Ancienne maison en pierre individuelle dans le pays de Shakespeare

Une variété d'espaces en font un excellent lieu pour les groupes, tout comme sa position centrale en Angleterre. Un sentier menant au charmant village de Bidford sur Avon passe devant le chalet (1 mile) avec ses magasins, pubs et un supermarché. Si l'on continue sur le pont, un mile supplémentaire vous amènera à un grand petit pub de village, le Cottage of Content à Barton. Gai et accueillant! Dans l'autre sens, un chemin s'élève au-dessus du village et peut être suivi jusqu'au charmant village de Cleeve Prior. Vous y trouverez une belle église du 15ème siècle et un pub tout aussi ancien, The Kings Arms. Avec ses poutres, ses feux de bois, sa vraie bière et sa bonne cuisine, tout le monde a l'idée d'un pub anglais. Il y a une route tranquille à travers les voies menant à la voie verte de Stratford qui donne accès à vélo à Stratford sur Avon. La rivière Avon elle-même n'est qu'à quelques centaines de mètres à pied et les enfants sont ravis d'aider les bateaux à naviguer dans l'écluse de Marlcliff. Certains clients font même de la pêche.

Quirky cottage in lovely location. Parking is a bit tight and first come first served. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room. Would be great in the summer, with nice garden and day room. Enjoyed using the log fire. Has everything you need, but a walk in shower would be advantageous.

Lovely cosy cottage with log fire. Super clear communication from the owner Geoff. Very comfortable beds. Loads of crockery, cutlery and numerous pans. Something for everything you may need, like a home from home. Would definitely recommend for family gatherings.

Cozy and homely

The cottage was a great base for local walks along the river Avon and nearby hamlets. Beautiful gardens and excellent facilities in the cottage to make us feel at home. The lovely fire in the evenings was an added bonus.

Just amazing

A beautiful picture postcard cottage. Comfortable bedrooms, big dining area for family meals and a cosy front room with an open fire. 20 minute walk to 2 local pubs and 25 minute walk to nearest town. Geoff the owner was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We will 100% visit again

A beautiful quaint cottage

Two adults and 4 children stayed in the cottage for 3 nights. The hamlet is quiet and pretty and the cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It is very homely and cost. We had fun lighting the fire and exploring the local area. Geoff is an excellent hodt.

What a lovely cottage in the heart of Shakespeare country. We had a great stay and enjoyed meeting Geoff when he stopped by to tend the garden. This is offor the beaten path but altogether charming and quaint. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Retired now after 39 years at the chalk face (teaching), The Hamlet was my family home for 25 years. I worked hard to create an attractive, fertile organic garden which I was loathe to give up when I relocated to a smaller property in Evesham. I just moved out and left everything as it was! Consequently the house is very 'homely' and the garden green and productive! I've tried to make the home comfortable but not too 'precious' so that families with children and/or dogs would not feel too up tight during their stay. In retirement I've continued doing the garden and have been able to travel extensively usually on my bike! I will probably pop in to say hello and you may see me hoeing my veg garden but the large lawned gardens surrounding the house are exclusively for the use of guests.

I grew up in Birmingham and one of our special childhood treats was to catch the 148 bus from Moseley to Bidford on Avon and walk across the fields through Marlcliff and onto the teashop (now closed!) at Cleeve Prior. When the Hamlet came on the market in 1981 it had just been delightfully renovated, had large gardens and there were footpaths radiating from the cottage in many directions.
Although in an essentially rural area it is only a short walk along the river or across the fields to Bidford on Avon which has plenty of 'facilities' There are some great bike rides, country and riverside walks from the cottage and all the charms of the Cotswold villages and countryside, and Stratford on Avon, within 10 miles.

Some visitors just stay around the property. They read, cook, eat, walk, cycle, fish in the river, use the local pubs and shops and really chill out.
Some have the above sorts of days but go into Stratford, Cheltenham, or Broadway to shop or 'do' the usual tourist things.There are a large number of National Trust Properties close by so members often get their money's worth and visit these.
Guests with children usually visit Warwick Castle and Cadburys' World in Birmingham.
Visitors from abroad often have frenetic days travelling to London, Bath, Oxford, Stone Henge etc. There is a direct train service to Oxford and London (Paddington) from Honeybourne only 4 miles away (free parking at station).
