Brilliant hideaway

A bit off the beaten track but for me it's better for it. Only real grumble was the soft mattress - a personal preference obviously. Great place to switch off, unwind and get back to what matters.

Anniversary break

It was a very relaxing place to stay and we would definitely go back. A few maintenance and cleaning bits to sort/improve with the towel radiator not heating, some lights not working, crumbs on the sofa, black mould around the edge of the shower floor but nothing that couldn’t be quickly resolved to improve the standard of this accommodation.

An amazing stay at the most beautiful lodge!

Booked a 2 night stay in The Chard and it is the most beautiful lodge with a large garden area, hot tub and its own fire pit and Koi pond. Very peaceful setting with lots of wildlife and next to the river, we even had a visit from ducks in the pond! Contacted the owners to enquire about an extra night as was having such a wonderful time celebrating a 30th Birthday which was accepted. Excellent value for money and will 100% be returning. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Absolutely perfect bolt hole

The most relaxing rainy weekend we've ever had. Stayed for two nights of pure laziness and loved every minute. Beautiful cabin, comfy bed, amazing shower and the hot tub was perfection! It was a gorgeous quiet corner of wilderness just for us and the garden/little pond and surroundings were heavenly. We even managed to star gaze on the second night after a break in the clouds The only possible improvement I could suggest is the option of a pop up canopy or pull over awning for the hot tub for heavy rain, but certainly no complaints as we loved it anyway and will be going back!

Private get away

Compact lodge with great privacy, very friendly host who could not do enough. Loved the hot tub and the tranquillity of the surroundings.
