First of all Chrys, the owner is an amazing person! Not only she picked us up at the port, but also did help us with many kind details to make our stay more enjoyable. In addition, Chrys maintained communication with us previous to arrival, & during our stay to answer any questions. Chrys always responded to any of our messages in a timely manner, & she sure was helpful & kind!Chora mansion is a very special placeto stay, full of history, & beautifully styled. There is a bakery just a little walk away, & at night it was immensely quiet!The mansion is amazing, owner’s husband is an artist, & together they have created an amazing place that is like a living museum. There are artifacts from all over the world, the decor is beautiful!The accommodations were adequate, & met all of our needs!The terrace was a favorite place to hang out, & the house has another roof terrace with a panoramic view of everything! It was certainly quite a wonderful experience!Our bedroom was very beautiful & had all we needed. The mansion is in the center of everything in the mountain, convenient to all the important places. The mansion was clean & so authentic to its period yet with an artistic touch. The art work on the walls was extraordinary!Can’t say enough great things about this experience!I highly recommend this place, it was a wonderful visit, made great memories, & we are extremely grateful for Chrys being so personable, & kind!Thank you so much, Chrys & Johannes!Scott & Diana K

Nous avons été heureuses de la maison, trÚs bien située. C'est une belle maison ancienne, qui a du charme.Chris, qui nous a accueillies, a été trÚs amicale avec nous.Le seul point serait d'attirer l'attention aux futurs locataires sur le fait que les escaliers sont un peu difficiles pour les seniors comme nous ( 81a et 78a)

The house has been sensitively restored some years ago. It is beautiful and Chora in Patmos is beautiful. It has only one bathroom with an outdoor toilet and shower. They need to be updated. As do the mattresses. One double bed is actually a fold out on wheels with a very thin mattress. We did ask for and received a mattress pad for another. This should be used always as you could actually feel the springs. If you are a light sleeper the music in the square nearby goes until around 2am.

One of the most sublime weeks of our lives

The house is a jewel at the center of one of the most historic beautiful choras (citadels) in all of Greece. Winding cobbled streets and cerise bougainvillea, church bells and terraces that give on to the Aegean. It gave us an immense sense of tranquility to live there. In addition, the platia, or main square is spitting distance from the house, so it was possible to enjoy the social life of Patmos while also being able to retreat to the closed protections of Chrysanthi’s marvellous home. She was an extraordinarily generous hostess and, frankly, I can’t wait to be back.

The very best

Chris’s home in Chora is lovely
as lovely as she is 
 altho it’s a huff and a puff up the Mountainside, the original centuries old property features every modern convenience while retaining all its original charm 
 an early morning bakery just steps away and lovely dining opportunities immediately adjacent 
 the rooftop terrace affords splendid views and the church bells ringing in the morning are memories I won’t soon forget 
 I shall return!

A Gem of a Vacation Home in Patmos' Chora - Not to Be Missed!

Staying at this home was magical — one of those rare occasions where every expectation was not just met but exceeded. While it might not be the newest property on the block, the house’s charm and functionality are undeniable. It is well-maintained, spacious, and brimming with character. Numerous living spaces invite you to relax, whether you're sipping morning coffee in the sun-soaked deck off the second floor or enjoying an evening cocktail on the roof, which overlooks the entire town. Location-wise, it's a real winner. Situated in the heart of Chora, you're just a stone's throw away from the platyilla, or town square, and all the vibrant social life that comes with it. Yet, the house itself is a serene oasis, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle whenever you wish. What really sets this vacation rental apart is the incredible host, Chrysanthi. Her attentiveness and hospitality were unparalleled. From our initial booking on VRBO through to our departure, she was just a message away, ready to answer any questions we had. But she went above and beyond, assisting us with car rental arrangements and offering valuable local tips, enhancing our stay in Patmos exponentially. Her friendly demeanor made us feel not like guests, but like family friends visiting her on this beautiful island. In summary, if you're looking for a charming, convenient, and incredibly welcoming place to stay in Patmos, look no further. My girlfriend and I had an exceptional time.

Characterful, historic, perfect location, nicely organised, clean, spectacular views from roof top. We loved our stay at Chrysy’s house and she looked after us perfectly, driving all our luggage from the port up to the Chora and back again. We would definitely recommend.

Living in an historic setting

We really got a feel for living in history staying at this beautiful mansion in Chora for 3 weeks. Gorgeous, artistic, authentic - except for the conveniences of indoor plumbing, electricity, and appliances! Perfect location to really explore the ancient town of Chora. Walking through narrow streets, up and down steps with beautiful views around every corner. Chris, our host, was the epitome of the super host. Communicative, helpful, always available and such a lovely person. Tips: rent a car, bring you walking shoes, and get to know the local folks. Patmos is still an authentic Greek island.

Perfect spot, top of chora

Wonderfully unique and beautiful home high above Patmos. Can really soak up the vibe and culture of Chora. Walking distance to cave of the apocalypse, Monastery of St John and many nice restaurants and bars. Patio and roof balcony are very peaceful. Perfect place to really experience the island. Host was very accommodating in assisting with ferry pickup, car rental, offering cleaning and laundry services, and good beach suggestions. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful traditional home right at the center of Chora

We had a wonderful stay, the home is very traditional, which we loved. The outdoor shower was a family favorite. The hospitality and communication were great. As to be expected the nights are noisy until the DJ in the square stops the music but we loved that our teens could have fun so close to the home. We loved the rooftop deck and enjoyed it many evenings and for a gorgeous sunrise that we will never forget.

Una bella casa nella Chora di Patmos

la casa e’ molto affascinante perche’ antica ed arredata nello stile dell’epoca. Nel complesso un’ottima soluzione a due passi dalla piazzetta. Gentilissima Chris. Unica pecca l’esistenza di un solo bagno perche’ il secondo non puo’ definirsi tale (piccolissimo)

Lovely Chora house

Perfect location right in heart of Chora. Lots of space. Flower pots every where. The best outdoor shower! Chrysanthi is a great owner. Met us at boat, arranged car hire. We had the best time.
