This Malibu in Minnesota Beach House resides on the beautiful shores (230 ft) of Lake Pokegama in Grand Rapids. This crystal clear spring-fed lake offers great fishing, canoeing and sailing. From the dock, boat across to Pokegama Golf Course for eighteen holes and dining. The lake offers other eating establishments (Zorbaz and Pickled Loon) for your enjoyment.

Beachside is close to the house with a sandy gradual depth past the dock. Bonfire pit for those marshmallow delights and a wrap around deck for those Northern Minnesota starlit night skies! A lakeview four season porch with wide screen TV, Wi-Fi Internet, DVD's and games are available for your entertainment.

When booking do not include children under twelve, however please include a total guest count in the booking message so we know how many people are actually coming. Just to be clear all kids are welcome, but we do not charge for kids under 12. Do not add children under 12 to your booking.

*** A brand new hot tub is installed and ready for use***

Your boat can be moored at the dock or as you feel appropriate (rentals available in town, search Grand Rapids boat rentals) and any other watercraft is acceptable to bring. We offer two free Kayaks for use. We have 3 adult and 3 kids lifejackets available for use. We do not provide fishing equipment; there is an area in the mudroom to clean fish.

Dogs (fee per pet) are welcome.

Location was great right in the lake. Beautiful spot for hosting! The garage and apartment right next to the house was less than ideal but never saw the person so was not a problem for us. And the hot tub needs some leveling. Overall good experience and fun time

Had an excellent stay here with some friends for a milestone birthday!! The property delivered as listed and did not disappoint. There is plenty of space to accommodate a group across a variety of weather conditions. Access, location on the lake and proximity to a boat launch made for some enjoyable days out on the lake. Chris is always very responsive should you have any questions or need anything.

Long weekend on Pokegama

The property is large and nice. The beach is perfect and there is room to tie up a boat to the dock. The house was even bigger than expected and had everything we needed. There was a brief issue with the air conditioning but the owner response time was fantastic, especially given it happened over the weekend. Highly recommend.

The outdoor spaces and fantastic sandy beach really make this property special. We loved swimming and floating in the lake by the dock and the raft. The screened porch with a fire table is a lovely space to spend your evenings. The interior of the house could use some TLC. The bathrooms need updating and a lot of the living room furniture is broken down and uncomfortable. The kitchen space is very nice and had everything we needed to cook meals at home - and having a grill was also very nice. It’s a large space so you have plenty of room to spread out for large groups. The communication with the host was excellent.

Best spot on the lake

Our family loved the sandy beach and swim area. One of the best swim beaches in all of our MN cabin renting. The kids got great use out of the kayak and the hot tub was perfect for our cold week in August!

Repeat Visit

We enjoyed this location for a second visit. Lake was beautiful and the loon calls were lovely. We will enjoy continuing to see house improvements.

Fun on Pokegama!

Fun time was had by all family members! We had enough family spaces as well as private spaces for all. The proximity between the beach & the house was great for playing with the kids.

Great Family Getaway

We truly enjoyed our stay at this home. The beach was perfect for the four toddlers we had with us. They had plenty of room to play and the gradual depth of the water was perfect for the kids to swim and feel comfortable. The house itself provided plenty of room and it was really enjoyable to have a table that accommodated all of us to eat together. Really nice experience, we would stay here again.

The home, property and views are simply beautiful!! The property owners were helpful and attentive. We had a wonderful time making memories with our dogs at the Malibu House.

Great property with fantastic amenities

This is a wonderful, light filled house on the lake with amazing views. The kitchen is fully stocked with gear and huge for making meals. Lots of communal space. Great bathrooms and toilet. Big fan!

Beautiful Cabin

We had a wonderful time! The cabin is very well stocked (we travel often & this is probably the best stocked we have ever stayed in). The yard is wonderful. We really enjoyed the lake, beach, kayaks, hot tub, swim platform, screened porch, and deck. It's very private & the lake is very clear. The kids & dog had a great time swimming & we rented a pontoon and pulled it right up to the dock. There is also a lot to do in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend!

Unique Property

We enjoyed our stay here over Labor Day. It is a unique/quirky house. The children loved the water and kayaks. Water was clear and shallow. Fishing off the dock was also popular. Three small queen rooms on first floor - second floor loft was definitely open to the rest of the house. Two separate living spaces and a screened in deck.

