Fantastic getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The School Room. Cosy cottage with plenty of space and all amenities we needed. Quiet and pristine. Lots of land to explore in the surrounds too. The host, Taylor, was friendly and answered all our questions.

Excellent stay in Kilmartin area. The School Room is done with many personal touches, lovely art and high end accommodations;). We enjoyed the apartment and environment very much. Lovely people!

Highly recommendable

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage. Very complete, all we needed was there. Well equiped kitchen, bathroom luxurious and spacious, woodburner fabulous, outside space more than enough, outside chairs and table comfy. The estate is great to have walks on to the nearby loch. Highly recommendable! Would stay here again without any doubt!

Loved it! This was an very comfortable quaint lovely stay, with high end furnishings and great connection with the hosts. I only have 1 complaint, there was no dryer or hair dryer. . . not a big deal as we had plenty of time and sunshine to dry out clothing outside. The area is beautiful and RICH in history. We will visit again and hopefully stay at this School Room. It was above our expectation in every mark! Thank you Willa & Angus for the fabulous stay:)

Blissful stay

Just the prefect calm,chilled space with everything you could possibly bed and more. Stunning accommodation photos don’t do it justice. Just had the perfect weekend away. Thank you.

The School House was a great place for us. We enjoyed how spacious and inviting the house was. The king sized bed is very comfortable and comforter was perfect for the cool nights. We enjoyed our morning coffees in the sunny garden. We found it had everything we needed including laundry soap for the washer. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful location, but close to many great places in Argyll. We highly recommend The School House.

Christmas break

Beautiful property, the pictures do not do justice to just how lovely and spacious this cottage is. My daughter and her partner had an amazing time making the most of the peaceful rural setting. The hosts were very helpful and had made it feel very festive with lovely decorations and Christmas crackers on the bed. A memorable stay.

Wonderful. Meaning full of wonder. Our stay was simply rejuvenating. The hosts were knowledgeable and very helpful. The location was peaceful and full of connections to nature. We slept well and had everything we needed. The sheep visited and the birds sang. We had delicious dinners at the Tayvallich Inn and at the Horseshoe Inn in Kilmartin. We saw sea lions, porpoises and white tailed eagles with Venture West boat charters. I sang Karaoke in Oban.We rented a row boat from our hosts and enjoyed a peaceful day on Loch Ederline. Truly a lovely experience.

A wonderful couples’ retreat at The School Room, Ederline

We had the most wonderful stay at The School Room in Ederline and couldn’t have asked for a better couples’ retreat. The accommodation was absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—we honestly could have stayed in it forever! Outside was just as lovely. The private setting made it feel peaceful and secluded, and we really enjoyed sitting outside watching the resident swallows and sparrows busy themselves throughout the day. It was such a relaxing place to unwind. There is so much to see and do in the local area, whether you’re looking for adventure or simply want to take things at a slower pace. Our highlight was an unforgettable day kayaking on Loch Ederline. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, enjoying glorious sunshine as we explored the beautiful shoreline, and seeing magnificent birds of prey soaring overhead made the experience even more special. The homemade flapjack waiting for us on arrival was a lovely, thoughtful touch and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, from the beautiful décor to the peaceful surroundings. We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The School Room to anyone looking for a romantic escape. We can’t wait to return!

I fell in love with the School Room when I saw the pictures online and the reality was even better. All the necessities are provided in the well-equipped kitchen and all the furniture is comfortable and well-cared for. The area is scenic and quiet with lots of interesting places to explore. The town of Lochgilphead is nearby for picking up groceries and enjoying shops and restaurants. I did have a small moment of confusion when I arrived because I didn’t realize the School Room is attached to the School House which is also a rental. I accidentally tried looking for the key storage on the School House side for a few minutes before realizing I had parked in the wrong driveway. This wasn’t a big deal, just something to be aware of. Overall, I adored my stay in the School Room!

Sehr schöne moderne Unterkunft. Sehr ruhig und gut gelegen.Wohnraum und Schlafraum gehen ineinander über, stört aber nicht.Küche etwas sparsam eingerichtet, aber alles notwendige Vorhanden.Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Beautiful, cosy, homely accomodation

This is an absolute gem in a beautiful part of the West Coast. The property is absolutely immaculate and has been set up so you can properly relax. It has a very well equipped kitchen, smart TV, bluetooth speaker, incredible bed and powerful walk in shower. Can't wait to go back!

Great stylishly renovated property

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage which was stylishly renovated, comfortable and welcoming. It has everything that you need with a great bedroom, well equipped kitchen and nicely proportioned living area. My only criticism is that the heating is on a timer. I usually get up very early (around six) and the heating does not come on till 7.30. A bit more flexibility in the control of the heating would be welcome for us early risers.
