The Retreat

It’s a great place. I have been here before but it’s been about 10 years ago. I love the house design and layout. It’s accommodating and feels home. I love being able to walk to the gardens and be outside. The pool is nice too.

Beautiful place!

I don’t think the pictures or description adequately describes how very cool this place is. You think you are in the middle of nowhere and then this lovely home is situated right by an amazing botanical park. We were here for a wedding and there was plenty of room for everyone and great large spaces for us all to gather together. It was also so interesting to read about the history of the house and the gardens. Would definitely recommend!

Home away from home

My family and I had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the pool the most. Wasn't too crazy about mosquitoes in the evening time but we would definitely do this again.

Outside Grounds Need Care

other than the thousands of rolly polly bugs and the scorpion that was killed in the bathroom, the house was GORGEOUS! It was obvious that the owners must leave for guests as there was too much personal hygiene products in the showers and other areas of the house. TX had alot of rain prior but the caretakers need to clean up the patio area prior to guest arrival. The seat cushions were covered in green moss and the pool was a bit dirty. The outside area was peaceful until we killed the tarantula by poolside. The area is definitely 'off the beaten path' and peaceful but the caretakers could make this experience far nicer to bring cushions in.

Very “Cool”

Our stay was an absolute dream! We celebrated my sisters 40th birthday with family girls getaway! We had blast! This house was a perfect fit and very roomy!! We had zero problems and plan on making this spot annual meet up! The house is gorgeous and had everything you could need! 10/10 recommended!

Beautiful solitude

We had an amazing experience at The Retreat! The house is very spacious and well stocked. We enjoyed long walks at the Clark gardens and just admiring the picturesque scenery. We will definitely come back another time!

Beautiful and peaceful property near the gardens.

Clark Gardens Retreat

This is a beautiful property in a quiet oasis. It was much bigger and even more comfortable than we expected from the photos. This was perfect for a mini-vacation with my family during the summer of COVID-19.

The Retreat

It was a beautiful secluded and spacious property. Our family enjoyed the weekend and it was a wonderful place to relax and grill outdoors after long days outdoors at the nearby SCCA racing venue. We definitely recommend the property and will stay there again in years to come!

We enjoyed ourselves at this house. We didn't realize it was two sides to the house. This is a beautiful house. The only thing was that we not able to get into the pool. It had so many acorns, leaves and seem a little dirty because of the things falling from the trees. Other then that great house. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again. Thanks

Peaceful, Beautiful, Amazing home and stunning gardens

We recently stayed at "The Retreat" and our visit was too short, we could have spent a week in this home. The home itself is simply amazing with the beautiful art, gorgeous bedrooms and a chef's kitchen. The outdoor space is equally as stunning as the interior with pool/hot tub and ample space to gather and enjoy a dinner on the deck. Most importantly you are steps away from Clark Gardens which is a must see. This estate garden is a hidden treasure and you can sense the energy and love poured into this space by the founders. The strolling trails, the peaceful chapel, the stunning arbors and scenic views throughout the garden make this a must see and a great way to unplug from the every day. The staff is amazing and welcoming! Highly recommend staying here and just a short drive into Weatherford and close to Fort Worth. A step away from the busy city yet close enough to it all. Simply Perfect!

With three bedrooms and two baths, study and TV room with hideaway beds, the Retreat can accommodate 1 to 10 guests. The Retreat's pool, trellised decks, open courtyard, and short walk to Rails to Trails and Clark Gardens, is an invitation to explore North Texas outdoors. Visitors have use of the fully equipped kitchen, swimming pool, hot tub and barbecue grill.

Rules:
Do not feed the horses located near the property or open any of the gates.
NO RV's are allowed on the property.
No fishing/swimming in any of the lakes, ponds or rivers.
