Our favourite holiday cottage.

The Cranny is a fabulous cosy cottage from which to explore Norfolk. Its closeness to the sea shore after a short stroll from the cottage, offers lovely walks on the beach or along the firm dunes. Ideal for off lead fun for your furry friend. The quiet village offers a get way from it all atmosphere without the isolation. The cottage is well appointed internally, and has a lovely enclosed garden to enjoy some summer sunshine. Nearby there are a host of very good value restaurants/pubs. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Return visit to The Cranny

We absolutely love The Cranny! This was our second stay, and we’ve already booked our third — which probably says everything! It’s such a wonderful traditional thatched holiday cottage, with a beautiful wrap-around garden that makes it feel really special. Everything inside is finished to a very high standard, and the fabulous welcome pack was such a lovely touch. The location is perfect, with a very friendly pub just a short walk away, serving a great choice of delicious food. Winterton itself is a beautiful village, with gorgeous properties, easy access to the beach and some lovely walks along and behind the dunes. There’s something about The Cranny and Winterton that makes you feel completely at home. In fact, this is a holiday home and an area I could genuinely see myself living in! We can’t wait to return for our third stay and would highly recommend The Cranny to anyone looking for somewhere really special. In addition Winterton on Sea welcome your dogs with open arms

Relaxing and comfortable

Arrived to find everything perfect with little extra touches like the amazing welcome pack to the carton of milk in the fridge. Lovely comfortable bed with plenty of stage space for clothes. Great lounge with 2 large comfortable sofas, side tables, dining table, large TV and lots of other touches to make things comfortable. Great kitchen with just about every utensil you could need plus kitchen towel, cling film, salt and pepper and oil. Not items you often find in self-catering. Outside has a lovely, large garden with several seating areas so you can follow the sun around. the dog loved it. Very quiet even though you are only 2 minutes from the Fishermans Return.

Wonderful, quirky accommodation

The Cranny is a wonderful, most unusual cottage with a beautiful wrap around garden. The location is great, with easy access to the pub which serves a great choice of delicious food. Everything in the cottage is to a very high standard. A fabulous welcome pack was provided! Winterton is a lovely village, with some beautiful properties, easy access to the beach and lovely walks along and behind the dunes.

Recent stay at The Cranny

We had seen this cottage on previous visits to Winterton on Sea and this time stayed here. All I can say is ‘Wow’ it lived up to and exceeded expectations. Everything about this cottage was perfect to the point I could live in it. The garden is beautiful and secure. We have booked again before leaving, I think that says it all.

An excellent stay

Wonderful stay and just perfect for a weekend away by the sea. We struggled a little with the heating so it was either very warm or very cold other than that it was the perfect weekend with lovely outside space to enjoy the sun! Definitely would stay again :)

Lovely Dog Friendly Place

This is the second time we have stayed and absolutely love the place, very dog friendly large enclosed garden. The Cranny has everything you need for a home from home, pub just across road, chippy, shop and cafe within 5 minutes. Dunes couple of minutes walk and lovely dog friendly beach 5 minutes walk with a fabulous beach cafe. We will definitely be going back next year it is our dogs "happy place " for sure.

We had a great relaxing week at The Cranny. Idlyic looking cottage and comfortable. Beach and dunes just a short few mins away and our dogs loved it. No complaints everything was perfect. Highly recommend if you are looking to be close to sea

Pretty coastal cottage

Lovely, sweet cottage in a great coastal location. The cottage is well equipped with everything you may need. Walking distance to shop, pub, beach and fish n chip shop! What more can you ask for!

Great holiday property. Two comments: the sunny garden would benefit from having available the umbrella for the garden table and a scrubbing brush to use to clean the bird excrement from the garden furniture; the springs in the sofas are weak.

Old Codgers Review

There is only one problem with the Cranny and it is our problem, not of the Cranny. We are getting old and we find we cannot cope so well these days. The gravel at the front of the combined driveway is a problem for those of us using Strollers, Walking Sticks or Scooters with smaller wheels. Other than that, the garden is beautiful and very private. The garden is also very secure for your dog, well Honey, our Cockapoo never found an escape route and relished the fredom it gave her. The building is unique and very picturesque. Yes, the seating in the lounge is a bit low for us now but very comfortable. The beds are very good and suited us very well. There has been a major change in the kitchen where the kitchen table (which we never used, apart for a dump for shopping bags, etc) and chairs have been removed and a kitchen unit installed. This was a brilliant idea and provides an added area of both worktop and storage. The only modification for us would be a stool for the cook to sit upon or do as we did and nick a chair temporarily from the lounge table and chairs! The level living is bliss, no stair lifts needed here!! There are plenty of electrical sockets throughout the building but, if you do have special equipment needs I do recommend you bring your own adapters etc. Warning: shaving with a mains powered electric shaver must be included in the list of special equipment! The WiFi works well throughout the property and the broadband connection is good, but you are on holiday, and will only need it for recreational purposes! The Cranny provides a wonderful base for your holiday in Norfolk, we highly recommend it.

A week by the sea

Lovely cottage

Ideal cottage for a chill out week. Every facility you need.. Spotlessly clean and very quiet. Second time we have stayed and would definitely stay again. This is a delightful village and the surrounding area is really nice . Highly recommend
