2 minutes à pied de la meilleure plage d'Édimbourg!

Il s'agit d'une magnifique maison de ville balnéaire traditionnelle et spacieuse, construite à une époque où les riches familles d'Édimbourg achetaient également une maison au bord de la mer afin de se rafraîchir lors des chaudes journées d'été.

Répartis sur 3 étages, plus une mezzanine, les larges escaliers sont une caractéristique, en particulier l'escalier en colimaçon entre le premier et le deuxième étage (remarque; ils sont un peu trop larges pour les portes d'escalier standard, donc peuvent ne pas être idéaux pour les jeunes enfants). Le salon est situé au premier étage, comme c'était la norme à l'époque, avec 3 grandes fenêtres qui laissent entrer la lumière. Du dernier étage, il y a des vues sur Arthur's Seat de l'avant et à travers le Firth of Forth jusqu'à Fife à l'arrière.

La maison a subi une rénovation complète à un niveau très élevé et dispose de 4 chambres, salon, salle à manger, nouvelle cuisine équipée, salle de bains familiale avec baignoire jacuzzi, WC à chaque étage, chauffage central au gaz, système d'eau chaude à haute pression, nouvelle cuisine équipée, chambre principale avec salle de bains, décoration fraîche partout, WiFi, télévision par câble, vidéo et DVD, fer et planche à repasser, sèche-cheveux, draps et serviettes. Tout ce dont vous avez besoin dans une maison indépendante près d'Édimbourg!

The kitchen was very well stocked to host dinners for our large family. The backyard table and chairs worked well for hanging out. The short walk to the beach was a plus. We enjoyed touring Edinburgh and this house worked well with the bus service.

We stayed in Portobello for a week and this house was absolutely perfect for us! Our only slight complaint (not really a complaint) was the lack of fans during the heat wave. We knew going in that AC wasn't a thing in most homes but not having atleast a fan to help was rough but we ended up buying 2 while there and leaving them for the host for future guests.

Perfect location- a few minutes' walk to beach and town centre.Lovely decor. Very well equipped and really thoughtful that basics were there eg. loo rolls, washing up liquid, oil, salt and pepper.Cant wait to stay again sometime.Also plenty of room. There were 8 of us and we could all spread out if we wanted to.

Great communication when booking. Lovely house - so convenient for the beach, promenade and coffee shops! A warm welcome from Roslyn with the keys, and a warm house - very much appreciated on a blustery weekend. We absolutely loved this part of our trip! We are a family of eight who traveled throughout Europe for almost five weeks, and Scotland was one of our stops. Our stay at Patrick’s house was truly one of the highlights.Patrick’s home is amazing! It is incredibly spacious, well stocked, and very comfortable for a large family. We even had beautiful views of the ocean and an amazing private garden and backyard.What made our stay even more special was Patrick’s wonderful neighbor, Rosalyn. She helps Patrick with the property and was there to welcome us when we arrived, complete with a thoughtful welcome basket waiting for us in the kitchen. She was also there when we departed and went out of her way to help us with anything we needed. She is genuinely one of the kindest people we met during our travels.We had an amazing stay and would absolutely stay here again if we return to Scotland. We cannot recommend Patrick’s home enough, especially for families or larger groups.Thank you, Rosalyn and Patrick, for making our stay so memorable. You are both amazing people!

I moved to Portobello from Edinburgh City Centre when I fell in love with what was then a very dilapidated house with a lot of potential. Having spent all my spare time (and money) on the house for 5 years, I got a job in Italy and had to leave it behind in 2010. Not being able to part with it, I decided on holiday rentals which have proven to be very popular.

It's a real home. Many guests have commented on that. This could be because of all the dedication and love that went into its restoration!

It's bursting with character and many original features have been retained or reinstated, along side modern twists with lighting and art.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

It's difficult to say what in particular I fell in love with when I first saw the house. It may have been the stairs and the light. There was a lovely feel to the place. The first floor living room with 3 big windows and original fireplace is a favourite, as is the wee room at the top with a view across the water to Fife.. Or the big bedroom at the top with a view to Arthur's Seat.

And I should mention the great community spirit in Porty. So many people will say hello, whether you know them or not and the High Street is full of great shops, bars and cafes.
