Mary was super helpful and has a fantastic home, it's in such a nice quiet neighborhood, the house was perfect for our week in Acadia national Park

From the side porch you can sit and watch the boats and water in the bay. Or a super short walk down to the water. Great home base location for all the little flat trails that lead you through the forest to the ocean, so many options. It's also significantly less populated than bar harbor and really gets you away from the touristy section which was exactly what we wanted.If you bring your own food, you can cook anything, everything is available to cook with and a BBQ on the side. Outpost is nearby for the little things you might also need, but grab groceries on the way in or you'll be driving 20min back out to get most major food items. Overall, everything about that place made our honeymoon amazing. Can't recommend it enough!

Mary was a great host, and the place is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Extremely clean and very quiet. Great views and lots of wildlife as well! Close to beautiful walks, the Bass Harbor lighthouse, restaurants, boat tours, and groceries, but also scenic enough to keep the countryside feel.

September 2023 stay in Bass Harbor

We love this little cottage. Mary is a wonderful host and our week stay here was great. Highly recommend this cottage for a vacation on MDI (quiet side).

Lovely peaceful cottage

This was one of the best places we have every stayed! Mary is very responsive and lovely to chat with! The cottage is ina nice quiet neighborhood and close to some good restaurants and beautiful sunsets by the waterfront!

Very comfortable cabin in a nice quiet location away from crowds. Deers are literally in the backyard :) Mary is a nice friendly host, please ask Mary about fantastic blueberry pies one neighboor makes! Main Acadia park trails are within 30-40 min drive, no traffic and beautiful scenery.

Great location to explore Acadia from

Excellent property to base from to explore Acadia National park from. Very clean and comfortable with all the basics. Very quiet location. Less than a block to view the harbor and a short walk to the harbor itself. Beautiful sunset over the bay.

Great stay!

The house was just as described. Very clean, organized, and comfortable. Mary was very communicative and easy to work with. House was a great location, convenient to Acadia, towns, and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend staying here and would come back again.

Quiet refuge near Acadia National Park

Loved the location. A quiet street close enough to access all of Acadia Park - but away from the crowds. The house was comfortable, clean, and well provisioned. Communications with the host were first rate - friendly, informative, and responsive. Hope to come back.

Clean, quiet, and relaxing

This place was very clean, bright, roomy (for 3) and relaxing. The host responds quickly to messages and check in is simple. We appreciated the simplicity of the check out process as well. The location is on the "quiet side" of the island with quick access to the the Bass Harbor light, Wonderland, and Ship Harbor trails as well as Seawall.

Great stay on the Quietside of the Island

Clean, cozy, comfortable. Super easy check-in and out. Great communication. We locked ourselves out and Mary was there in less than five minutes. Location is perfect for us--less than five minutes from the Ship Harbor and Wonderland trails for watching the sunrise each morning. This was the second year in a row we have stayed here.
