Great place for a relaxed holiday

Very nice house for a relaxed holiday. The house is very clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. It is situated on the lower floor of the building and has multiple terraces with furniture at different levels for the best sunny or shady spot at each time of the day. The pool is great with sun, shade and a great view across the valley. It is a very quiet location, and still only 15 minutes from the beaches at Torrox Playa and Nerja. Lots to do in the area; beautiful villages to visit, restaurants, canoeing, hiking, and of course the beaches. Only 45 minutes from the Malaga airport. We really recommend this house.

Beautiful Location, stunning views

The communication and check in process was very smooth, the Villa is up in the mountains which means it has stunning views, space and privacy but this does mean drive up to it is off the beaten track. On our first day we were met by the agents who led the way, Id say this is very much needed. The roads to the villas in the mountain do not favour wrong turns. Once we'd done the journey a couple of times it was well worth it for the location. The Villa is clean, tidy, spacious, well maintained and well equipped. There are lots of beaches to choose from just 15 minutes away as well as beautiful towns, restaurants and Nerja. This made a perfect mix for a holiday of peaceful relaxation and access to lots of things to do.

Very nice stay with great mountain view

We had a very nice stay at this lovely house. Very private and very relaxing. Nice large pool. The owner were very helpfull and asked many times if everything was fine. If you are seeking a relaxing stay we can recoomed this villa. The house is an 10 minutter drive from Torrox Costa and 5 minuttes drive from Torrox. We recommend to have a car - but its possible to walk down to Torrox - 30-40 minuttes walk. Our son did walk to Torrox Costa and it took him 2 hours. The view in the evenings/nights are very beautifull and you only hear sounds from the insecs singing. Very nice place for us to stay.

What is not said is more important than what is

Extremely poor access No photograph of extremely difficult staircase leading to main areas. Photograph of the front part of the property which is completely not accessible to the renters Not informed of cameras located to focus on the pool area

We take all constructive feedback seriously. However, this feedback is entirely misleading and false. Firstly, let me be clear there are absolutely no security cameras directed at the pool! This suggestion is entirely false and we resent the suggestion that we might take the opportunity to spy on guests, it's frankly laughable. Regarding access: prior to making the booking this person contacted me asking about access. I fully explained that the accomodation is accessed at the rear via a well maintained set of stairs with a wall on both sides. This seemed to completely satisfy him. There is a photograph of the guests lower rear terrace and the wall of the stairs illustrating how safe it is can be seen on the right hand side of the photograph. I do not think it's necessary to include a photograph of a well maintained set of stairs from one terrace to another as most sensible people understand what a set of stairs look like!! If you've read this far and have any concerns please review the feedback from other guests which us far more factual and objective.

We really loved our stay at Casa Mara. Ian and Wendy were excellent at keeping in touch and throughout the whole process and answering any questions we had prior to our arrival and have also requested feedback directly so they can ensure consistency in the experiences of their guests - which we really value. The villa managers were also lovely and welcoming and escorted us personally to the villa to ensure everything was in place when we arrived. The villa itself was well equipped, the pool is an excellent size and depth and we spent most of our time there. The villa has stunning views of the surrounding villages/countryside, of sunrises and sunsets and lots of star gazing on clear nights! We would advise though, that the drive up is a little on the adventurous side, so would recommend an automatic car, a confident driver and a side order of the Spanish attitude of ‘tranquilo’!The villa is separate to the main areas used by the owners (who are not in residence when the villa is rented out) so there are steps to access the villa. To access the pool area from the lounge, there were steps – but there is a gate which can be closed if you have toddlers. We didn’t find this an issue at all, but someone with restricted mobility may want to consider this as a factor. The villa also has visiting cats so for any cat lovers (myself!) make sure you grab some dried cat food and you can enjoy feeding them and watching them sunbathe

Great Property and amazing service!!!

Loved our stay here. The house is so homely and so well-appointed. We have stayed at a few different places now, in Andalusia and this is far and away our absolute favourite. The swimming pool was particularly appreciated- such a good size and depth- and having the upper and lower patios. We lingered over the beautiful views every single day- especially in the evenings. We were also so pleased to have such nicely fitted, well-working bathrooms and such a well-equipped kitchen. It felt like everything had been considered so carefully. Beautiful garden too. The notes about beaches, restaurants, useful info to know, were also well appreciated.

Amazing pool area and even better views

Perfect villa for a quiet getaway for the family.Views are amazing from the huge pool terrace. Well equipped villa with very comfy beds and additional bedding if needed. Defo need an hire car which you can arrange locally in nearby Torrox. Just 45 mins from Malaga and only 10 min drive to torrox costa. Ian and Wendy are great hosts who are always on hand to answer any questions or advice you may need.
