Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely disappointed to hear that your stay fell short of expectations and that it affected your family time. That is certainly not the experience we strive to provide. We do want to note that, as outlined in the house rules you acknowledged, we were not contacted during your stay regarding these concerns. In addition, guest satisfaction reminders are posted in the home as a reminder that we are always available to address any issues and ask that guests notify us promptly so concerns can be resolved right away. Had you given us the chance by notifying us at the time, we would have addressed these matters immediately. Our housekeeper would have returned promptly to resolve any cleanliness issues and to explain or remove the plug-in air fresheners if scent sensitivity was a concern. We were not previously aware of any unresolved maintenance issues at the property but we do realize they can come up. These matters were also not reported to us during your stay, and had they been, we would have sent maintenance right away to inspect and resolve them. It is disappointing that no concerns were raised during your stay and that we first learned of them after checkout through a negative review, which did not allow us the opportunity to address the issues or deliver the experience we strive to provide. We appreciate your offer to provide photos and will review them carefully. Although it is unfortunate we were not given the opportunity to correct these issues in real time, your feedback will still be used to help improve the experience for future guests. Again, we are sorry that your stay was impacted and thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

Fiona, We spent some time going over your review and comparing the communication we had with you during your stay. If there is anything our guest(s) report as a problem, we work with our guests to make arrangements that are most convenient for coordinating repairs. In your report to us about the outside light (the non-existent one), we had that repaired but the water from the roof during rains would eventually break the light again. After your report, and after having previously made repairs for the light, we requested the light be moved to another location in an effort to keep the problem from returning. In some cases, we are at the mercy of work schedules of others and you left before it was fixed. We also added a 2nd motion light to the front of the house. I noticed you also mentioned having problems with the TV's. After explaining to you that sometimes our guests change the inputs and then offering to send someone over when you were not able to choose the right input, you wrote us back and said you had the problem fixed. When we brought you extra batteries so you had them (just in case they were needed), you did not tell us you were still having any problems while we were there and could have done something to help you. Then there is the internet speed you complained about AFTER you left. This really had us wondering because we pay extra to have fiber to the house with 300mbps download / 300mbps upload speeds. We called the provider and after working together with their tech support, it was their suspicion that you may have had an end user device related issue when you were reporting “the wifi was horrible”. BUT then again, we did not have the opportunity to let them know you were having a problem because you did not bring it to our attention until you wrote your review of our property. We are sorry you did not have a good experience renting our BnB. We hope that you would bring problems when renting other locations immediately to the host’s attention. When you agreed to abide by our house rules when you booked our place, you agreed to bring ANY problems to our attention immediately. We request this of our guests because we want the opportunity to address any concerns and ensure your stay is enjoyable. Sincerely, Jack & Sonja
