Cette charmante maison de terrasse de trois étages est située dans la jolie ville de Bidford-on-Avon, à la lisière des Cotswolds. Riverside House se trouve à côté de la rivière Avon.

Construit à l'origine vers 1650 avec un ajout en 1947, cette belle propriété dispose d'un salon donnant sur la rivière. La cuisine, la salle à manger et les chambres ont également une vue sur la rivière.

À distance de marche du cœur de Bidford-on-Avon avec sa gamme de boutiques et de pubs. La ville possède une atmosphère communautaire conviviale et est imprégnée d'histoire. Stratford-upon-Avon de Shakespeare est à seulement 15 minutes en voiture.

Lovely house in a great place

Riverside House is lovely and is in a great location. Peaceful and a great view of the River Avon. I was fascinated by the flags that are all around Bidford on Avon. I counted at least 28 and there were more. They represent the shops, the local football team, the Duck Race and many other things. We did a Treasure Trail around Alcester and Bidford on Avon. Great fun. You get to find out the history of the places. We hired a boat for a day from the boatyard next door and floated down to Evesham and back. Very relaxing. The Co-op is very handy and we would recommend The Bridge Restaurant which is less than 10 mins walk from the house. We ate there 3 times. Warwick Castle was worth a visit too.

Really excellent place to stay

The house is perfect for a relaxing break by the River Avon. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need, and all the rooms were well appointed and comfortable. If I had one small piece of constructive feedback, it would be to update the living room TV to a smart TV for evenings in. Aside from that, everything was perfect.

We have just spent a wonderful week at Riverside The weather was lovely and the location of the house could not be more perfect We had meals at the local Bridge Restaurant and found them very good We also had a couple of meals at the Broomhall Restaurant and found again good value and quality A special mention to the boatman for his help and attention All in all, a Wonderful week

Characterful property, lovely riverside views but a few downsides.

Spacious and characterful house with a lovely riverside view. Well equipped and furnished. Couple of things to note: the property is in a boat yard, so the approach isn't grand, but once inside it's very nice and the garden is a cool spot in a heatwave. This stretch of river is popular as a cooling off spot for families so on weekends so can be noisy. Bidford-on-Avon is nothing special but there are plenty of nice places nearby. The over-bath shower on the first floor is barely useable - there's no thermostatic control so when someone uses a tap you get scalded, and the water pressure is so high it's like being blasted by water cannon! Also the TV signal can be terrible. We were looking forward to watching the World Cup and the Wimbledon finals but had to resort to using our laptop. This really should be rectified or flagged up. One final point: anyone with mobility issues will struggle to get the most out of this property.

Superb location we wanted to stay longer

Spent most of our stay in the garden enjoying the river view and watching the boats and generally soaking up the atmosphere Comfortable accommodation, easy parking and everything we needed provided. Warm welcome from the owner. Village has good pub food at the Bridge plus handy supermarket and petrol station. Ancient bridge and parkland an added bonus as are the cafe and village buildings / architecture. Close to Warwick and Stratford on Avon. Blue Boar Inn in nearby village very good for food.

Lovely home in peaceful location

If you are looking for a peaceful family holiday then Riverside House is an excellent choice. We were a family of 6 and the house, surrounded by a lovely spacious garden overlooking the river and open spaces provided us with ample space for all of us. Amenities are very close to the house and there is easy parking provided. We will certainly retain many lovely memories of our stay.

Wonderful

Highly recommend this beautifully furnished and clean, well maintained old property overlooking the River Avon and the tree-lined park opposite in an idyllic location. Despite the owner’s office being open all weekend and attached to the house and the boatyard also next to the main entrance, we had complete privacy. The garden was just lovely with plenty of shade from the willow and other trees and we were able to sit comfortably outside on chairs in the beautiful garden provided by the owner watching the boats and paddle boarders go by. In the heat we didn’t travel much despite there being so many places of interest nearby including Stratford upon Avon. The Co-op supermarket was very well stocked and was only a walk away which was brilliant for us to stock up on ice cream, cold drinks and salads as it was so hot! We had the most wonderful break and thank Dave, the owner for being so helpful and pleasant during our stay. The only problem we would mention is that we found the shower in the main bathroom is far too powerful and like a jet spray which is dangerous when the water is hot so definitely needs changing.

