trip. Poipu beach is great for kids and adults and as you walk further in front of Marriott is great snorkeling and then the beach in front of the Sheraton fun larger waves. Each resort has a bar and good food. The cottage comes with a membership to local pool, gym and exercise classes and more great food and drinks. Best drink all week was a Lemon Drop at Brennecke’s.

Location! Location! Location! Charming house in ideal location: private but yet close to beach and other sights. As a VRBO property owner myself, I was impressed with the completeness of the kitchen. The lanai is a heart stealer! Definitely stay here again!!

We enjoyed our stay it was very peaceful. House was fully stocked with anything you could think of items for the beach and cooking in there again. As someone that frequence the island, I highly recommend this property.

My husband and I had a very relaxing time at Poipu beach cottage. The amenities were great and closeness to the beach was fantastic! We had one problem where we ran out of propane so we couldn’t cook on the range, but Pam was great about solving the problem immediately after contacting Brent. He got us up and going before the gas company could get out to replenish the propane the next day. Thank you both!All in all, a fantastic stay at this property with an old Hawaiian feel to the place.

This has been my favorite VRBO stay in a long time. From the moment I walked in, it truly felt like home. The house is thoughtfully stocked with everything you need for a perfect beach day—extra towels for the red island dirt, a wagon, boogie boards, and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking.The beds were comfortable, and the entire place was very clean and well cared for. It's an easy walk to the beach, and I felt safe the entire time. The house itself is adorable-such a unique little gem.One of my favorite parts of each day was making coffee in the morning while listening to the CD of island music-it just added to the whole relaxing experience.Highly recommend this place. I'II definitely be coming back.

Relaxing getaway

Our stay was perfect. Walking distance to one of the best snorkeling and swimming beaches on all of Kaua’i. Open kitchen area and adorable sunroom for afternoon naps.

We visit my sister who lives on Kauai regularly, and when we found this beautiful Poipu plantation cottage, we couldn't resist.
