Excellent stay

This has been a very enjoyable self catering experience. We spent eight nights at the very comfortable 8 Tarn End Cottage and it was truly a home away from home. We would highly recommend this location for a peaceful break overlooking the lake.

Great place to stay

I have stayed at this property a few times now and it never disappoints. It’s beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a holiday stay. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay

A stunning property in every way - location, comfort, cleanliness etc. On entering the door we were "blown away" by the incredible view which greets you over the Tarn - this view is the same from the bedroom. Ceiling to floor windows on both floors. The furnishings are of excellent quality throughout. Loved our daily visits from 3 local ducks. Fantastic walks from the doorstep. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Stunning Accomodation

What a beautiful property. Tastefully decorated and furnished to such a high standard. We were blown away with everything this place had to offer and with such an amazing outlook over the tarn. We will return and recommend this place as a destination for friends and family.

A perfect post Honeymoon stay

My wife and I had a lovely stay, we'd just got back from our honeymoon so it was lovely to have a few more nights away closer to home before heading back to normality. We'd walked past the cottages a lot being silly local sonic was lovely to stay there. The cottage gave us a brilliant sense of relax and unwind. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us and the view of the tarn was stunning. Everything was provided towels, utensils, even some coffee. The perfect stay.

Second visit

This was our second visit and it was everything we were expecting. Extremely well appointed accommodation. Very well equipped and in beautiful surroundings. For a relaxing break it is hard to beat. Plenty of walks if the weather is kind. Good food and drink at the pubs in Castle Carrock and Talkin, plus the golf club which welcomes visitors, or the cafe at the end of the tarn. Highly recommended

A lovely apartment with a gorgeous view

We arrived to a lovely apartment. We had excellent instructions from Cumbrian Cottages. Opened the door to a wonderful view of the tarn. Everything was in order and all prepared for us. This apartment was well equipped with all the things we would need for a lovely week. We sat on the terrace drinking our wine and watching the boats and wildlife on the tarn. Parking with a voucher was close by and very easy. Only problem we had was with the TV but after studying the owners manual this was soon sorted. The weather during our week was excellent, M & S and Tesco were nearby as were 2 pubs serving meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and were very sorry to leave on the Friday morning. The surrounding area has a lot to offer including Vindolanda, Roman army museum and aircraft museum at Carlisle airport.
