Not what we expected
From the moment we turned the key we were met with a very musty, moldy smell…like the property hadn’t been used for quite a while. We immediately opened all the windows to allow a cross breeze to air out the house. As it was already later in the evening we went to town to have our dinner. We returned very tired and ready for bed.
Our two sons aged 18 and 20 occupied the upper bedroom and I do have to say that this property is really not suitable for anyone over 5’10” in height. Doors are very low, stairs are very steep. The only exit to the back yard is through a window (!!!???)
The bedding and towels seemed fresh enough but the smell mentioned earlier lingered to the point of one of our boys not being able to breathe properly so the two of us spent the night in our car.
We vacated the property first thing the next morning after only a short night stay opting out of the rest of our stay. We found other accommodations.
We contacted the owners immediately and have heard nothing. The property manager contacted us as and only seemed interested in any medical documentation we might have. They promised to investigate the smells and again , we have heard nothing.
Very disappointed after having had many other wonderful experiences on our vacation.
This property is very dated and claustrophobic.
