Hill Cottage, Braithwaite with views to Skiddaw and walks from the door
The Lake District is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, and Braithwaite is no exception. Wake up to the sight of rolling hills and the majestic Skiddaw mountain in the distance. The village is surrounded by a patchwork of fields, woodlands, and, of course, the serene Bassenthwaite Lake, which is just a short drive away.
Braithwaite is a gateway to a plethora of outdoor activities. Whether you're an avid hiker or a leisurely stroller, the area boasts a range of trails suitable for all levels of fitness. Don't miss the opportunity to conquer Skiddaw, one of England's highest peaks, or explore the enchanting Whinlatter Forest Park, home to various cycling trails and a Go Ape adventure course.
The market town of Keswick is a 5minute drive or a scenic walk away with shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, parks with tennis and crazy golf, attractions, cinema and the Theatre by the Lake. Leisurely cruises can be enjoyed on Derwentwater or hire a rowing boat and explore on your own.
Hill Cottage nestles on the edge of the village, yet within 100 yards of the village shop, and benefits from its own enclosed garden with views to the fells. Relax on an evening with a glass of wine, whilst watching the sun set over the fells and watch the local wildlife and birds that can regularly be seen visiting the garden. The cottage is perfectly based for walks from the door to the Newlands Valley or over Catbells, or take the car over Newlands Pass and explore the quieter western lakes including Crummock Water and Buttermere. The cottage is ideal for a couple or a family who are looking for a peaceful base from which to enjoy an action-packed holiday within the heart of the Lake District.
The cottage has gas central heating and comprises: Entrance porch, ideal for storing boots and coats. Dining/lounge with gas fire, TV and DVD player, 2 and 3 seater sofa with armchairs in the window, the dining table is in front of the French doors and has a view over the garden. Breakfast room/kitchen with electric oven and separate induction hob, microwave/grill, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and dining table. Conservatory with tumble dryer and electric drying rack. Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.
First floor: Double bedroom with king size bed, 2nd double bedroom and twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.
All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. Wi-fi available. 1 small well behaved dog welcome. Private parking for 2 cars with garage for storing bikes and outdoor gear. Rear garden with patio and garden furniture.