Great location and beach

We had a wonderful time. There was a nice breeze on deck so could enjoy without mosquitoes. The kids loved the beach, dock and swimming to the raft. It is located on a great location of the lake. The loft was good for adult sleeping, not young children. It was only 10 minute drive to grocery stores and Target. Pokegama lake is beautiful and we also enjoyed going out to islands to swim.

Great Getaway

We didn't want to leave... everything was even better than described, and the responses to our queries were prompt and friendly. Kitchen was very well-stocked, and any time we wondered if they had a certain gadget, they did! Very clean, great location. Thank you. We'll be back!

Loved it!

Definitely recommend renting this property! Spacious, relaxing, & beautiful. Perfect amount of sandy beach leading out to clear, clean water. Tons of outdoor deck seating to enjoy the views. Inside views are just as spectacular as pretty much every angle of the house is a window or sliding glass door. Kitchen fully stocked with every pot, pan, utensil you can think of (which has been a problem with previous rentals we've booked). Quiet bay for relaxing but easy access to all parts of this amazing lake. Chris quickly responds to questions before and during stay as well as Kitty who will greet you upon arrival and immediately make you feel as though your in a home away from home. Can't say enough good things about this rental.

Back to Sherrys Arm!

We wanted to find a place to stay on Pokegama as we haven't been back since we sold our cabin on Sherrys Arm. The location of this place is great and for our family it couldn't have worked any better. We rented a boat from Grand Rapids Marine and launched it at the south end of Sherrys Arm. We were able to tie the boat to the dock at the cabin. The cabin had the best beach for the 4 and 1 year old and even the adults. Boated to the Pickled Loon one night and even to Pokegama Golf Course for a round. The house is an interesting design. I have never seen that many operable windows and screen doors. The layout worked well for our group and allowed for naps and downtime for some while others played games or listened to music. The kitchen had every utensil you needed. Great dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer. We would definitely go back.

Family Times are the Best!

We had an awesome time as a family together! The beach was fantastic, the hot tub got fixed so enjoyed that the next day after it warmed up. The site said the down stairs bathroom would be finished but it wasn’t so that was challenging to have everyone shower up stairs and get to church on time. They all took it in stride tho and we made it. I am sure it must be done by now! Right? The kayaks were a huge hit! The house is beautiful. Very easy to work with owners. We just all wanted to be together and it worked for us. Thanks.

Stunning, gorgeous and breathtaking house!!

Our two families came for a week at the end of June. The house was absolutely gorgeous and clean, even better than the pictures. I have never seen a kitchen so fully stocked with about everything you could possibly need. There was plenty of seating for the group. The wrap around deck was unbelievable and gave gorgeous views to the lake. The one entire side of the house facing the lake was all sliding glass doors so the view from inside was stunning! The beach is sandy and as far as you could go out into the water there were honestly NO WEEDS. The kids loved the two kayaks that were available for use and also the swim raft. House has towels, hand soaps, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels and even laundry soap! Kitty and Mike were extremely fast in responding to any questions or needs we may have had! In 10 years of renting a cabin or home for a week this was our favorite😃 Thank you for the great memories!!

Malibu house is unique, creative and beautiful....but most importantly it is a great place to stay

Combine an awesome house on a great lake and beautiful beach and the result is a great vacation. The lake. I had never been on Pokegama before. Truly a unique lake. The various “arms” of Pokegama give you the feel and experience of being on a chain of several different lakes. The water is clear (17 ft visibility) and the beach front was pure sand. The area. Grand Rapids is great. All the shopping available for all your needs (Target, WalMart, SuperOne Foods, Home Depot and many, many local stores and shops) all witching 15 minutes from the house. The house. Unique, creative, large, fun. The house was really cool. Certainly an architects fun project. Huge wrap around deck, hot tub was great on chilly late May nights, plenty of sleeping accommodations and 3 baths. Hosts. Would definitely rent from again. We had a great time and appreciated the opportunity to stray at the Malibu........thanks you!

My parents decided to move from the cities and make Grand Rapids their home. My father is an architect and designed and developed the site. The vista from any window depicts the beauty of the Northern Minnesota waters, trees and foliage.

Northern Minnesota lake homes and the surrounding areas have so much to to offer: Water sports in the summer, leaves in the fall, many biking trails, snowmobiling/skiing in the winter, and year round fishing. My mother's comment to the question of moving the family here has always been, "We wanted a slice of Heaven early!"
