Amazing Waterfront Home! Westside of San Juan Island!! Whale View Haven!

This remodeled home that sleeps 6, located on the Westside of San Juan Island, is the perfect getaway for groups or couples wanting to relax and enjoy what the island has to offer.

Enjoy watching wildlife off the water-view deck as the local birds enjoy the bird feeders, and maybe spot a harbor seal playing in the water below. The renovated gourmet kitchen boasts 2 ovens, stone counter tops, stainless steel appliances and fully stocked cookware. The kitchen is situated to enjoy the expansive views while preparing your meals. You may catch a glimpse of a passing Orca Whale while pouring your morning coffee!

The primary bedroom located on the main floor has a King size bed and a grand view of the water. The picture-window in the primary bedroom can be opened up to enjoy a cool breeze as you wake up. The main floor queen bedroom also has a view of the water. Between the two main-floor bedrooms in the hallway you will find the full bathroom.

The downstairs extra sleeping room feels like a separate wing of the home with a sitting area, an attached bathroom, and a Queen-Sized bed overlooking the water.

A perfect getaway for a few couples or small family with older children. Families with small children should use caution with this high bank waterfront.

This house is equipped with mini-split heat/cool systems in the main level TV/Dining area and in the downstairs area only.

There is NO Cell Coverage at this property. Long Distance is provided. The Wifi supplied at this property is adequate enough for making calls on your personal cell.

**For safety reasons the wood burning stove is not available for guest use.

Pets are not allowed at this property.

Wish We Could Stay Longer

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was exactly as the pictures show. The views were stunning and the house was clean. Missed the mailbox number the first time so got a tiny bit turned around and these roads are steep and narrow, lol. Loved the telescope thing and the children's books. We had so much to do around the island we didn't get to spend nearly enough time in the home but we enjoyed every bit we did.

Beautiful Stay on San Juan Island

Whale Watch is a well appointed, comfortable and beautiful house! It has everything you need for a Northwest Island getaway with family or friends. We highly recommend it!

Million Dollar Views!!

Girls trip to San Juan Island was perfect with the lovely whale viewing house on the west side of the island. The relaxing views of the water, whales, sunsets, birds and ships going by kept us entertained for hours. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, well laid out and had everything we needed for our four day stay. I would highly recommend this property!

Absolutely Fantastic!

Super clean and comfortable property, amazing view, right up the Strait from Lime Kiln State Park. We saw two pods of orcas, J and L, a Minke whale, sea otters, porpoises, and lots of jumping salmon. We truly hope we get the opportunity to visit again next summer.

A fantastic time!

We were able to find the property, check in and get settled with no problem! I had to call for some help on the minisplit unit in one bedroom and them PM's were so helpful and available. Our daughter is only 1 and it was great for little kids, and our older son had space to play inside and out. We loved the discount for kayaking too! It was a great home to spend a week with family. We had friends come for dinner one night and it was a perfect space to hang out with a group for a fun night. The house had everything we needed and it was nice to be out of town a bit, but still such a quick drive into downtown Friday Harbor. The view was STUNNING and we saw otters, seals, eagles, and foxes right from the porch! We will definitely be back!

Magical

Easy to find and access. View is spectacular. We saw porpoises and seals and whales. A mama deer and her baby were just hanging out in the yard. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the equipment you need and there’s even a spice drawer! Beds were comfy and open windows helped keep the place breezy and cool. Basement bathroom sink was clogged, but we just used the sinks upstairs so it wasn’t a big deal. Property manager addressed it promptly, however, and offered to send someone out. The island is incredible and we had an amazing time exploring. Will definitely be back.

