This is a great home for wedding parties as we are close to popular wedding venues.

Great Family home and location

Great experience. Home had a great family feel and was in a great location. Very much appreciated the great owner interaction. Sue was was very responsive and provided great communication.

Woody’s was Wonderful!

The house was really clean and comfortable and in an awesome location. It is a very easy walk to all downtown Manteo has to offer. There was plenty of space for everyone from my 12 year old to my dad to spread out and enjoy. We especially enjoyed the front porch with its fan and afternoon shade. Woody’s is pet friendly and set up really well for pets. We loved our time there. Sue is great if you have any questions.

Wonderful Home!

We enjoyed our stay at Woody’s Cottage! 20 minutes to Coquina Beach, a very short walk to downtown Manteo, and a short drive to Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head. The home has a lot of space for a large family and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a great meal. The fenced-in front and backyard were perfect for our dog.

Great family vacation in Manteo!

We had a great stay at this vacation home. It was walking distance to all the shops in town. Our family and kids enjoyed everything about it, including the hot tub. Definitely would stay here again!

Great location! Love the hot tub!

House was very clean and like being at home. Everything was fabulous and we loved the hot tub. When we come back to the area, we will stay here again!

Southern Hospitality at it's best!

We have rented this home before and I am always welcomed by such touches of this home! The porches the Coast Guard memorabilia, full stocked house is just a special place for anyone who rents this home. I have thoroughly enjoyed each time I've been here - the location can't be beat and the fenced in yard was just perfect! Thank you Sue and Carl Woody!

Wonderful home near shops and sound

Great house. Was not satisfied with cleanliness texted owner and she said she would send cleaning crew back over. Told her not to worry about it and we cleaned it ourselves. Pricey with the cleaning fees and all but whatever. We did check in early, 11am but would rather had the "short staffed cleaning crew" work and extra five hours and clean better for us until our actual check in time. After that initial pain the house was actually lovely and we did chat with owner and she was very nice as well. It was the only house on the block whose yard wasn't mowed as the grass was high. Pet friendly, maybe too much though. Place smelled like dog and had pet hair all over couch covers and rugs in bedroom. We limited our Yorkie to the hardwood kitchen area. I hate to leave negative remarks but if someone gets paid to clean it should get done. I believe my wife should have got the cleaning fee that i paid. All and all hope this helps rectify the situation for the owners sake, a shame to get bad reviews cause her workers are not doing a good job.

Perfect

Everything about this property is perfect. The location could not be better. Close to everything but quiet and peaceful. The rooms were quiet and very large. Bathrooms in each room with showers for all. Great front and back porches. Excellent stay with very welcome and responsive hosts.

Great house in a great spot

For our OBX vacation this year, we decided to go for a more walkable location and then drive to the beach each day. We couldn’t be happier at having done that and finding the Woody house. The house was clean when we arrived, and stocked with many of the things that you often have to bring from home or buy. The three full bathrooms and four king or queen beds were great, as I was traveling with my three daughters. The outdoor grill was high quality and ready to go. Rest assured, you’ll have most of what you need upon arriving. And we were, no exaggeration, a one-minute walk from downtown shops and restaurants. I heartily recommend.

Fantastic family home in Manteo

My family (7 of us, ages 11-80) stayed 4 nights. The location can't be beat, we walked every morning to a coffee shop one block over and walked to shopping, ice cream and Festival Park. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the owners were kind and responsive when we had a minor laundry emergency. The feel of the place is absolutely like you are staying in well loved, well kept family vacation home and it was perfect for us. Would totally stay here again.

Great location!

Just steps away from downtown Manteo this property was perfect! Close walk to some great restaurants (Ortega’z was our favorite), shopping and the Roanoke Island Festival Park. Highly recommend!

Unique, beautiful home walking distance from festival park

From the beginning to end, sue and woody were so accommodating! If you’re going to a wedding or event at festival park - it doesn’t get any easier than this. It was an easy walk to the venue! We loved the downtown area. Hot tub was great and kitchen was huge. Will be back again!

Magnifique

Amazing place in downtown Manteo. The location can’t be beat, with plenty of space for your group as well all the amenities you would need. Sue was always just a text/call away and would respond promptly. Strongly recommend staying here if you’re going to the other banks. 10/10

Manteo 💗

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Woody’s. The location is amazing, a walk away from the town of Manteo. We loved biking, and walking around town/pier. The beach was just a 5 minute drive away. We also enjoyed going to the Lost Colony Play and the Aquarium on the island. Thanks to the Woody Family for allowing us to stay in your home. We will come again!

The Woody House

It was excellent. All the instructions were useful and helpful except the stove top. We tried to get it to work but it never did. We were not familiar with this type of stove. We gave up and used the oven and microwave.

Excellent stay!

We can’t say enough about our stay. Four of us (plus one pup) were in the home for five days/four nights. The home itself is gorgeous and spacious. The outside deck was a mainstay. We grilled outback and enjoyed the cool weather (when it was cool). The hot tub was extremely pleasant as we spent our nights there. The rooms were well kept with ACs and tvs in each. Bathrooms (in all rooms) were also amazing. We were within walking distance to the festival right across the bridge and of downtown. Parking was given right on the side of the home. Everything was so clean and polished (and tech savvy) that this place was a major highlight to our trip in OBX. Washer and dryer and dish washer were godsends when you just want to hangout. Absolutely— highly recommend a stay here. Highly!

A happy time!

We loved our stay at Woody’s. It is a lovely home that accommodated us comfortably. We especially enjoyed the front porch, eating on the back deck, the downtown location and the fenced in yard for our doggies.

Great Location!

Well maintained (and loved) property within a stones throw of the waterfront, restaurants, shopping, and the festival park. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for entertaining; large kitchen and covered deck with grill/griddle to cook your daily catch!

Nice place really close to downtown Manteo.

Owners were super nice and accommodating. Great back deck with large grill and a black stone. Comfortable place.

Anfitrión: Carl and Sue Woody

Carl grew up in Independence Missouri while Sue Ann grew up in Manteo at 506 Croatan Ave, the home her grandfather built. Carl retired 32 years ago from the Army after 20 years service and retired from the Coast Guard after 31 years while Sue retired after 32 years civil service with the Coast Guard. We have been married 50+ wonderful years and have three children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Additionally our two Yorkies (Splinter and Daisy) keep us company and travel everywhere with us while our four yellow-crown amazon parrots 40+ years) travel with us also. Every 4th of July our family celebrates the 4th in Manteo and pose for the annual steep picture!
