Having fun in the Sun Beach Villa

Our 3rd row Beach Villa is at the private end of The Dunes and a skip across to the pool. This 2nd floor 2 bedroom Villa has a full bathroom in the Master Bedroom and full bathroom in the hallway, right next to the 2nd bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a spacious king sized bed with a full closet and the 2nd bedroom has a single bed, bunk beds and another full closet.
Our flat screen TV has internet for cable tv, with access to Netflix, Amazon and several other popular streaming services. The kitchen is fully furnished, along with an HE washer/dryer. Villa comes with free WiFi.

Great location

The condo was just as described. There was plenty of space for our family of 5. There is a little bit of a walk to the beach, but the paved walking path made the walk very easy and convenient. If you have very small children or older adults who have trouble walking for long distances it may be an issue. I would definitely love to stay here again.

The Dunes at Hilton Head

We enjoyed our stay at the property. It was very close to the beach and walking/biking trails and offered all that we had hoped for. The property manager/owner was very helpful and was responsive to our questions and concerns. If our future vacation plans take us to Hilton Head, this will be the place we hope to call our home away from home.

Great Value

Really enjoyed staying here as it offered a great location close to Coligny Plaza/Beach and also Sea Pines nearby where our family wedding activities were located. Just across the street from the beach, so pricing was a really good value compared to some other locations with direct beach access.

property was very close to the beach. Nice walkway down to the beach with showers and access to a nice bar with music. Also only about a quarter mile to Cologny Circle which is a very nice public beach that has restrooms and showers, splash pad, and good shops and restaurants

Great location!!

We had everything we needed and more. My son also loved swimming in the pool. The beach was a short walk and restaurants/activities were nearby. This was a great Spring Break trip and the beach wasn’t crowded at all.

Great location!!

Access to the beach was very easy. We were able to use the handicap spot in the public beach parking at the beginning of the parking lot. The stairway was full of mosquitos, so it was hard to keep all of them out when we opened the door to go in or out...but we only got a couple bites 🙂

Great home, location, and owners!

My family recently stayed in Hilton Head and we loved this home! The location can’t be beat, we walked to the beach on the path daily and it was so great with our kids and a wagon. The home was so clean when we walked in. The bunks and extra bed in the second room was perfect for our kids. But the best part was the communication with the owners. We had to reach out a couple things…things we needed help with, nothing that was wrong with the place, and the owners not only helped but had such quick response time in was incredible. We will stay again when in Hilton Head!!

Beach Vacation 2023

This is our first family vacation to Hilton Head Island. It is a very nice area and a great beach for families! The beaches have lifeguards during the day. There are a lot of bicyclists both at the beach and along the pathways. You can rent bikes for the duration of your stay although we did not. The villa that were stayed in was very nice and had everything that we needed and more. We did not eat at the villa but it had a fully stocked kitchen if you wanted to. The location is just a short walk to Forest Beach. It’s also close to shopping areas such as Coligny Plaza, Sea Pines and Shelter Cove. Lena was wonderful and very communicative. The pool at The Dunes was very nice and always clear. We will definitely come back! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great Beach

A couple of blocks away is an uncrowded white sand beach that we relaxed on in the daytime and fished in the evening. We saw dolphins swim by every day and the cherry on top was when a sea turtle came on shore during a bright moon right where we were set up casting and laid eggs in a nest near our chairs then slipped back into the sea! Villa is a short drive to everything you want or need, biking distance to some fun stuff, walking distance to a beach bar and grill aptly named loggerhead landing where we literally watched one do that. Villa was super clean, a bit tight for 5 adults, luckily my son could only stay for a night, recommend this for no more than 4 or a family with 2-3 adults and 2-3 kids. The pool at the Dunes was super warm and refreshing. There is beach wagon to use and it was a lifesaver but make sure you bring your own gear, villa does not provide beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler or beach/pool towels. Overall loved our stay, Thanks for sharing it with us Lena!

Spring Break

My sister and I rented this condo with our teenage daughters for spring break. Lena is a wonderful host! Great communication. The pictures were true to what you see, except it was actually more spacious than we thought. Lena is very thoightful in making the stay feel like home. From the convenient kitchen stocked with all the pots/pans/utensils you need to cook for the week, to the books (located in side tables in master bedroom) and it was so nice to have laundry access right there in the condo. The walk to the beach was perfect, and there is Loggerhead grill on the way, which has drinks, food, fire pits, swings overlooking the beach, and restrooms/showers as well. The walk to and from Caligny shopping plaza is about 10-15 minutes depending on who is walking- (my sister and our girls are fit for the walk, and no littles to keep in toe.) But we saw many young families walking or riding bikes to Caligny as well. The pool was clean and had ample space with about 4 families there at the same time each day. There is even a church that meets on a connected property from the parking lot/bike path. It was Easter Sunday and we caught the tail end of the service. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rent from Lena again!

Great Location

This was our third trip to Hilton Head Island, but the first time that we had stayed in South Forest Beach. Previously, we stayed on the north side of the island, but we decided to try staying further to the south, and we chose this location. We were thrilled with our decision as it was great to be in an area that was so close to everything we needed. The condo itself is well apportioned with good amenities for a comfortable stay. The beds are all comfortable, and while nothing is over-the-top in the condo, it has just about everything you need. There were only three of us -- two adults and one child -- so we did not need a ton of room, but we were not on top of one another in this rental. In previous rentals, we have tried to have first-floor condos because of hauling gear to-from the beach. This rental is on the second floor, but that was not a problem because all of the gear -- bikes, two wagons for hauling gear and sand toys -- are stored on the lower level. It was nice to have the option to have four free bikes there, saving us money on renting. Instead, we rented an umbrella and two beach chairs that were not included in the rental, something that was considerably less expensive than renting bikes. The property is small, and it seems to have a mix of rentals and owners staying there. Again, there is nothing fancy to the Dunes Villas, but it is a good place for a vacation. The pool was small, but clean and well-maintained. There was plenty of shade and seating there. The walk to the beach took between 7-10 minutes, and we used the Alder Drive Public Access that is just south of the Marriott Ocean Grande. The path is paved (bike path), and there is an area to lock up bikes should you choose to ride to the beach. Past the pavement, there is a short boardwalk and then matting that makes the walk onto the sand very easy. This was much better -- it is all shaded for one thing -- than other places we've stayed on the island. In our opinion, the best part of staying here was the proximity to everything in Hilton Head Island. There are scores of restaurants and activities for all ages within a 5-10 minute drive, or a 5-15 minute walk or bike ride. You are just off the main track, so it is quiet and secluded (like just about everything at Hilton Head Island), but you will have no problem getting around. Customer service from Kelly was outstanding. She was very prompt and efficient in responding to any questions, a major plus!

Lovely island

Had an absolute blast on the island and the condo was great. For those of you who haven't been to Hilton Head access to the beach is a walk. Beaches on the Gulf seem to have more accessible beaches so plan for a short walk. Access is very close to this condo. Condo was spic and span clean and there is plenty of room. Rental is just as described and communication with owner was great. All in all we had a great trip and really enjoyed the island

My family first time to Hilton Head.

It’s was very nice. Love staying there. The kitchen was well stocked with stuff to use to cook if needed. Well cleaned and beautiful. We would stay there again in the future.

Not a party place.

Peaceful and quiet, off the beaten path but still close to the beach and Coligney. Walk to the beach that is not at the public beach access and that's a good thing. Less crowded and more user friendly for families with children. 3rd visit to The Dunes for me and my family.
