This was an outstanding experience. We got lost on the way in — my fault, because I didn’t save the directions the host sent— and the host rescued us and led us to the farm. We were greeted with a lovely basket of baked goods and sausages from the farm, and a spotless residence. The accommodation was great: very well appointed, with everything we needed, a big bed, a HUGE tub, and a spacious room that served as both wardrobe and dresser. It looks like there are lovely walks in the area; we went to the national botanical gardens one day, and we were rained out the next, but we were perfectly happy to stay inside with a great fire. We would both highly recommend this delightful spot if you want a getaway! PS The information book in the cabin is absolutely comprehensive, and answers any and all questions.

I didnt want to leave!!! Fabulous place, fabulous host, greeting us with a platter of goodies.Great scenery, quiet, left alone to enjoy.Super comfy bed, spotlessly clean.Cannot recommend highly enough, a real little gem

A spacious farm annexe with a really comfortable bed. We were welcomed by Kaisa and Darren with local farm products. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay and also we had beautiful weather which was a bonus. There’s a field adjacent for dogs to exercise in too. We had a very relaxing weekend.

Wonderful cottage

We absolutely loved our weekend here! The cottage was sparkling clean and equipped with everything we needed (including tea, coffee, fire kindling, etc). We enjoyed the cozy living room and a beautiful fireplace. Our hosts were super friendly and helpful, they welcomed us with some wonderful food that served us as lunch during our hike. They made us feel at home here and we hope to come back very soon!

Thank you for the lovely conversation and how you left the annex, had we not greeted you in, we would have wondered if it had been used! Really hope we get the opportunity to see both again.

Beautiful and serene

Directions spot on. Greeted by hosts who were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Views were fabulous. The only problem for me was the lounge was cold until you lit the wood burner. But once lit, it soon warmed up.

Just perfect

A little gem, away from it all. The peace and quiet was deafening. Darren and Kasia were so friendly and made us so welcome. The log burner was superb with plenty of logs, we were quite happy just to sit there in the warm with our Labrador at our feet just looking at the views. We were allocated a field to exercise Bob, which he loved to chase his ball in. The bed was so comfy. The welcome pack was really special, especially the lamb sausages, we bought a pack from Darren and Kasia to bring home. We couldn't fault the place. The kitchen has everything you need in it just as you would at home so there is no need to go anywhere for meals. Just open a bottle of wine , light the log burner, and cook a gourmet meal and enjoy.

Great stay at Porthdy (gatehouse)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Porthdy. Everything was perfect, the owners were more than welcoming and showed us around before leaving us to enjoy our valentines getaway. The gatehouse was very cosy and had everything we needed and more. Little touches like hot chocolate and farm treats just made it that extra bit special. Facitilites were sparkly clean and the bed was super comfortable. Located in a nice peaceful area. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.

Daniel and Sophie were delightful guests to host. They were very friendly, polite and great communicators. They were very respectful of the space and left the annex super clean and tidy. We would love to welcome them back to stay with us and would not hesitate to recommend them to other owners. We sincerely hope to see them again.