Cozy Retreat with a View!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this place looking for a nice, relaxing getaway and it delivered. The house was immaculate (which is appreciated during this pandemic) and was very comfortable, from the captain’s chairs overlooking the strait to the gooshy couches curled up watching movies, we had a good time. Fantastic modern kitchen meets rustic cabin-like feel - we cooked many of our meals there and used the BBQ a few times too. Super easy. And the beds were all fine - we only used two as we're a family of three. Of course, the best part of this place is truly the view - particularly in the late afternoon and into the sunset hour. Magical. Just sit back and let the water melt your stresses away. I’d recommend this place and would like to return someday. One thing worth mentioning, it does get cold at night and the heating is limited to the living room and downstairs (or, at least it see,Ed that way). Otherwise, no real complaints.

Fantastic House would absolutely stay again! Fabulous location to everything on the island! Full kitchen was great, living space comfy, views amazing, beds cozy. Bathrooms clean-plenty of linens. Many serving dishes for in house meals. birds and deer a plenty.limited opening windows. limited clothing space in drawers in two bedrooms & no closet in 3rd bedroom and second bedroom closet filled with homeowner belongings. Master bedroom was fantastic..

Beautiful views but dark inside

The view was outstanding, the kitchen was modern and unusually well-appointed, and the grill is in great condition. Location on the west side is perfect (20 minutes to Friday Harbor, 15 minutes to Roche Harbor, 6 minutes to where we met our kayak guide from Crystal Seas Kayaking) and we saw orcas hunting a seal while we were having our morning coffee, which was amazing! Each room has a pretty water view. And it was very clean. However, the place is overall much darker than it appears in the photos, even on a bright sunny day, because of too many overgrown trees around it and because of the dark wood paneling. The second bathroom is rough. The mattresses are old, soft, and saggy. I think the couches and lounge chairs are newer and are good! Keep working on refreshing this place -- it has incredible potential!

Absolute perfection

This property is gorgeous inside and out. The floorplan allows lots of space for the family to spread out, while still feeling cozy. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the view making cooking meals a dream. The hosts thought of every detail to make our stay an absolute dream. From toiletries to more than ample towels, staying here truly felt like being home. Even the bird feeders are well appointed! Access to the water's edge would be a challenge for little ones, but for our grown family, it provided hours of tide pool exploring. Island cellular service is spotty, but the internet at the house allowed a fast connection. The property is a very short drive to Roche and Friday Harbors, but is tucked away and feels very private and secluded. We spent hours researching to find the perfect house for our daughter's graduation celebration vacation, and this was definitely the one.

Amazing view but fees are ridiculous

The view was gorgeous, we enjoyed the birds and deer even came into our backyard. The kitchen was very well equipped, even every spice and herb you could want. The furniture is dated by some people's standards, but it actually added to the mid century charm and was comfortable. But the rental fees, the non-refundable damage waiver fees are absurd. The non refundable damage waiver is not actually a waiver as you cannot waive it. Their reasoning is you don't have to worry if you break something. I'd rather have the money and a little worry. Charge a security deposit and refund it if the property is left in good shape. The website is not welcoming and the tone of the management is snappy. The list of rules, dos and don'ts, and" the owner is not responsible fors" is extensive and takes away from the anticipation of the booking. This review would have been much higher if the fees and punitive nature of the management company were more reasonable. Go to San Juan island but stay in a hotel.

Amazing views

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Breathtaking views! Our family slept comfortable. Unfortunately there were Cobb webs all over the downstair towels. Which concerned me how often it had been cleaned. Disappointing for how much we paid to not have it cleaned. I also reach out to the rental company and there was no apology which was interesting to me. The location is quiet and away from the crowds. You will have to drive for food and shopping but it was nice to sit in the living room and watch the orcas swim bye. It would have been helpful to have a local lists of places they would recommend.

Peace and beauty

We saw orcas and bald eagles from the dining room and sea lions in nearby Kiln Park. If you keep the bird feeder on the rear deck full with the supplied wild bird food, you’ll be rewarded with a steady stream of gorgeous finches and sparrows. The house itself was exceptionally clean with very comfortable beds. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Waterfront Retreat

Great location, nice, clean place. We had plenty of room for all six of us; however, the hot water is very limited. Showers were about five minutes. Other than the water issue, I would recommend this rental.
