Charmante maison de vacances privée - 15 minutes de Sunday River

Cette charmante retraite privĂ©e est nichĂ©e parmi les Ă©rables, les bouleaux et les sapins en vue de Howard Pond. Le chalet dĂ©corĂ© avec goĂ»t de trois chambres et deux salles de bain peut accueillir six personnes avec deux lits queen et deux lits jumeaux. Le salon / salle Ă  manger / cuisine ouvert et accueillant dispose d'un plafond cathĂ©drale voĂ»tĂ© avec des fenĂȘtres de toit qui permettent Ă  la lumiĂšre de remplir la maison. La table Ă  manger en pin de 6 pi peut accueillir tout le monde.

La suite parentale avec la mezzanine attenante est située au deuxiÚme étage. Les boiseries, les armoires et les planchers de bois de pin ajoutent à la chaleur et à l'ambiance de cette retraite des bois du Maine. Il y aura le moindre soupir (ahh) d'approbation et d'excitation lorsque vous entrerez dans cet environnement courtois et accueillant. Ceci est un endroit qui peut restaurer votre ùme. AprÚs une journée bien remplie, vous pouvez vous asseoir prÚs du feu et regarder les feuilles ou les flocons de neige tomber. Détendez-vous et passez des heures dans les fauteuils à bascule sur le porche des agriculteurs de 8 'de large qui s'étend sur le devant de la maison.

Howard Pond est un Ă©tang vierge du Maine qui interdit les embarcations bruyantes et abrite une famille de huards. Il y a une zone de baignade publique et un quai prĂšs du barrage. RandonnĂ©es aventureuses - y compris le sentier des Appalaches et d'autres randonnĂ©es dans les montagnes blanches - et des promenades tranquilles sont juste devant votre porte. Vous pouvez mĂȘme voir un orignal!

Ski alpin et ski de fond, raquette, patin Ă  glace, motoneige sont tous Ă  10 ou 15 minutes de la maison.

Perfect Ski Stay!

We had an amazing stay at Anne's property. It was perfect for a ski trip to Sunday River. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could ever need and we made ourselves comfortable by the fire playing board games!

Perfect Ski Getaway

This was the perfect ski cabin for a weekend at Sunday River! It was close to the mountain as well as local bars/restaurants, and located in a beautiful part of town by a lake.

Awesome place

We spent 5 days while attending an event in the area and loved the house from the moment we walked in. Very well provisioned, clean and a great location for what we needed. The lake was a nice bonus. We will absolutely be staying again in the future.

Our stay at this as charming home was warm and welcoming! We wanted to give our kids a snowy experience, and a skiing experience. We were 20 minutes away from Sunday River and Black Mountain! We went skiing one day and tubing at Black Mountain the next. We were always exited to come back to our cozy home in the hill. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Very clean and perfect for the 4 of us. Board games and movies at night with good family time. I would highly recommend this home. Anne (the host) was a great communicator, and all was perfect. We would definitely come back. Happy New Year!

Wonderful time!

The House on the Hill was adorable! We had a lovely weekend away here. The check in process was easy and the property manager was wonderful. The house was perfect, updated and had a very cozy feeling. We skied and it was easy to get to the mountain. Would recommend this stay to others and would book again in the future.

One of our best stays in all of Maine

This property was undoubtably one of the most organized and well appointed places we have ever stayed at in over 10 years of using VRBO. Simply lovely and so user friendly. The location is incredible. A lovely pond surrounded by the foothills of the Mahoosic Range. A real gem. Anne was incredibly helpful and you could tell there were decades of love in memories win the property. Five stars.

Wonderful

This place is perfect - cozy and charming and very clean. We went for a 4 day ski trip at Sunday river. The beds are great. The layout is excellent with plenty of room for ski bags and gear. We had 6 people and we all fit comfortably. I wish we had more time to explore the area around the lake because we spent our time on the mountain. Very short ride to Sunday River. Thanks for a great stay.

