Perfect location to enjoy the beauty of Brixham

We have just returned from 5 night stay in the perfectly located Front Row Cottage. We found a clean and perfectly appointed modern cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable retreat, with views from every window you could only usually dream of!

Family holiday

Stayed in front row cottage the name was spot on as there’s nothing in front of the home but beautiful scenery, Had a weeks stay with my daughter and husband and grandson Who got very upset at having to come home, But I’ve promised him we will definitely be coming back to this lovely house,

Wonderful Holiday

We really enjoyed our stay at Front Row Cottage. The booking was straight forward, quick and easy. We had 6 nights there and had beautiful weather. The cottage was very comfortable with wonderful views of the harbour. We could easily walk into the town and get shopping. Most days we stopped for coffee and watched the fishing boats coming and going. We also did some really good walks out to Berry Head Fort, good coffee shop there too. A very good plus point there is parking with the cottage on the Quay. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it. Our love affair with Brixham continues!! Thank you mybrixhammolidays

Great location

Great location in Brixham, clean, comfortable, everything within walking distance in the town centre. Some great restaurants, bars and pubs. Amazing view of the harbour and the bay across to Torquay. We’ve stayed in Brixham before, but a bit further out, this was perfect

Wonderful Brixham

Where do I start , we’ve had some great holidays in brixham we love the place and always stay in holiday lets. This holiday was no different this fisherman’s cottage had stunning views of the inner harbour which we love. As for the accommodation we felt it needed a bit of TLC which we felt was needed to bring it up to date. As for cleanliness there is a need for improvement but I must say the shower was first class. ( but we still had a great time) this place may not be suitable for people with disabilities … honest review.

Beautiful cottage in an amazing location.

We enjoyed a wonderful 8 nights in Front Row Cottage. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. There were stunning views of the harbour from the lounge and both bedrooms and the close proximity to shops and restaurants was fantastic. The booking process was also easy and the office team were very helpful. We would 100% recommend.

Very enjoyable stay with a great location

We really enjoyed staying in Front Row Cottage. It's very homely and comfortable and has fantastic views of the harbour. The location is excellent. A bit more information about parking in advance of arrival would have been helpful, as we had to call the office to find out where to go.

Short stay in Brixham

Our short stay at Front Row Cottage was very nice and enjoyable. Perfectly situated for going into Brixham itself, we were situated opposite the harbour which gave us great views on every front windows day or night time. Easy to walk to the shops cafes and restaurants etc, and also for parking our car which was a short walk either up and down stairs or via the road. The Cottage was suitable for adults and not for very young children in my opinion as a family man, to many stairs, and its right on a main road with 4 quite big steps to the front door. Other than that a nice Cottage and good enough for our very short stay. Clean tidy nice views and easy access to all shops etc all in walking distance.

Great spot with easy access and terrific views

Beautiful little cottage in great location and spectacular views from all rooms. Depending on time of day or year road can be busy and noisy although the cottageitself is well sound insulated. Fantastic little veranda to sit on (but you will have to switch off to the traffic(we managed to with a wine in hand))

Lovely place to stay very comfortable a few essentials would have been nice some hand soap , bleach . Sink plunger as the plumbing is little slow new Hoover bag in Henrietta maybe being a little picky but washer dryer would be nice as jeans took two days to dry but would definitely stay again as beautiful part of the world and comfortably cottage in perfect location

Fantastic property with beautiful views, road noise and proximity may bother some.

The property is lovely, well equipped with beautiful views. It is tastefully finished. Just a short walk to the harbour and its private parking bay. As it is right on the main harbour road though, it can get quite noisy. Also, as a consideration for children the cars come past very fast, especially the locals. (

That view !!!

Superb cottage that met our needs very well as both double rooms were en suite and equally spacious with stunning views over the harbour and far down the coast to Torquay. The living area has the same wonderful views and two large sofas so everyone can sit in comfort. The kitchen was large and well equipped. We sat outside to eat fish and chips on a couple of sunny evenings. The car parking, shops and restaurants are a few minutes walk away, all in all a fabulous find in Brixham

Front row elevated view of the pretty harbour

The views from the living room and both bedrooms are spectacular. One bedroom with shower room is on the first floor, the other bedroom (same double size) and bathroom is on the second floor. The kitchen is well equipped with full-size fridge/freezer, and full size dishwasher. There is also a rear utility area with washing machine and downstairs toilet. The allocated parking space is on the promenade, accessed from the cottage via some steps, or you can walk further along the promenade and then follow the pavement up the hill to the cottage. Either way, it's only a few minutes walk, and the same into town. We will most likely be returning again next year.

Harbour view holiday in comfort

A great location where we parked the car and only went back to it at the end of our 3 night stay. Easy to walk to the shops, restaurants, the harbour area or further onto the scenic peninsula and back. The property was lovely and we felt at home. Very comfortable with log burner in the main sitting area and a fully kitted-out kitchen adjoining. Tea, coffee and sugar were there if needed. Great views from bedrooms and sitting room - harbour. We were a bit anxious and unsure where to find the parking but came across it: in the permit only area at the harbour, not the public parking. We would recommend clearer instructions are added in the details that are given out prior to the stay. Would definitely recommend a stay at Front Row Cottage.

