Cosy Comfort

Great place, very clean and superb location. Not easy to reach with luggage but manageable and no parking but we did know that before we booked. Only criticism (& it’s minor), I don’t really think that 1 pint of milk and a small packet of fudge constitutes a welcome pack. A loaf of bread and pack of butter would’ve been helpful.

Lovely cottage in beautiful Mousehole

A lovely cottage right on the sea wall with views of St Michael's Mount and the Lizard. Compact but adequate kitchen diner, and both bedrooms are lovely. One with en suite with shower and the other with an adjoining bathroom with sizeable bathtub. Issues? Vehicular access to the cottage is non existent really and you'll be paying a lot to park in a municipal car park. The cottage itself? Only some confusing and contradictory information about how the dispose of rubbish, but that is a minor complaint.

A perfect Christmas stay

We had such a lovely quiet Christmas by the sea in Mousehole at Mariners Cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and location was perfect.

Fabulous Position

We very much enjoyed our stay in Mariners Cottage which is in a fantastic position overlooking Mounts Bay and the little sea front terrace is lovely. The house is sweet but the ground floor feels a little tired and cluttered. The bedrooms are better but the two single duvets on a double bed were rather strange. Never encountered before. Bathrooms clean but some of grouting in shower is black. Car access is very difficult.

Loveliness in Mousehole

Mariners cottage is quite simply beautiful. With views from every window over the water the cottage is small but very definitely perfectly formed. The only slight inconvenience is the need to park quite a way from the cottage once you have unloaded but who cares when you are staying in as magical a place as Mousehole. The cottage is very well equipped and the wood burner is wonderful when the Cornish weather decides to declare itself! Mousehole itself has a variety of lovely places to eat and drink as does nearby Newlyn -a complete heaven for fish lovers. Cannot wait to come back

We appreciate parking in this location can be tricky like it is in lots off traditional coastal towns but like you said its definitely worth it for a magical place like Mousehole. We are happy to hear you felt that the cottage was fully equipped. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Review

Fantastic position and a very cozy feel to this charming holiday house. Disappointing, then, that the heating was off on arrival and it was freezing for the first 24hrs; not helped by a paucity of wood supply and a box of matches with - one - match… Excellent bath and shower room.

Pretty cottage

Mariner’s Cottage is situated in a very quiet position with uninterrupted sea views. The cottage is cosy and with the heaters on you don’t really need to light the wood burner. The bedrooms are comfortable and the view out to sea when sitting in bed was delightful. It is beautifully decorated and it feels very homely with the art work and decoration. We would definitely return and highly recommend.

Really enjoyed stay our stay and will definitely return. I know there’s not much you can do about it but would put some guidance re parking and maybe provide map with precise location of cottage prior to arrival as took a bit of working out when we arrived

A place to recharge

Mariners Cottage is a lovely little hideaway in a very peaceful location. The front garden which looks out over the ocean is a fantastic place to sit quietly and let your mind empty itself of all the baggage you brought with you on holiday. I could spend hours listening to and watching the waves crashing against the rocks below you. The house itself is cosy and very comfortable and the beds are fantastic. Mouse hole hasn’t changed much in 40 years and still retains its character and reclusiveness which makes it such a peaceful place to stay. The restaurants are great and the Delhi’s serve great food albeit at a price ! I certainly hope to come back again.

Sweet waterfront abode

Charming and well designed 2 BR spot right on the waters edge. Enjoy coffee in the morning sun on the front veranda and beers for happy hour. Spacious master bath. Tight staircase and top floor bedroom has little room on the sides of the bed. Decor was well done. Laundry in unit. No traffic as it’s a pedestrian path. It’s a sweet spot.

What a special, special cottage this is...

My adult daughter and I spent 5 days at the cottage and loved every minute of it. The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped, and the location is heavenly. You can look across at Mousehole, but you're at the end of a pathway, enjoying stunning sea views, sunrises and sunsets. The seals amble around the corner and the seagulls all settle on the island in front. The garden space is lovely and we both loved the high bar table with stools to get a breakfast bar vibe looking right our across the rocks and sea. It's really a very special cottage to stay in. We went off to explore the surrounding area, which is a beautiful part of Cornwall, but we were always happy to get back to the cottage and light the woodturner - putting our feet up, chilling, reading, having a glass of wine and watching the sun go down. Heaven, absolute heaven. With thanks, Bongo and Freddie.

It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the beautiful furnishings, stunning sea views, and the serene location. Watching the seals and seagulls must have been a delightful experience! We're glad you appreciated the garden space and the high bar table with stools for that perfect breakfast bar vibe. It sounds like you had a truly special time exploring Cornwall and relaxing back at the cottage with the woodturner, a glass of wine, and those breathtaking sunsets. We look forward to welcoming you back to our little piece of heaven soon! Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Blissfully perfect stay

We absolutely loved staying at Mariner's Cottage. We were only two people which worked perfectly for us. I'm sure more organised and 'compact' people could cope with being more than two, but it is certainly perfect for a couple. It is a very thoughtfully furnished house with everything you need for a short stay. The location is sublime, with its little garden overlooking the sea and with a barely-four-minute walk into the "centre" of picturesque Mousehole. We happened to have our car with us (which you park a couple of minutes away) but honestly there is so much to see and do in the local area and the local bus is so reliable you could almost not bother with a car at all. We ate incredibly well in both Mousehole and nearby Newlyn and tried almost every restaurant in the area, of which there is an extensive and excellent selection. Whilst Mousehole is undoubtedly a superbly pretty and friendly village (we loved the early week craft market and pretty much every shop and restaurant we visited!) we also fell in love with grittier Newlyn with its fresh fish shops and Coddiwomple which sells fabulous slipware and artwork. We also felt that the historic centre of Penzance was well worth a look (and enjoyed buying huge woolly pullies from Tam O'Shanter), had a great day in St Ives and discovered many fine coastal walks. The whole week couldn't have been better and we can't wait to go back.

Hi Claudia, Thank you so much for this wonderful and thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Mariner’s Cottage, and it’s lovely to know it suited the two of you so well. It’s a cosy little place by design, and we’re so glad it felt just right for a relaxing getaway. We’re thrilled that you found the cottage well equipped and comfortable, and that the garden and sea views added to the experience, it really is a special spot, especially with Mousehole just a few minutes’ walk away. It’s great to hear you made the most of exploring without relying too much on the car. We love hearing how much you enjoyed both the charm of Mousehole and the character of Newlyn, along with the craft market, shops, and even those woolly jumpers from Tam O’Shanter! It’s wonderful that you managed to fit in St Ives, Penzance, and some of the beautiful coastal walks as well. It really sounds like you experienced the best of what West Cornwall has to offer. Thank you again for staying and for sharing such a detailed and heartfelt review. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you back, you’re always very welcome at Mariner’s Cottage. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Mariners Cottage, Mousehole

The location is one of the property’s biggest attractions, with beautiful views and a lovely setting. One thing to be aware of is the access and parking situation. There is no dedicated parking close to the property, which made transferring our luggage challenging. Finding parking on the road locally is difficult, and the nearest car park (costing £10/day) has limited spaces, with some of the spaces being quite challenging to park in. This didn’t detract from the beautiful location and views, but it is something worth bearing in mind when planning your stay, particularly if you are travelling with a lot of luggage or have mobility issues.

We had such a lovely time at Mariners Cottage. It’s a beautiful home from home. Waking to the sound and views of the sea every morning was magical.
