Beautiful villa with spectacular views. The listed photos do not do it justice! The villa overlooks all the palaces, which are lit up at night. The villa is the perfect base for visiting all the palaces, beaches and a Lisbon day trip if you wanted. Hire car is essential however uber is very easy and affordable if you want to eat out and drink alcohol. We are a family of four with children of 10 and 7. Maria is a wonderful host and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.

Fabulous place for a family holiday!

Casa Heleno is a lovely house with beautiful gardens and a fantastic view across the valley towards the palaces at Sintra. We spent much time sitting on the terrace admiring the view and using the pool. Maria was a very attentive host who clearly cares about the house and her guests. There are two restaurants within walking distance. We would gladly come again and would highly recommend this house!

Wedding in Sintra

This Villa was a wonderful place for a group of us to stay when traveling for a family wedding in Sintra. Maria and Petra were very responsive to any questions we had and to any needs. We had some travel delays so the check-in process was one I was concerned about however Maria was extremely flexible and met other members of our party who ended up arriving before we did.The weather was a little too cool for us to enjoy the beautiful pool. However the property is pristine and beautiful. The view from the villa to the hillside of Sintra is breathtaking. If we are ever lucky enough to return, we would be looking to see if Maria and Petra’s place is available.

Our family of four (with two children under 10) recently returned from a fantastic 10-night stay at a beautiful villa in Sintra, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and safe, which is so important when traveling with young children.The villa itself was a dream come true. The pool was simply fantastic, providing endless hours of fun for the kids and a wonderful place for us to relax and cool off. The garden was a true highlight—lush, beautifully maintained, and a peaceful haven where we could enjoy our morning coffee or an evening drink. Inside, the amenities were excellent; everything we needed was provided, making our stay comfortable and stress-free.One of the best things about the location was how easy it was to explore. We were able to use the Bolt app to get taxis to the local sights in Sintra, making it incredibly convenient to visit the palaces and historic town without any hassle. We also managed a wonderful day trip to Lisbon, which was a fantastic adventure for the whole family.We would highly recommend this villa to any family looking for a relaxing, safe, and truly magical holiday. We've made some wonderful memories and hope to return one day!

wonderful property

This property had spectacular views of several palaces, they looked awesome lit up at night. The house was very comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. The pool was fantastic after a day of sightseeing. The proximity to Sintra was great. The castles and palaces we visited were all within a half hour drive. We visited several beaches that were within 15-20 minute drive. Restaurants were located close by also. The grounds were beautiful, and interesting to explore. The house was decorated lovely, I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it highly. The host was extremely easy to contact and was very responsive, overall a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect location

The villa is perfectly located with beautiful views across the valley to the palaces at Sintra (although we did have very misty mornings and evenings during our stay) Quiet and away from the crowds but easy to reach Lisbon and the coast and just book an Uber to get straight to the Pena Palace in the mornings. Easy walk down to the two traditional village restaurants The decor and furnishings in the villa are very traditional, well presented and spotlessly clean. Some areas may need a little updating but there is everything there that you would need and we felt very comfortable The external area is very attractive and well kept with a lovely pool , unfortunately we couldn't make the most of this as the weather although very pleasant wasn't hot enough to warm the pool at all Maria was a very welcoming and helpful host; we very much enjoyed our stay here

Beautiful place

We had a lovely stay here. Maria was there to greet us and give us the lay of the house. She was so sweet. The home is quaint and had everything we needed. And when there was a plumbing issue in the upstairs bathroom, she sent someone right away the next day to fix it. She was very responsive on Vrbo messages prior and during the trip. The grounds are stunning and landscaping impeccable. There isn’t a hot tub as the listing states. But the pool is so nice! Overall, we would definitely recommend this house for your Sintra stay. It’s a little removed from the busier parts which we loved, and it only took 6-8 minutes to get an Uber there, so not bad. Uber is readily available everywhere, and downtown old Sintra is the cutest, quaintest place for restaurants, shops, etc and it’s only 10-15 min from this house. We did have to message her and ask her to make up the one single bed my friend stayed in and they came right away the next day to do that. Maria was so friendly and accommodating. She even sent a technician to teach us how to use the fireplace because my mom gets cold and the evening and mornings were chilly in May. Lovely!

Villa et vue sublime

Nous avons passé une trÚs bonne semaine dans cette belle et grande maison. La villa et la vue sont sublimes. La piscine est grande et la maison est spacieuse. La maison est située dans un endroit trÚs calme mais reste relativement proche des commerces et restaurants.

Un séjour parfait!

Une vue Ă  couper le souffle sur Sintra et ses chĂąteaux, la maison et son terrain sont trĂšs bien entretenus, avec Ă©quipement complet, la propriĂ©taire a Ă©tĂ© Ă©galement trĂšs accueillante. La proximitĂ© de Lisbonne et des plages nous ont Ă©galement beaucoup plu, attention quand mĂȘme aux petites routes un peu Ă©troites. Nous avons passĂ© 15 jours de bonheur en famille.

Magnifique maison avec vue splendide et imprenable

Accueil trĂšs chaleureux. Maria a Ă©tĂ© une hĂŽte parfaite. La maison est t belle, piscine superbe (eau salĂ©e). Le jardin est magnifique et t bien entretenu. Largement assez de transats... La vue est ... exceptionelle, sur les palais de Sintra et le parc naturel. On mange des figues et des pommes du jardin. Cuisine t bien Ă©quipĂ©e, avec Nespresso, quantitĂ© d'ustensiles, serviettes de bain - on a trouvĂ© l'Ă©quipement parfait. T tranquille (Ă  part quelques jours de fĂȘte dans le village voisin, pas trĂšs dĂ©rangeant). ON reviendra!

SĂ©jour parfait!

