Overall, we had a good stay and there is a lot to like about the villa, but there are a few things I would have wanted to know before booking.Unfortunately, the pool was not clean when we arrived. The owner did change pool cleaners and, after around three days, the new gentleman had it clean enough for us to properly enjoy, so credit to the owner for addressing this. However, the pool itself is clearly quite old and in need of refurbishment. A number of the tiles are coming away, leaving sharp areas around the pool. Between my nephew, niece and young son, they cut their feet four times during our stay, so this really does need addressing. The condition of the sun loungers is similar — they are quite old and one was broken. In many ways this sums up the villa: it is a lovely property with a lot going for it, but it is beginning to feel tired and would really benefit from some investment and modernisation. The grounds are very large, attractive and well maintained, and the villa has a lovely authentic Spanish feel. There were plenty of towels, the coffee machine was good, the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cutlery, and overall the villa has a great range of facilities. The gym is a nice addition, although a relatively small investment in some extra equipment — a selection of dumbbells and kettlebells, for example — would make it considerably more useful. The location was okay for us because we had a hire car, which I would personally recommend if staying here.