Lovely stay

This is a lovely property in an excellent location. We had an enjoyable stay. A very small point, there were no loo rolls or dishwasher tablets as mentioned in the details but this wasn't a big deal. We were happy to provide our own. This was a base for a family get together much appreciated by all. Thank you.

This house will be on our list for future visits

We were very much looking forward to our visit to the Cotswolds, the theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area. But arriving in Riverside House soon taught us that the best place to be was to stay at home, watch the River Avon roll by, cook together, go on walks together - relax as much as possible. This is the house we have been looking for all those years and we will be back. FOR SURE.

Riverside House review

There was nothing wrong with the house and there certainly wasn't anything wrong with the gorgeous garden and the view out over the river Avon and beyond. What we would have changed was the weather but that was my fault as I picked the wrong week! Given we were holed up indoors more than we would have liked I would have preferred a more up to date TV that would give up all the channels listed.

Lots of space and excellent scenery to look out on

Four of us stayed here with our dog. The space both inside and outside the property was excellent. Beds were comfy and starter toiletries were appreciated. Had to contact the proprietor to get someone to locate the barbeque as it wasn't present. When they got it out for us, it had been stored dirty so we were not able to use it. Items in the kitchen need to be re-supplied as there were only 4 wine glasses (enough for us but not if 6 people stayed here) and just 2 pint glasses. A bit disappointed that there was no dog bowl provided. The Meadow, the other side of the river, was an excellent location for morning and evening dog walks but it would be very busy in the summer holidays.

Amazing location, very friendly owner. Fantastic week had by all 3 generations!

Had a superb week staying at Riverside House. What a beautiful location on the River Avon. We were lucky enough to have a full week of sun, which enabled us to make full use of the generously portioned garden, when we weren't out and about exploring the surrounding areas. So pleasant to sit and watch the boats go by with wonderful views up the river towards the bridge and the church. Dave was so friendly and helpful. It was great to hire one of his narrow boats. He came with us to the 1st lock to guide us through the process which was very helpful (and probably essential for us novices) The property was very comfortable and the main bedroom on the 1st floor has great views over the garden and river. Worth noting that the top bedroom in the roof space has an unusual staircase arrangement leading from the bedroom to the bathroom. Not an issue for us in our late 40s but I wouldn't want my parents using it so they were in the large bedroom on the 1st floor. Thanks Dave for a wonderful stay. We would love to come back.

Riverside House is very comfortable and well appointed. The house and the setting in the Avon River are lovely. The house is convenient to pubs and a well-provisioned Co-op. People were all most friendly and convivial.

Excellent weekend break

We loved this house. The garden is a tranquil haven. Blessed with fabulous weather we spent most time watching the river and the life going by. The house was spotlessly clean and well equipped, with beautiful views from every window. We rented a narrow boat next door - so convenient and spent a glorious day on the river. Perfect weekend and highly recommended.

Lovely house, garden & location.

No complaints at all regarding Riverside House. Very comfortable and roomy cottage, spotlessly clean with all amenities. Beautiful location on the river, we were extremely lucky with the weather so we’re able to eat outside. Walks from the door & a fun few hours on one of David’s canal boats made it a memorable break. Excellent holiday

A lovely comfortable stay in Riverside House for a week. A beautiful house with many lovely items of furniture - clean, comfortable and with an excellent welcome pack. Super time

A very pleasant stay in a lovely house surrounded by a large garden, with lots of pretty flowers. Very clean, lovely furnishings and in an excellent position, right on the riverside. Plenty of good places to eat/drink a few minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend this lovely place and will be going back again

Great location

Relaxing break by the river watching all the activity. Exceeded our expectations. House not for the infirm - low ceilings in places and steep stairs. Ideally placed - coop just down the lane for supplies and ice creams and lots of places to visit nearby.