Nous avons loué la Villa Heleno une semaine début aÎut et avons été enchanté! La Villa dispose de tout l'équipement nécessaire, la piscine et le jardin sont trÚs agréables et la vue splendide. Qui plus est, Maria est vraiment charmante et disponible. Nous avons pu nous rendre 3 jours à Lisbonne (à 35-40 minutes de la Villa) et visiter Sintra et ses chùteaux. La région regorge d'activités qui valent vraiment la peine (notamment le palais de Monseratte juste en face à 15 minutes de la Villa - magnifiques jardins!). Les plages sont également toutes proches (avec de trÚs bons restaurants avec vue sur mer!!!!). Nous recommandons cette location sans hésiter. Merci encore Maria!

Prachtig huis met heerlijke tuin en super uitzicht

De ontvangst door Maria was heel hartelijk. Het huis is werkelijk zeer mooi en degelijk ingericht met stijlvolle meubelen en prachtige materialen. Het ontbreekt je er aan niets en alles is proper en gerieflijk. De tuin is heel goed onderhouden, prachtige bloemen en perken met daartussen ligstoelen en een groot zwembad. Het uitzicht (op het kasteel van Sintra) is niet te evenaren. De ligging (op 15 min van zee, 15 min van het historisch centrum van Sintra en amper een dik halfuur van het centrum van Lissabon maar toch in alle rust in een dorp in een groene omgeving) is zeker ook een plus. Wij waren in een heel divers gezelschap : (klein)kinderen, ouders en grootouders en allen waren super tevreden !

Lovely Sintra

Wir hatten als vierköpfige Familie einen tollen Urlaub in diesem schönen Ferienhaus. Das Haus entspricht voll der Beschreibung bzw. den Bildern und der Ausblick auf die SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten von Sintra ist einmalig. Beautiful views, traditional home, very sweet host

We rented the property for a 2 week summer holiday. Maria was kind and caring, and was responsive to all of our questions. The house is very traditional, so could use a few upgrades, but there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The view is spectacular. The property is quiet and in a peaceful neighborhood. My boys loved the pool and playing around the grounds.

Absolutely beautiful location. Amazing views

The location of the property is amazing, to the north of the Serra Sintra hills so you can see the Moorish Fort, Pena and Monserrate Palaces whilst sitting on the terrace. The pool is huge and great for swimming. Gardens around the house are beautifully tended. The remainder of the 2 hectares is more rural, but nice to explore (if the weather is cooler). You do need a car to stay here as it's quite rural, but close to several small towns/villages. Sintra is only 15 mins by car. The house is large and has all facilities needed. We tended to spend the main part of the day at the house and pool and then visit the historic sites from mid afternoon onwards. Cascais and the beaches are in easy range too. Would fully recommend for a relaxed holiday.

Excellent family week holiday in Sintra

We were a family of 6 adults for a week and had a wonderful time. The property was clean and spacious, and had everything we needed, the pool was a good size and cleaned during our stay. The gardens were beautiful and there were plenty of chairs and shades for sunbathing. . The views across to the National park were amazing - especially at night. Maria was a delightful host and extremely helpful. There was a generous and very welcome snack on our arrival at midnight! It was a bit fiddly to get to - you would need a car - but only half an hour from Lisbon. Thanks very much.

Heerlijke villa

Deze villa ligt in een prachtige omgeving vlakbij allerlei mooie en leuke bezienswaardigheden. Het strand met prachtige rotspartijen en leuke strandtentjes ligt op 10 minuutjes rijden. De communicatie verliep prettig en de foto’s op de site geven precies weer zoals de villa is. Met een prachtige tuin omgeven en heerlijk rustig in een stil wat afgelegen dorpje. Prima te bereiken met de auto die je wel nodig hebt aangezien er in de buurt van de villa niets te beleven valt. Deze villa is een zeer fijne plek om vakantie door te brengen. Wij hebben genoten.

Beautiful villa near Sintra

This a really lovely house in a fantastic location just outside Sintra with amazing views across the immaculate garden and pool to the famous and colourful hilltop Palacio de Pena. Very quiet location but easy access to Sintra, Lisbon, Estoril and the Atlantic coast. Very friendly and helpful owner and property manager. Thanks for a a great week!

Great location near to Sintra and beaches

We stayed at this villa in the second half of August. Wonderful sanctuary from the peak season crowds, fabulous view, beautiful garden, ample accommodation for our party of 6 and large pool. If you want a more rural location but with easy accesses to beaches and Sintra, this is a great place to stay.

Perfect House for us

7 of us (4 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed for a week in July. The house is fabulous and exactly what we needed for a holiday. It is clearly a much loved house for Maria and, as a result, it is a fantastic place to stay. Maria was an excellent host. The kitchen is excellent with a very good range of condiments and basic cooking items. The bedrooms are great. There are two doubles on the lower level which are serviced by two bathrooms. There is a larger bedroom with 3 beds on the upper level with its own bathroom. The grounds are just fantastic. The pool is large and was a perfect size for us. The lawn is luscious and the beautiful gardens are extremely well maintained. There is a fabulous view across to the all the local landmarks (Palacio Pena, Palacio Nacional, Moorish Castle, Quinta De Regaleira, Monserrate, etc) The bonus for us was all the fruit trees. We were encouraged to eat as many apricots as we could, because they were the trees that were in fruit at the time that we were there. I would describe the location as semi-rural since it is on the outskirts of the village of Nafarros. We walked into the two restaurants in village. There is a small supermarket in nearby villages. Sintra is very easy to access (a short drive) and there is a large supermarket there. There is also a large and free carpark at the Portela de Sintra station for access to Lisbon (40 mins by train). The nearby beaches at Praia Grande and Praia das Macas are sandy and clean. We found many good restaurants in the local area.
