If youâre looking for the feel of a country cottage in the heart of a thriving market town, then Apple Cottage is your idyllic home from home. As suggested by the name, Apple Cottage was once a grocerâs shop within a bustling street community, and today independent shops, bars and cafĂ©s are still just a few steps away on historic cobbled streets.
Families, couples and groups of friends will all feel welcomed and relaxed by the light, airy rooms and beautiful interiors in a cottage setting.
The Space:
Apple Cottage, once Cyrilâs Fruiterer and Grocerâ was lovingly rebuilt in the 1990s maintaining its original frontage. Situated at the heart of Frome, this cottage us the perfect size for small groups of travelling friends and families.
The ground floor comprises a light well equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer and dining for 6. Beyond a spacious living room with ample seating, TV with Freeview, Netflix and On-Demand. Double doors open out into a sunny courtyard garden with coal BBQ and outdoor dining space.
Upstairs you have two double bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath/shower. Though the master bedroom and up a further staircase you have a fun childrenâs bedroom (fine for adults) that has a pull-out single trundle mattress for a 6th guest and books/toys.
All bedrooms have comfortable beds, hotel-quality linens, and large bath sheets for all guests. We provide Faith in Nature toiletries for guests to use during their stay.

The whole house and garden are yours to use.
Although you canât park directly in front of the property there is a large free car park to the rear which always has spaces and can fit for any size of vehicle. The roads around the property are free road parking too. Plenty of options.

It is packed with historic buildings, independent shops, and creative individuals, making it an inspiring and unique destination. Frome's historic center is filled with architectural interest and a thriving contemporary arts scene.
As the original Somerset Market Town, Frome hosts regular markets on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, along with 'The Frome Independent Market' on the first Sunday of each month from March to December. This market attracts thousands of visitors and showcases local food, artists, designers, produce, and entertainment.
Frome also features specialty shops, arts venues, galleries, and a growing reputation as a hub for creative industries. The town hosts various events throughout the year, including the Frome Festival, the Frome Agricultural Cheese Show, the Carnival, and the Frome Christmas Extravaganza.

Taxi
It's best to pre book a taxi to and from the train station. Call Shawn at Smile Taxis to arrange.
Bus
Excellent bus links connect to neighboring towns such as Glastonbury and Wells. Frequent busses to Bath and Trowbridge. The bus stops are along Vallis Road and the two main bus stops in town outside Boots.
Other Things to Note:
Please note that there is a potential for some road noise during the daytime, it is much quieter at night.
The childrenâs room is accessed through the master bedroom.
We do have quiet hours between 8am and 10pm in respect of our neighbours.
Check in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10am.
We can provide a travel cot and high-chair on request.
