I wanted a mountain getaway just to relax and unwind, and that's exactly what I got. My only disappointment was that the days went by so quickly.The balcony views were the big draw for me and they did not disappoint! What the reviews state about the views being breathtaking are true! Situated at one of the highest points on the ridge, the beautiful sunrises alone made the stay worthwhile! This cozy condo made for a very pleasant stay for our party of three adults...so much so, that I extended a day to the trip. Had I more time to take off, I would have stayed even longer. The condo was clean and the kitchen pantry and bathrooms were stocked with the basics. The elevator and luggage cart were great to have, too, especially with a 3rd floor unit. Communication was excellent, and all my questions were answered quickly, before and during the stay, and adding the day was completed with ease. We also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with some of the other condo residents in our building and the building next door. Some were owners and some were renters like us. A friendly morning balcony wave led to several wonderful chats during our stay. All were so very warm and welcoming, definitely a bonus for our little getaway. Even the folks at the Mountain Inn, where we stopped for maps and local info, were friendly and chatting with us.Overall, a very good trip and I highly recommend! In fact, I am planning for a return stay next summer for the same unit.

This condo was amazing! The view was the best I’ve experienced in the VA mountains. The mattress in the master was very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped well. We enjoyed the cool weather at the top of the mountain since it was 10 - 15 degrees cooler down at the bottom. I would highly recommend this condo.

We stayed in a comfortable condo near the top of the mountain ridge with outstanding views! The location was close to the trails we planned to hike on…including a path that connected to the Appalachian Trail. We enjoyed the Chestnut Springs pool and the restaurants behind the lodge. The manager was helpful and friendly with giving us necessary information. A fantastic weekend vacation!

Surprising Wintergreen

Condo was clean, comfortable and the views were amazing, some of the best I’ve had in the Blue Ridge. The resort is very well maintained and the roads are paved and easy to navigate, making access to the property stress free. This did not diminish the wonderful views whatsoever. The resort has several restaurants, a number of hiking trails, overlooks and other amenities that can be used by guests. Near the resort are wineries, cider and beer breweries, distilleries and plenty of food options if you leave the resort. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had and registered us to use the resort pool (although we were unable to take advantage). The elevator and luggage carts were also greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this property and hope to be able to visit it again.

Great condo, needs a way to lock front keypad door.

Great location, clean, and very roomy. Security of the front door should be a concern to all!! My wife stayed at the condo while the rest went skiing to find out that someone entered the room unexpectedly. She said someone was banging on the door- she didn't answer due to not sure who it was and didn't have a uniform on. He entered the room while she was alone and said he was a maintenance man and they was a water leak that was running down to the condo underneath us. He checked the bathrooms and left. Shortly after 2 men barged in and was looking at everything again.This went on/off for hours. She was worried and couldn't reach me due to cell coverage at the slope. I realize maintenance has the code to all units however it looks like they would call the unit or contact number on reservation to warn about a maintenance issues. I didn't appreciate someone entering the room without any knowledge and the fact that YOU CANNOT LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE!!! We slept with a chair wedged in the door knob and my Smith & Wesson at my side. The host called me about the issue and made it RIGHT. **This review don't reflect the host only the condo maintenance operations.

Gorgeous views!

We loved our stay at this wonderful unit! Owners were very responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. The elevator made it so much easier when unloading and loading the car with our 3 and 5 year old boys. The views from this unit are gorgeous. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and watched several deer just below us. The unit was very comfortable for our family of 4 and boys slept soundly in twin beds. We had a wonderful weekend of skiing, snow tubing and just relaxing. We’d definitely stay here again!

We hope you will enjoy our home away from home as much as we do. We are a Coast Guard family that retired in Arlington, VA after a thirty-five-year career. We own a consulting company, principally serving clients in maritime telecommunications and electronic systems. Lucky for us our two daughters and most of our grandchildren are near.

In seeking a second home for work and play, we wanted a peaceful place in rural VA with great scenery and much to do for us and our families. With Wintergreen, we found it all. The Wintergreen web site and other parts of this will show lots of year-round activities, and it’s especially kid friendly. Our grandkids visit “Grammy’s Mountain” frequently and love every minute with activities on and off the mountain; the go-cart track in Waynesboro is a special favorite of kids for all ages.
