Beautiful, lovely cottage right on the beach. And at the end of a row of houses, so very private. We loved staying here and would totally do so again! Loved being in the little village of Grikos - easy to walk to restaurants and easy walk to Petra Beach as well.

Paradise!

The best place to stay in Patmos. It has everything you need if you want to stay in a quiet and nice village. Alexandros is very serviceminded. Kaliva is paradise!

Perfect timeout

We had a wonderful week in alexandros apartment, which has the perfect location directly next to the sea. As Patmos is small, everything was easily reachable by scooter. A very nice cleaning lady came twice to clean the place and change the sheets and towels. Alexandros was very nice, picked us up and dropped us off at the port and was very reliable. Thank you for this special and peaceful stay!

A Magic place to stay

Absolutely loved our stay here. Very relaxing, great host. Swim and snorkle a few steps out your front door. Great restaurants a few minutes walk. Place gets cleaned every couple of days. Friendly locals.

Darling little cottage by the sea

Everything we hoped for in this sweet studio apartment in the quiet village of Grikos. Alexander was generous is providing the basics for cooking and seating spots to wind down by the sea. We jumped in the warm aegean sea every day, and were so refreshed by our time away.Loved it so much!

Exactly what we needed

We had a fantastic stay. The location was incredible, at the edge of the bay by peaceful waters. Alexandros was a very welcoming and helpful host — he collected us from the port and dropped us off, and was available if we ever needed to message him. Patmos is a beautiful island with a rich history and warm community — Kaliva cottage was a great base to go off and explore it from.

The Perfect Escape

The property was perfect for me. I needed the sea, the sun, quiet and privacy. The property provided all of these things 'in spades' but I also want to mention the property's wonderful cleaner who went out of her way to address my allergy concerns.

Kaliva cottage is located in a amazing location right beside the sea. Siting there either in the morning having breakfast or a beer in the evening was a pure delight. Alexandros was a great host meeting me off the ferry and dropping me off at the port at the end of my stay. The accommodation was in my opinion somewhat dated and in need of a refurbishment. The shower I found particularly very small and had a shower curtain that was pretty ineffective as it didn't reach the tray. (More water went on the floor than in the shower)! The bed was also very hard. I like a firm mattress, but this was really hard and pretty un-comfy. The stay was enjoyable, but it was a shame the accommodation internally wasn't as good as the external location.

Paradise

Just returned home from Kaliva Cottage, wow, what a beautiful place. If you want a peaceful, traditional place to stay, this is the one. Alexandros was a pleasant, helpful host. Ieft my mobile phone behind and he gladly went back for it after dropping us at the ferryport. We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Thankyou Alexandros.

A little bit of paradise!

Kaliva is a delightful little house. Alexandrios (owner) is very attentive without getting in the way, he responded to an email within the hour. It is very clean - cleaned every 3 days. Beach towels are provided so there’s no need to pack your own. We would recommend this house to anyone who wants to live simply, in paradise. We would recommend car rental to get around the island- we used Nikolakakis, who were very efficient.

A really paradise

Much better than we could have ever imagined , the house is a little paradise , small but with all you can need to spent a relaxing vacation .The sea is 2 meters from the door , with a private beach fully furnished with sun umbrella , sunbed and sun chairs . On the patio you can have your breakfast, lunch and dinner with the sea at your feet and a breathtaking view. Alexandros is the best host you can find , so nice and always available for any need . Moreover included in the rental a housekeeper will clean the house and change bed line and bath towel every 3 days , better than an in hotel. I strong reccomend the Kaliva house , the better place in Patmos and one of the best in Greece.+ Thanks a lot Alexandros and see you again.

Perfekt Location

The cottage Kaliva at Grikos Bay is a very sweet little cottage, with basic equipment, but everything you need for a relaxing vacation. It's location and the family who own the house, are definately the best you can hope for. It's very quiet and private, with your own little beach right in front of you. Alexandros and his parents are wonderful people, who are very helpful and even picked us up at the port, gave us a lift back in the end and filled the fridge wir homemade cake, olives and water. The Cottage is beeing cleaned every 3 days, including change of bedlinen and towels. Grikos Bay is a perfekt location to get to know this lovely little island. Everything is about a 10 min scooter drive away :-) We loved our stay at Patmos and would definately recommend staying at Alexandros accomodations (the family also owns a lovely Hotel and some bigger Villas near by). Thank you for a great experience!

Paradise!

I am reluctant to give my review as this may hinder getting my next booking! Our holiday started with a friendly greeting as soon as we got off the ferry, Alexandros is the perfect host carrying my very heavy suitcase from the car into the property, just the short walk from the car to property was breathtaking, I was already hypnotised by the views. The property itself is cosy and has everything you need, the kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials you will need to make your meals, if cookings not your thing, not a problem, there are restaurants a short walk, all superb. I must admit we struggled to tear ourselves away from the sun beds to explore the island but did hire a electric car for the duration to do that, we mainly used it to get shopping in Skala as there is not a shop in Griko, there is a regular bus service going all around the island if you need to budget so hiring transport is not essential. We spent most of our time looking at the views and watching the boats coming in and out of the bay, swimming in the warm sea, literally on your doorstep! It is stony getting in for a swim so bring some swim shoes! We could not have asked for a more perfect location for sun, sea and relaxation. If you are energetic enough there are water sports around the bay and if you bring your walking boots you could explore the island by foot. Lastly the cleaner that visited regularly was a gem, place was spotless. location and property was perfect!

Un rêve !

Petite maison construite contre le flanc de la colline,très propre et fonctionnelle. Quel bonheur, au réveil ,de regarder les goélands ,les cormorans,les aigrettes , voir sauter les poissons et regarder les allées et venues des bateaux .Merci infiniment à Alexandros pour sa gentillesse sa disponibilité et son accueil !po

Pour deux c'est l'idéal , c'est comme sur un bateau sans les inconvénients .

Nous avons adoré cet endroit Magique à Patmos. Merci au maître des lieux , Alexandro tellement sympathique. Cet endroit est remarquable pour tous les amoureux, c'est comme sur un bateau mais sans les inconvénients il vous faudra juste un scooter pour visiter l'île.

Such a nice time at Alexandro's place!

The place is exactly as expected, With everything you need inside and confortable. You are mostly outside enjoying sunbathing and swimming or just enjoying the view and calm. It is located in a small village/ Harbor and is very quiet and peaceful. Moreover, Alexandro and his Family are so welcoming and full of attentions! We can call it real vacations! We loved our stay and definitely recommend it!

A nice little house

Es waren wunderschöne Tage direkt am Meer. Das Häuschen ist zwar klein hat aber alles was man braucht. Der Service war super, alle 2—3 Tage frische Betten und Handtücher. Absolut sauber. Alexandros war ein super Gastgeber. Er hat uns von der Fähre abgeholt und wieder hingebracht. Es gab zur Begrüßung eine kleine Flasche ouzo und Getränke im Kühlschrank sowie Süßigkeiten die die Mama aus Kreta mitgebracht hatte. Alles in allem eine super Zeit . Danke Alexandros
