Excellent stay

We had a perfect stay in this very nice house ! We enjoyed the ping pong table, indoor and outdoor barbecue, big kitchen and jacuzzi. Very comfortable and functional - plus all the advices and recommandations of our hosts Would recommend to anyone!

Absolutely beautiful house on the outskirts of a quiet village. The bedrooms are spacious and spotless, we had the downstairs one with an en suite which was lovely with a huge bath and shower.The kitchen with a veranda to sit and eat on attached to it was well equipped and has a large BBQ on the veranda. The gardens are good and will only improve as they mature.It is only a short drive into Alcobaca and the square there infront of the monastery is great to sit and people watch whilst having a coffee. There are also some great restaurants around the countryside near to the house.

If you want a place to be relaxed in this is it. A large very nice villa with view from the terrace where you can see the hole valley. On the terrace there is a grill big enough for a large family. In the basement a pooltable and tabletennis. Just perfect to have for children and family competion. In the garden a jacuzzi just under a banana tree. You feel like your are in the jungle. The kitchen are well equiped and we just loved to cook there.Easy to reach Dave and Sue with questions of any kind.So to a summary a just lovely house with a lot to do and perfect hosts.We can warmly recomend to stay here, itwill never be boring.

A taste of life in Portugal

We loved the house and location. It had everything we needed and hoped for to experience local lifestyle and cuisine. We were near hiking trails, beaches and did several day trips. The local restaurants and stores had the supplies we required and even to make Christmas lunch. Our hosts were exceptional in communication and guidance throughout the stay regards the house and ideas for exploring. We hope to return!

Great spot for a relaxing break

We all said we were sad to leave Casa Botanica after a relaxing fortnight in a great location for exploring this part of Portugal. The house was very spacious and whilst there were 5 of us, it would be a comfortable stay for 8. David and Sue were very responsive to our messages both before the holiday (including recommendations for places to eat and visit) as well as during, on the times we needed to contact them. The villa is in a great location - restaurants in Alcobaca are walkable (half hour there, 40 mins back up a hill which isn’t nearly as steep as it first looked!) and in the village near the Villa is a Churrasqueira to get peri chicken and ribs from a charcoal grill, which was perfect the evening we arrived. The beach at Nazare was only a 15 min drive with other great beaches not much further, and plenty of historical towns to explore. A very relaxing 2 weeks 😊