Fantastic house!

We had such a great time staying at the “House on the hill”! We spent most of our time sitting on the porch, or in the water at the pond. The house has everything you could ever want or need. We had a bad storm one night and lost power, but the owner communicated immediately when it would be back on, and where the lanterns and batteries were, incase they were needed. We would absolutely stay there again.

Great house for the weekend of skiing

We rented the House on the Hill for two families with kids. The house is perfect, everything is so nice, clean and cozy. We had little problem with internet connection, but the owner resolved it very quickly. Thank you, Anne. Our kids loved it! and want to be back next year. :)

Such a beautiful pond to spend warm summer nights.

Everything went well. Early check in and late check out were much appreciated. Only complaint was that the house was not the cleanest. Also, the bugs were bad in the house. Not sure how to remedy that.

This house is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Very clean and organized. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and has all stainless appliances. The little wood stove was wonderful after a day of skiing. Only minutes to Sunday River. Wifi works great, but cell service is iffy at best. There is a phone there you can use, even a wifi printer. Linens and towels provided and nice quality, but we all agree the firm beds are very firm. I slept fineIt's a great rental! Thanks for sharing!

Cozy home right near a lake and the mountains

We spent 4 nights here as a family of four during April break--even though it was the off-season, we got to ski at Sunday river (spring skiing in slush) which is 15 minutes away and did a bunch of hiking in Grafton notch state park--also about a 15-20 minute ride. Anne's house was very comfortable with great beds/sofas/loft area for the kids to lounge. The kitchen was well-appointed--one of the best I've seen in a rental--and we were able to cook meals easily. Anne was extremely responsive. I mentioned that we didn't have fire wood when we arrived and within an hour, she had friends drop some off, which allowed us to warm up with the lovely wood stove. This house is walking distance to Howard Pond and would be a great place in the summer too. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Camp Auntie Getaway

We hadca wonderful stay in this beautiful home despite the rain. we swam in the pond and used the floats provided. What a treat to find fully inflated floats to use. We enjoyed playing games during the rainy afternoon. The kitchen had everything we needed and the whole house was so organized it was easy to find anything. The beds were comfortable and it was so cozy to wake up to the sound if the rain. We can't wait to visit again.

As a native Texan, my first visit to Maine was in the fall in the late 1980's. I was fortunate enough to stay with friends on Howard Pond and I fell in love with the place. For several years, I would return in the fall to this place that literally restored my soul... walking in the woods, listening to the loons and being surrounded by nature...very different from my 'city life' in Austin, Texas. One year when I got off the plane in Portland, I wondered to myself if I could possibly find a place of my own in this part of the world. It took a couple of years to find the land, hire the builder and take on such a project long distance. In 1995 construction was complete and I walked into the House on the Hill and fell in love all over again. Please be my guest..enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Sunday River, skating on the pond, walking in the woods or swimming and fishing in the summer or just relaxing by the fire or rocking away the hours on the porch.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

I love to walk in the woods in every season of the year. In the fall, I am convinced that there is no more spectacular fall folage anywhere in the world than in the Western Mountains of Maine on Howard Pond. It is great fun to have this house as a base and travel around the state and into New Hampshire and Vermont for day trips or take a couple of days and travel to the Maine coast. There are great skiing, hiking, canoeing, biking and antiquing adventures within minutes of the house. And, of course, swimming in the pond in the summer. When the pond freezes, it is great fun to skate on that open frozen expanse of water. And, there is nothing like snowshoeing in the woods or on the trails at Sunday River or the Bethel Inn and Country Club where you can also cross-country ski. My family loves the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at on the mountain. Bethel is truly a quaint New England village and has some lovely places to dine. The area is noted for the many hiking trails from level walking trails to the challenging terrain. The House on the Hill is a perfect spot to embark on an adventure or to retreat and curl up with a book.
