Excellent property , well designed and the standard of finish and how it is presented is as good as it gets. Very easy to communicate with the hosts. They are close by and very helpful and interesting to talk to. One of the best properties we have ever rented and we have rented a great many over the years. Cangas de Onis is close by and a pleasant town to spend some time in and stock up on provisions. There are many sights to see close by or you could just relax all week at the house. Well done indeed to Jen and Ben and thank you for setting the bar so high.

Even when you travel as much as we do, there is sometimes a really outstanding property where everything comes together in a way that truly surprises and delights. Pulieru is one of those. The location is sensational, the outlook is stunning, the facilities are excellent, and Ben could not have done more to be a hospitable and caring host. Go to beautiful Picos de Europa and indulge yourself.

We have enjoyed vacation homes all over the world since the early 70ies, but Pulieru is special: oustanding nature, impressive and quiet landscape. Nearby attractions are in easy reach, from impressive mountains hikes (Ruta del Cares, via the striking mountion passes to Cain) to wonderful beaches (Barru, Ribadesilla), and towns loaded with history (Oviedo). Ben and Jen: you are the perfect, unobtrusively helpful hosts - very friendly, easy to communicate. You created a wonderful home with a very special atmosphere: We hope you can preserve the special spirit of this place for the future.

Wonderful property in a stunning location.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house in a peaceful location up in the hills with great views of the Picos, and interesting walks straight from the door. There’s a large terrace to sit and enjoy the views with a drink after a long day visiting the delights of the Picos region. The owners were very helpful and friendly and Cangas is nearby for all your shopping needs. A great location for those who want to chill, and those who want to be more active.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been! The house is reconstructed with love and a lot knowledge. Every detail is well thought of, inside and outside. The surroundings are very beautiful and quiet, the view to the Picos de Europa impressive. Jen and Ben are very welcoming and made us feel at home. They also offered tips what to see, and when. What can we add to the earlier reviews. We loved the house (ans fully equipped), the views from the balcony and the living room. And Ben en Jen are wonderful people. They helped us to find the nicest place for horse riding and more. The cheese from the queseria on the hill is a hike worth. We will definitely come back (and we never said the before).

One of the best ever

Pulieru is probably one of the best self catering holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Ben & Jen’s attention to detail in both design and as hosts is second to none and really does take the stress out of a holiday. The pizza suspect available on arrival and the honesty cupboard for supplies is fantastic and so well thought out. If only VRBO did 6*....

this property would be one of them! We loved our stay in the contemporary architect-designed rural property with its stunning views of the Picos. "Ben y Jen" provided detailed local information including a selection of curated walks, some of which could be completed from the property. A welcome pack, house Netflix subscription and complimentary BBQ coals etc were just some of the little additional touches which made this property the best VRBO property we have stayed in. Outstanding !

It’s rare to arrive at your holiday destination and get the feeling that people were waiting for you to arrive, help you to settle in and make you feel at home. To facilitate the guests feeling great, the owners rebuilt a finca into a luxurious home with a unique view on the Picos de Europa. One can only get such views in the countryside and on higher ground, so the house is slightly remote but not isolated and still close to the nearby city of Cangas de Onis. They managed to combine high standerd comfort without overdoing it, which makes it wonderful. The owner’s advice on what one can do in Asturias was a source of inspiration and provided opportunities to enjoy both mountains countryside and the coastal area to the fullest. A great place to stay!

This is quite possibly the best VRBO I have ever stayed in. The property was clean, the kitchen was well stocked. I'm used to staying in VRBO rentals where the owner clearly "cheaped out" on renovations to maximize profit. That is not true of Pulieru; The renovations of the house are done quite well and don't look or feel cheap at all.The owners are a lovely British couple, which is partially why I (a native English speaker) chose this property. Communication with the owners was easy, clear, and quick. They were very responsive. The view of the Picos de Europa mountains from the property are breathtaking, and the property looks even better in person than in the pictures. The property is between cow pastures and we could hear cowbells from the cows grazing which was delightful. Don't worry though, there was very little, if any, cow smell in the air due to relatively small herd sizes. The access road is a narrow mountain road (very common in the area) so keep that in mind for the vehicle you choose to bring. The restaurants and cafe's in the nearby Cangas de Onis are excellent. Get the cachopo from La Joguera! The hikes in the area are some of the best I've ever done. Lagos de Covadonga is beautiful, but watch out for sheepdogs! They aren't too thrilled to see you.Overall, Pulieru is the best VRBO I've ever stayed in. You won't regret it.

Wonderful house in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The property is very beautiful and comfortable mixing contemporary design with original features in sympathy with the characteristics of traditional housing in rural Asturias. The views of the Picos de Europa from the main dining room and kitchen are exceptional and unlikely to be found in other houses. We have never found a holiday home to be so immaculately claen on arrival as this one! Ben and Jen are very kind, friendly and helpful. They provide a fantastic welcome pack of freshly baked bread, muffins and milk as well as a delicious bottle of wine. We loved the 'honesty' shop in the kitchen larder. It meant we had breakfast every day of our short stay without having to go to the shops. We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

Blissful…

We stayed at Pulieru for 2 weeks. The house is a stunning conversion in one of the loveliest spots we’ve ever stayed. Watching the moon rise over the Picos from the balcony was unforgettable. The interior of the house is immaculately done - even nicer in real life than the photos - with a quality equipped kitchen, really comfy beds and flawless wifi. The setting is very rural with only the sounds of cowbells and birdsong. Ben and Jen were lovely hosts, allowing us to share their vegetable patch and making spot on recommendations for trips including the best swimming spot we’ve ever been to. I’d strongly recommend Pulieru for anyone wanting a rural retreat with incredible views, gorgeous interior spaces and lovely hosts, in a region of Spain which is friendly, interesting and beautiful.

Incredible house in a stunning location

Everything about this house exceeded our expectations, from the stunning location with amazing views and tranquility to the ever available but unobtrusive hosting from Ben & Jen. Pulieru is a recent conversion that has been purposefully designed for comfort and to maximise the views. Lovely big comfortable beds, great showers and big, well equipped kitchen / diner. The house is surrounded by great views, especially the BBQ terrace. A great base for us to cycle to the sea or lovely mountain restaurants and bars. The market town of Cangas is only 5 miles away and can be reached via easy descent, uphill return on the bike. We only went out in our car once as a rest day. A walk to El Molin de Mingo restaurant is a must. If you love outdoors, walking, cycling, cows and nature I can’t recommend this place enough.

Paraiso

As someone wrote in the guestbook, from now on every vacation home will be rated in relation to this wonderful home. Is it as good as Pulieru? will be asked at every future place we visit and I can well imagine that very few will measure up. The pictures on line are as accurate as pictures can be, but they don’t nearly do the house or the jaw dropping scenery justice. It is a spectacular location with a house that has recently been renovated with everything you could possible need for a vacation. And then there are Jen and Ben, the hosts, who are two of the nicest people you will ever meet who have outfitted the house with every comfort and with a magic cupboard that they have filled with everything you could possibly need for meals and snacks should you be too tired to drive down the crazy, steep, windy, one lane road to get to the nearest store. (You do have to pay for these things, but seriously you would be happy to pay more just for the marvelous convenience of it. ) if I could award Pulieru 10 stars I would. Some day I will be back because I fear I have left my heart in the mountains of Asturias.