What a view!

Front Row Cottage has an amazing view of the harbour and is a well appointed house. Steep steps outside and inside the house need to be emphasised for anyone with difficulty. It provides a very comfortable stay and the location, just a three minute stroll down into the town, makes it a wonderful holiday location. If I could suggest one improvement, a welcome guide to the house including WiFi connections and the rules on refuse and recycling, would have been helpful. Overall an amazing house with uninterrupted views of Brixham town and harbour.

Love this property for its location and cosy feel.

We have stayed at the Front Row Cottage a few times and love it for its location and cosy feel. We wanted to stay over new year to just sit with the fire on and watch the boats coming and going. When we arrived we found the property to be a little un clean and it felt like the property hadn’t been cleaned for a while, we spent the first couple of hours cleaning the fire out, coffee or tea stains all up the banisters and cleaning the kitchen area. This was a bit disappointing as not what we had expected to be needed on arrival. During our stay we also felt there was a bad smell in the middle floor bathroom that was quite unbearable, it was like a bad drain smell and i tried all sorts to get rid of the smell but no luck. Not a deal breaker but just a bit un pleasant. I don’t want to seem like we are manning just disappointed.

Luxury cottage with great views but a bit noisy

Lovely cottage with great views from all 3 floors. Perfect for us as we wanted sea views and two double rooms plus the bonus of our own bathrooms was even better. Parking, although tight as we have a saloon car, was also an added bonus. Beds very comfy, but 3 seater sofa not so much. Great kitchen but shame no welcome pack included in price. Needed extra loo roll in downstairs WC and a towel for drying hands. An extra tea towel if staying for week although there is a dishwasher. Unfortunately I left my purse in the wardrobe on top floor but for some reason nobody has found it which is very strange and quite frankly very dishonest. The previous guests also left belongings of which we got a call about from My Brixham holiday company to look for but we couldn't find anything?? So where do these things go?? we contacted My Brixham holiday via email to ask for a later check out and or to stay another couple of days in cottage as nobody coming in till the Monday but nobody responded at all also when we let them know we couldn't find the item from previous customers they didn't even reply with a thank you for looking. Please be careful not to leave anything behind as you won't get it back, it seems to somehow disappear! Cottage lovely but also be aware it's on the roadside which is noisy as is the very busy working harbour during the night and revellers coming home from their evening via the steps up from town. The price you pay for being on the front row with superb views..this is the compromise and I'd take it anytime

Fabulous location but the cottage needs a deep clean and some TLC

PROs The location of the cottage was fabulous, the private parking space on the harbour was a god send, the cottage was cosy, the bed was comfy and the bed linen and pillows were good. The towels were thick and clean. CONs The cottage was overall very "grubby". There were quite a lot of cobwebs and it felt like no one had been in for quite some time other than to make the beds and leave clean towels and the bathroom had a very musty smell. We had to weed and wipe down the outside area otherwise we would not have been able to sit out. It is a very small area but again was in dire need of some TLC. The rear outside areas were awful, whilst these are not accessible from the cottage they are part of it and can be seen from both the kitchen and the bathroom. Dirty rusty furniture, debris and weeds were not very nice to look at. Whilst I do not expect a weeks supply of toilet roll I would expect one per bathroom. Not a problem as we had ordered some in our Tesco delivery. The blinds were cheap ikea blinds and very stiff and difficult to open. Overall the cottage was lovely and the views and location fantastic but definitely let down by the overall location.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location with stunning harbour views

Brixham is the most beautiful harbour both day and night. The views from the cottage windows are worth the cost of the cottage hire! Well equipped kitchen, but we took our own oven gloves as had been before. Wonderfully powerful shower, there is a deep bath on the top floor but we did not use this. Plenty of wardrobe space and cupboards. TVs in both bedrooms, but did not use these as the views from the window were awesome! Stairs up to the top bedroom are very steep and the treads are quite narrow. There are a couple of steps up from the kitchen to the downstairs toilet and high steps at the front access. A massive plus for this property is the dedicated parking space along the harbour below the cottage. However there are quite a few steps up to the cottage from the harbour. You get used to them after a few days. There are local shops within minutes of walking from the cottage. Bay Coffee Company on the opposite side of the harbour to the cottage did the best lattes and staff so friendly! Lots of fish and chip shops / restaurants available, local pubs including the very traditional Blue Anchor….tried the local Adela BM79 gin, fantastic! We visited in the winter and the cottage was very cosy and warm and has a wood burner in the front room. Only slight criticism was the mattress on the first floor bed was a little uncomfortable as the springs kept pinging when turning in bed, but I’m sure this is something the owners can rectify. All in all we loved staying at Front Row Cottage and will be returning for our 3rd year in 2024. Highly recommend! Brixham is a place you won’t want to leave and will draw you back again and again.
